I missed the part when she added seasoning.
the first thing I thought was what about the salt and pepper?
she didn't add any seasoning
@@margeozor9562 /s
I can’t believe she forgot her trusty oregano 😢
You guys must be new here.. 😂😂
We called these potato pancakes as a kid. Mom added chopped green onion.
Like latkas?
Tortilla de papa
Yes, green onions elevates this dish phenomenally. 💞
Dad made these and we called them belly floppers 😂
Green onion would be great!
Finally! Someone says 3 ingredients and actually sticks to it and all them are regular food. It's not like you need a dragon egg and a 4 leaf clover like in all those videos. Great, I'd love to try.
😂😂😂😂 really though
i can't stop laughing at the way she says "potato recipEEEEYYYUUHHHH" 🤣
In the miiddllee
Add some seasoning and my mama called them Potato Pancakes.😊
Yeah, its definitely potato pancakes...or someone said below...potato patties...same thing.
My Gram made potato pancakes- always with leftover homemade mashed potatoes. She added eggs and s & p, then fried them in crisco on high heat in a pan (NOT non-stick). Like everything she made, they were delicious! Always had a beautiful, crunchy outside & soft potatoes inside. For some reason, I love(d) mine with butter and grape jelly!
They are just called Potato Cakes, and, added some chopped up onion!
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I know, right?
I'm going to pass on Patricia's unseasoned Potato Patties
My family will be adding oregano and paprika
Patricia 😂
Good. We'll just call this bot Patricia.
i would add green onions/scallions to the mix
Dumplings darling Patricia’s dumplings!!!!
Finally!
A three-ingredient recipe that only uses three ingredients.
A good start, and you can always add your own special touches, or not.
Thank you!
Muchly appreciated!
Short, simple, not clickbait involving a dozen other ingredients. I like 💓
Bish made hash browns and called them dumplings 💀😂
Relax. I was joking...
The only dumpling here is your mom.
😂😅🤣😆😁
(DUMP)ling 😊
Hash browns are completely different
Yes so are dumplings.
@@lissyboo91 Yes they are different. Mostly flour based. . Though I have seen potato dumplings in Germany, but they were not fried.
Shouldn't you let them sit on paper towel to help drain the grease?
I'm sure u are more than welcome to do that.
Try putting them on a rack instead. They paper towel keeps stuff greasy to me bc the food is sitting on the greasy towel
Nah, Whites call the grease "juice/juicy/juiciness".
@@curlyhairdudeify no we don't
Yes. And add some ketchup. 🍅
Mama made these potato pancakes with leftover mashed potatoes. This was in the Fifties and Sixties.
My mom made them maybe once or twice in the 90s and early 2000😅
My mom too🤗
I love potato pancakes. I have to try these, but with a spoonful of sour cream.❤
Hmmmm 😮yes 😊
Also good with any kind of preserve 👍👏🍛👌
My mother used to make these the night after mashed potatoes, using leftover mash potatoes She called them Potato Patty's, they were delicious.
Did your mom probably put some spices, or at least salt, in them?
@@expatannie6958 Of course she put salt and minced onions. They were delicious.
@@expatannie6958my mom put lots of seasonings plus s/p and minced onions, and a little milk. She did use one egg… sprinkled cheese on top. Yummy 😊
Exactly!
Yup potato cakes.
My mom made potato cakes with leftover mashed potatoes with onion coated in flour. So good.
U so Right☝🏽!! Add cracked pepper n a little salt depending on the cheese used...😋😉
My mom uses the potatoes and bread crumb coating, almost the same.
Mine did too❤
@@rlynn5390 l have tried making them but they never taste as good as hers.
@@bryanspindle4455 same here my mom passed away in 2013.
This one actually looks good.
When I started watching this all I could think of is...
EVERYBODY'S SO CREATIVE"😂😂😂
(IYKYK)
I would add a little diced onion and a little garlic powder
Me too and some canned sweet corn
Mmmm now that sounds good
@@felicitywoodruffe4087 And reduce the amount of cheese to zero. Top with sour cream.
And little green onion, little grated carots pinch of salt and pinch of anchovies 😍😍😍then make tomatoes spicy ketchup and hot coffee!!!! Yummmyyyyy your husband will worship you eternity
She said three ingredients and she actually used...three ingredients!! This is a first for Super Recipes 👍🏻
Nope! 4 ingredients! Potatoes, eggs cheese, & oil! Also these are not dumplings. They are fried potatoe patties! 😮
and oil, and salt
Plus the oil, plus seasoning presumably
They're not dumplings though
Any time you have a recipe that includes potatoes, you have a winner❤
What one culture calls a food or recipe may not be the same in another, but respect is universal. Remember, "There is more than one way to skin a cat."
This is a mashed potato cake.
I'd add a little flour, Borsin cheese, and fresh chives.
Great for breakfast with runny yolk eggs on top.
Sounds amazing 👏 I'll definitely try it your way
That Borsin cheese is addictive🤤
Interesting we also do this in the hispanic community… i grew up eating this every other weekend… we call it torta de papa 😊
No seasoning no salt, probably tastes like potato mush and oil..
Salt would be in the cooked potatoes. But then there's oil in the pan and oil from the cheese.
@sybilpetersen449 If the recipe calls for salted potatoes then she should have said that. At any rate, salt is not enough seasoning it needs other things to add flavor. Potatoes are very bland.
Rhymes with “ditch.” Here’s a thought- instead of trashing someone else’s work, why don’t you start your OWN channel and offer free recipes? As you can see from other comments, these can be customized to personal taste. Personally, I like that this is a simple recipe that anyone can make!
The scream I let out when the lil sister showed her true face. 😂😂😂😂
In Mexico they add canned tuna and season accordingly. My mom made them without cheese and we call them tortitas de atun 😋
We called these potato cakes when I grew up. We didn’t add cheese to them (but that looks yummy!), and once they were made into Pattie’s, mom pressed the front & back into a very lightly floured board then into the frying pan. They were AWESOME!!!
Ok we got competition…let’s try both ways!
Yes!! Exactly.
We do too!
Naahh this is potatoes pancake honey!!! Potatoes Cake needs flour and sugars and bicarbonet soda!!! Makes its fluffy and yummy!!! With sugar vanilla slime on it and cold milk Chocolate drinks!!!
In England we call them potato cakes. Never had potatoes with sugar!
That is not dumplings where I come from. We would call them potato patties...And to us, Hashbrowns are shredded, not mashed. It's all differences in texture... and it's all still just potatoes.
Yum!
Exactly what i said above
This is potatoes pan cake not dumplings nor Harshbrown!!! The goodness of this recipe, its has little cholesterol from the oil!!! About Eggs, the cholesterol from eggs yolk its good cholesterol not the bad one😜😜😜
Wow.. potato pancakes.. this woman is a genius.. the entire population of Ireland thank you for coming up with a 'recipe' that no one could ever have thought of..
/s, and you're right.
Thanks so much for sharing your delicious and nutritious recipe💕
Tasty but not nutritious. Grease fried potatoes? Nutritious? Seriously?
Potatoes usually taste really good when you add a little salt and pepper 🫤
Then do it and quit yipping.
@@sddukay1744 🤣🤣

We called them potato patties--Mom made them all the time when we were kids--a good use of leftover mashed potatoes from the night b4
One thing we never had was leftover mashed potatoes😂
@@bigbadbubba099 lol
I totally forgot about potato cakes! I have never made this despite my elders making it for me. I can't wait to make these. Very old school and delicious treat! 😍
Thank you very much. My daughter asked me about this recipe a few days ago.
I am going to make it this afternoon for us. I hope my grandson is going to try them.
Thanks you❤❤❤
My mom has been making these as long as I can remember. She used leftover mashed potatoes.
So before you can remember she just through its away!!!
They look Great!! I will make this!! With seasoning!
😂
😆😆😆😁
We call them potatoes patties.😋
This looks good. I make this with my leftover mashed potatoes but I never thought to add the cheese. This one uses more eggs which is probably a good idea I coat with panko breadcrumbs.
the way she flopped that potato pancake right back into herself with hot oil obviously splashing back at her without a flinch proves to me she's a robot 😂
😅😅😅
😂 naaaa she just used to it ... veteran cooks don't care ABOUT hot oil splashes
Also you didn't seem to notice the cut in the video right when that happened! Lol
It probably would have been good if she added a little salt n pepper. Onions & Green peppers! Fuggh it, 7 ingredients!
I have tried it. Very delicious. Thank you for sharing your video with me ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I boiled way too much potatoes so I search old UA-cam and found this is saved the potatoes from being trashed❤
I will place them on a paper towel to absorb the excess oil. This looks gr3at! An air fryer may also be good.
Super in an air fryer with a little McCormick's Montreal Steak seasoning, sour cream, onion & chives mixed in a bit of flour. So 😋
Put grated bell peppers, carots, cabbage, green onion and onion then make tomatoes ketchup deepin and Hot Coffee eeeeewwwww yummmmmmyyyyyy
They're kinda thick, makes me wonder if the egg cooks all the way through?
Looks good and easy
Ahhh…grandma’s POTATO CAKES!!!
Potatoe cakes but with some seasoning and sour cream and chives and bacon bits...scrumptious 😊
Worlds mamas knew how to make loving meals for her babies.thank u mamas
Thats not for babies!!! Babies just givem plain mashed potatoes!!! With some salts Thats for the HANDSOME HOT HUNK GOOD LOOKING FATHER OF THE BABIES!!!!!
Usually these are seasoned, wheres your oregano at now? Or salt and pepper? My great granny used to make something like this she called them latkes (potato pancakes) she always added a couple tbsp of flour to the mixture.
Where’s your oregano at now.. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 so aggressive 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼
Patricia the bot got fed up with being told she always uses Oregano. So, she leaves it out in the recipe which needed it.
If all that were added it would be more than 3 ingredients.
Thank U! I will make it tonight and share it with my sister!👍💜
Yeah, mom made these with left over mashed potatoes and we called them potato cake.. also added onion to them taste so good… I miss those days.. mom was a great cook..
Romanian here: Man I love every single comment about seasoning ever. Especially with simple recipes like that, where you can clearly add whatever seasoning (or extra ingredient) to your heart's content.
Good idea for a quick, tasty breakfast. Been doing something similar for a long time. I season it to taste with loads of pepper, salt, hot smoked paprika garlic (or garlic powder) and whatever else my heart desires. No biggie.
They're mocking her (or making fun of her) for not adding ANY seasoning at all. It's obvious that you can add anything you like, but hers are going to be bland AF! Plus, she could have just used leftover mashed potatoes (which would already be flavored with various things) and it's definitely simpler than having to cook potatoes just for this. My problem with this video is that she says "flip the recipe." Ummm....the recipe is just the list of ingredients and cooking instructions, not the food after it's made and in the pan. This is definitely one of those videos that's an example of all the people who think what they do is so exceptional and wonderful that everyone should watch them. Even though there's really nothing special about it at all, or they're not even doing it right anyway. 🙄
"No biggie" is so American😂❤😂
@@lc4life369 My English is a mish-mash of British and American English, I admit. 😂😂😂 In my defense I mostly learned it from books, comics and movies, plus UA-cam videos. Now imagine that with a rather pronounced accent and it's a headtrip to any native English speaker to converse with me.
Same here anastn! Same here! I add a load of S&P and paprika and garlic powder and whatever else my little heart desires ❤
😊
Potato pancakes
OH MY GOD! I've been looking EVERYWHERE for this recipe! My aunt made it when I visited as a kid, but no one else I knew had ever heard of it. Thank you so much!!!!
That looks good. I'd add Onions. Looks yummy
We call it potatoe cake
my grandma made these when i was a kid, bomb!!!! now I have the recipe ty
Damn, she must've said to herself, "the cheese will be enough seasoning for today." 😂
"idk if chef Ramsey gave her a pill or something" 🤣🤗
It should be criminal not to season... ESPECIALLY POTATOES. Woman are you mad??????
No biggie! Just season it to your hearts desire honey!😊
Oh it's like a potato cheese ball (patty).
I think that I would love to try that with some good fried fish with a little green beans and some cold strawberry lemonade.
YUMMY😊😊
I make my kids a better version, with a mix of 2 grated raw potatoes, a good amount of shredded cheese, a little bit of beaten egg, salt and pepper. Pour it on a medium size saucepan and let it cook fully until almost crispy, then add a thin layer of more beaten eggs, cover pan and when the top layer of egg is fluffy then turn over for a fully cooked version or transfer to your plate and it’s ready to eat with a toasted piece of bread.
YES
My daddy used to make us potato pancakes with the left over potatoes from supper the night before. No cheese in them and I think he added milk to make the batter more pancake consistency. Boy do I miss those!💜
First thing I've seen so far I may try!
Looks great
The one time she doesn’t try to put weird seasonings on things - she puts zero. This is a good recipe, or would be if it weren’t bland as hell. Season your food!!! Correctly, please!!!!!!
😂😂😂😂 she ran out
My granny called the potatoe pancakes. She always put onion and seasoning, and cheese in it 😋
❤❤❤ thank you so much for this recipe three easy steps my family loved it they added so much cheese inside they were awesome❤
I will be adding oregano and paprika. Also will fry in grass-fed margarine
Are you for real? :)
That comment cracked me up, don't forget to include some milk
@bamboozled3531 Same😂
I’d add some cilantro onion 🤣😂
@@bamboozled3531 42.7 grams of condensed milk maybe?
I made that with a little bit of onions. Delicious 😋
these are famous in Germany!!! best thing to use on top is apple sauce and sour cream! so good!!!! I love scallions with it too!!!!
Stop bragging about this !! They are called“potato pancakes” and my Irish grandmother made them for breakfast every time she had left over mashed potatoes!! The Irish have been making these potatoes pancakes sine the 1500’s after the first Irish famine caused by the British! The British people ruined Ireland by stealing every green plant native to Ireland- the Brit’s stole from the Irish until all the British left was dirt! The British planted nothing!! But the Irish did not die out like the Indians in the USA did. The Irish grew potatoes because all potatoes need is water and ground to grow in. No sunshine because it’s the portion of the potatoes that are the roots that ate potato we eat and they grow underground not needing light!!
Your potato pancakes originate from the Irish!!
Dumpling?? You're crazy 😂😂
Im preparing that for breakfast in the morning Aug 1st, thanks lovely
Oh yeah potato patties there so good!
Ah, would you happen to know how too cook Spinach fritters?
My grandma would use the mash potatoes that we had as left over add cheese you can basically use meat onions if you want. She call them Potatoes Cakes. You brought back memories
I always post low cost plates! This one is very good. I've to try it out!👍👍👍
Not even salt ? 😑😑

You mean potato latke
Yummy they really look delicious.
Who calls this dumplings? They're potato cakes or potato patties. 😂
Yes... potato cakes!
Add some grits and red eye gravy and you have a tasty meal.🥗👍
Things missing from your kitchen: paper towels, measuring spoons and cups, and a current cookbook.
😂😂😂😂😂
I will try this with some onions and seasoning added in.
Potato cakes are a childhood favorite of mine. I like to add SEASONING to mine but to each it’s own. Bravo on this being one of the most normal videos I’ve seen you do 😅
My mom always did this with left over potatoes in the 70s.
We love potato pancakes 🥞 ❤
Ol girl made her some MASHED BROWNS. LOL
very intetesting. sounds simple but nice. will definately try
Your Potato Pancakes look great, left over Mashed potatoes work great too for Potato Pancakes as my family called them 😃
This is possibly the best recipe this page ever produced
My Nanna would make these but usually it was left over mashed potatoes. My father a spud grower we always had an abundance of taters. Nanna would add salt and green onions no cheese or eggs. She would also make potatoe cheese balls. A stiffer mashed potatoe and a thumbprint bowl in potatoes and add cheese curds and put in a egg wash and then roll in garlic butter toasted bread crumbs. Fry til crisp and let cool and eat. They were the best! I still make them, especially with new potatoes from the field and during the cold seasons.
my mom used to make Kartoffelpuffer when I was a kid. Not the exact same thing but similar enough to get a nostalgia wave.
Tato pancakes is what gran called them! DELISH.
Where, I’m, from we, call them Potatoes 🥔 Pancakes !!
