INGREDIENTS
20 to 24 corn tortillas
6 to 8 oz shredded cheese of choice
2 oz package instant mashed potatoes
1/4 tsp chicken bouillon powder
1/2 tsp dried minced onion
8 fl oz hot water
salt and pepper to taste
2 Tbsp corn starch
1 Tbsp cold water
oil for frying

These are delicious, thanks for recipe! Happened to have leftover mashed potatoes & corn tortillas in freezer. BUT am also staying home, rationing my cooking oil, so I improvised by air frying. Not wild about air frying tortillas as they are a little dry. I softened the tortillas a la Angelica's method in a cast iron skillet, rolled & air fried. OMG! Delicious & so crunchy - very close to pan frying, yum! Your pan method of softening tortillas inspired me to improvise to use what I have on hand & will be great when low on cooking oil! 👏👏👏👏💟💟💟

I just did these for my lunch...delicious. I baked them for 13 minutes at 425. Sprayed them with canola oil and sprinkled with kosher salt and popped into the oven. Great for today's rainy weather and being inside due to corona virus cautions. 3-25-2020

I have corn tortillas I froze. I always keep tortillas in the house. I love all your ideas with the different fillings you use. Potatoes and onions are one of my favorites.
You can freeze corn tortillas..,🤦🏾♀️ I never knew that
@@cookiemonster-ix2zc I live in an area where hard to get good tortillas so when I buy I freeze some of them. Never had issues freezing corn or flour tortillas.
Perfect time for pantry cooking. I just got back from the grocery store. There was no milk, no eggs, and very little bread. I did get 99cent asparagus, so that and your Flautas will be dinner tonight. Thanks.
I've been super lucky finding things i need at the dollar store better than the markets until this madness blows over. What a way to start 2020. From airplane crashes in other country to earthquakes to my fave Kobe Bryant amongst other crazy stuff at the beginning of the year and now this corona crap. Are we looking forward to doomsday or whatever nostradamus has predicted and slowly certain predictions coming true? Anyway, enjoy the cheesy goodness flutes. Dollar stores sells corn tortilla package for a buck

Excellent recipe! I made it last night, using mashed yukons and white cheddar. I had the big 8" tortillas. Oh my goodness, they are delicious! I like the "shallow frying". No mess, nicely crispy and uses little oil. My husband wants beef the next time. Having only ground round on hand, if I mash some beans, add cheese, it should hold together better like the potatoes did. I really like the "tortilla glue" idea too. Thank you!

I'm not sure if you realize this or not but you made a non-newtonian fluid called oobleck with the cornstarch & water.It's neither a solid or a liquid which was why it was 'solidifying" momentarily when you added pressure with the spoon. How cool is that! I love your channel!😀
Lol my kids just did this yesterday in their 3rd grade zoom science class, cause quarantine. But it was fun and I even learned about this "4th" state of matter:)
