One more I would add is do not sit still while extracting. Well I mean no, please keep crouching or standing on top of the boat. Also, the wheels of the stage coaches can be shot through. This is a good place to sit or stand. Trust me.

I want to add a number 12, going into the gam to either farm for money/xp/traits/etc is a great way to refresh yourself. Also challenge yourself to be as quiet as possible during this. You would be surprised by how much a team can be oblivious when they think they have slightest bit of breathing room.

I completely agree, not only it helps to gain money and sometimes you can even get the reward from the boss, but also, sometimes, it feels really good to troll other teams by killing their teammates, burning them and running away lololol. I'm usually a very lound player and a very hot-tempered person, so imagining the pure rage of randoms loosing their teammates from a random guy with a winfield who's just killing npcs is just so much fun xD

You can run and play loud most of the time. Even sound traps don't really matter. But you have to know when to go silent.
Getting the feeling for this is in my opinion the key to fast and effective hunt gameplay.
You can also use sound traps to mislead other teams or to let enemy teams run into each other.
Crouching gets you killed way way way more than playing loud.

I'm around 500 hours. I've recently swapped up my strategy. I get the free hunter, unequip everything, add ONE weapon that I want to use/practice more with (lately has been bow and bomblance, my aim with the guns is shit), equip a medkit and dusters, and head into the bayou. This allows me to play with a more care-free attitude (loadout was like $300 max), allows me to loot and equip supplies, but also forces me to learn to adapt to the situation at hand. I've gone from getting maybe one kill a game to 5+ a game, and if I have a bad game it hasn't cost much.
Also been recording my games (might start a channel one day) that I can go back and watch, not only see how I could have improved my kills but see what I could/should have done different to prevent getting killed

    • @REXNOR_TV
      @REXNOR_TV  Рік тому +7

One thing that would be a good reminder and help to new Hunt players is to play with headphones and to ensure that you've got Windows Sonic or Dolby Atmos DISABLED on your audio device as Hunt relies on providing some of the best spatial positional sound in any game ever made BUT many new players probably don't realise they need their headphones to have all other processing disabled and to be running in Stereo only.

    - Windows: the amount of players I've killed because they peak windows while beign inside a boss layer is crazy, those are pretty obvious spots so all experienced players keep them in the sight. I only recommend peaking windows when there's a huge fight going outside between other teams so probably there's no one watching out for the windows, and just peak once or twice and even that is risky too.
    - Roofs: beign on top of a roof, you are really easy target, you can be seen form different compunds and huge distance. Only go up there when you are sure no one else is there except the enemy team you are fighting and if you know their position, otherwise you'll be dead. I do this when I am sure that the most of the enemies are dead and there's one team left (at the very end of a round).
    - Not picking bounties after banishing the boss, the amount of bounties I've steal with the "Serpent" trait is crazy (it allows you to pick hints/bounties form 25m or 50m if you are solo). Just pick the bpunties, you have wallhack for 5 seconds, pretty value info.
    - Don't defend boss layers from outside, I mean killing the boss and not hiding in the main building but somewhere else just dont... it can go well sometimes but in most cases you'll die because the best way to survive while beign with bounties is inisde the boss layer, with traps, covering entrance and all that stuff. The other houses and stuff are way samller and easy to attack.
    - Regen shots, it will help you to save medkits, specially while killing the bosses or in long distance fights and if yo have cover near you or in cases
    - Not having necormancer trait (if you solo you can revive yourself and in team you can revive them form 25m) this way you can save matches by reving your teammates while beign in cover and your own life, because many time you cannot lose your position, if you do you'll die too. Combine it with resilience, in case you die and got revived, you'll get up at maximum healt possible.
    - Edit: getting outside (leaving) boss layer while fighting an enemy team, just do it if your are sure that there's no third team which can kill you if you get out (you can use dark sight and make sure if there's more temas outside).
There are many more but these some of mains mistake that I see many players do, the new ones and also some not so new ones.

I love that it's nearly impossible to get from Blanchet to Darrow's or Lockbay without triggerring soundtraps. You either have to traverse water which is loud, trigger ducks that are placed 1 meter away from walkways that cannot be lantern'd / poisonbolted, or trigger 1out of gazzilion AI that always spawns en masse there.

Unless you know the player you’re fighting is going for headshots, don’t crouch at an enemy. 9 times out of 10, especially in low MMR, enemies are aiming at your chest or mid torso for the easy big target, which makes you crouching right into their crosshair.

I love this game for giving you so much ways of gameplay. I am the one who's crouching to much. And I made it my way of playing. It's awesome feeling when enemies move along and you remain unseen even when they are in 2 meters from you're. I play stealth-sniper with camouflaged sniper mosin rifle and silenced revolver. Love this type of gameplay! Most party members don't understand it but when you're skilled sniper you can give them good covering fire. And you can use it to get the attention to you and your teammates can make the ambush as well. Just need to get ppl who get the point..

These tips are good for new players, but it is funny how some of them are not necessary for 5 to 6 star gameplay. For example, when it comes to running and worrying about making noise, higher level players tend to just ignore noise traps and run as fast as they can in the early part of matches. This is because, since they know the map/spawns and aren't afraid of gun fights, they value getting to the center of the map and way from the spawns. Doing this ensures that they can get to an advantageous position and locate the boss first. Also, when you were in the army did they teach you violence of action? A lot of people think Hunt is a tactical game, so they crouch walk and try to shoot from stealthy positions, thinking that is being tactical. While this can work, being fast and violent, pushing the enemy when they're throwing dynamite or reloading, is a much better strategy. This doesn't mean mindlessly running in, this means intentionally charging and seizing opportunities. There have been a number of times where someone took a pot shot from a stealthy position at me, but then I just killed them just by chasing them down and engaging them. They probably took so much time setting up that position just to be killed so effortlessly.

I would add another point - watch for rest. There might be situations when your bounty advantures go extremely unhappy. You force yourself to go further and further, trying to take into account all mistakes you've made, and at certain point, you become too angry and uninstall Hunt. So it's crucial to feel when it's high time to make some pause, and not only if things are going bad - if you have been lucky a couple times, it also can require some short break. Being distressed and angry can fog over your ability to analyze your actions and lessons learned from failures

I would say a big mistake newer players make is not learning and remembering the spawns/not checking the map enough. I can guess where hunters are coming from 95% of the time and hardly ever get caught off guard. It takes time to learn them, but it’s worth putting effort into it early on. I get so many kills by just getting ahead and ambushing people at choke points.

This game always makes me feel like a beginner for some reason . Also for those who panic in close range fights just pull out the knife and zig zag towards and enemy that makes them panic even more and you might get a bunch of free kills in otherwise unwinnable fights EDIT : not sure if it will work in higher star lobbies since players there will have better aim but still hunt gunfights epecially close ranged ones can be soooo adrenaline inducing that players who cant keep their cool just start spamming wildy and missing also zig zaging the right way as shown in the begging is a must , Its basically the same thing but just for offence not defence

These first 2 tips combine into a great lesson to learn: walk! Its far quieter than running and its far quicker than crouching. Combining walking and crouching can keep your movement quiet while still moving quickly and throwing any enemies aim off as your head level changes.

Remember to have fun, this goes in all games, it can feel like work when you listen to all these tactics and all these things and get yourself super stressed out because your not at peak performance sometimes.
Look I’m a certified potato gamer, my graphics are on low and my res is down a bit for the thing to run smoothly, if it’s one thing that’s taught me is that having fun is better then being the best constantly.
My advice? Be the Zombie Killing clint eastwood you bought this game to be, don’t be a clone of all the other top ten guides.
I rock a revolver and a wheel gun and I know aslong as I fight well the gun type won’t matter too much aslong as I’m not intentionally stupid with my load outs or pick the wrong thing for the wrong situation.
My worst trait is aiming too long, I’ll line up that perfect shot and get domed, it’s an easy fix..take the shot anyway even if you are not sure, remember this game is very deadly and having a bullet fly an enemy’s face will scare them enough into maybe making a mistake, move as you do it perhaps, take advantage of them being too focused on being shot at.
If your alone against more then one person, try to get to an area with a lot of cover, and as the guy says know when to retreat and don’t let the fight push you into a corner

Worrying about money sure hinders the player, but being after the most expensive loadouts can also be detrimental in the sense that some of the best weapons aren't locked behind tall monetary gates.
    Examples:
*Winfield rifles, especially the M1873C Marksman, M1873 Talon, M1873 Swift, M1876 Centennial Sniper, M1876 Centennial Trauma and M1876 Centennial Shorty Silencer.
*Romero shotguns, but in particular the Talon, Alamo and Handcannon.
*Scottfield Model 3 Spitfire and Scottfield Model 3 Swift. Excellent for both Fanning trait usage or dual wield.
*Caldwell Conversion Chain Pistol can do some serious wreck when paired with Fanning trait and Full Metal Jacket ammunition.
*LeMat Mark II for a handgun + shotgun combo. Also probably the best gun to dual wield, ever.
*Hand Crossbow, Crossbow and Bow. Huge damage for little buck, and they can carry some exquisite, effective and definitely fun to use ammo.
Other things to note about expensive weapons is how sought after they are and how plug-and-play they can be.
For the first aspect, I will just say that budget Hunters will absolutely go out of their way to ambush and loot any Mosin, especially the Avtomat. Crown & King Auto 5 and Lebel variants are also prime targets, and Nitro Express could be desired by some of them (if not for the raw power, for how expensive it is and how cool it looks and sounds).
For the second aspect, an enemy can loot your corpse when you just died after peppering them with a C&K and use it to wipe the rest of your own team. But if they are foolish enough to attempt it with a Terminus and they don't have Levering, they are screwed. Even if they do have the perks needed to make good use out of the weapon looted, most low to mid tier weapons have such long reloads that using a robbed, freshly-emptied gun in the heat of the moment is simply unthinkable.

Get a small stack of friends to play with almost exlusivly. And learn eachothers play styles/ get good chemestry together. To where you can rely on eachother. @@REXNOR_TV ehm, the mistake would be, to use a bad headset. I was thinking if this is topic for more advanced players. In my opinion no it isnt because the sound is in short distance as important as the vision. The player is handicapped with a bad headset as well if he uses a bad monitor with bad black level because of the dark themes and areas in that game. The importance of these topics are specific to hunt and nearly doenst matter in other FPS. With that, it should be said - Making to much noise is one of your points, the perception or misperception of noises should be a point to. It doesnt matter if you do a lot of noises if the enemy cant "read" them right. Ty for your reply and the good video =)

I notice new players not knowing when to move quickly and fight or slow down and hide. There are times when a fight is on going you get a chance to slow down get quiet to flank or reposition without the enemy knowing. Other times in fights, it’s on and it’s go time. Sprint jump punch and send the lead down range. It is difficult to overcome the fear of losing and know when to be aggressive and when to be quiet/patient.
If you play other shooters. Rainbow 6, Warzone, Apex. It is almost the exact reverse from those games.

    About mistake 6
Personally, I'm making myself more stressful and worried when playing with huge a*s priced weapons :D
I once done a full prestige with ONLY melee weapons and it was BEST and MOST FUN experience until 5 stars lobbies where you just can't have fun all the time (only a little bit) :)
Maybe it's cause when you dying with shit machete and hunting bow or saber (me beloved) - you can just say something like "Well, I died cause of my shit loadout, nice try, go next"
But when you equipped with Crown&King, 4 best consumables and 50lvl hunter - you have no personal excuses to lose and it's just harder to admit it and chill after death.
So saying that, I'm glad you said not "go and use most priced weapons", but "go use what you need to and just don't care". It's very true!

Regarding your tip number 6. The devs have made it almost impossible to NOT set off any AI...in fact they use it to inorganically start firefights between teams instead of letting things happen more naturally. They have even went on record saying they want to push the game in a direction of instigating more direct fights....and the way they do that is increasing the AI and their sensitivity to being triggered.

    • @REXNOR_TV
      @REXNOR_TV  11 місяців тому

Good video. Just want to say, (Not hating) the fact that all of the gameplay you showed was with Bow or Sniper, it just takes away some credibility IMO. Those are literally some camp/cheesy players that won't do other some sort of gameplay because they are too afraid to expose on a decent gunfight... Forget about the "meta" and MMR, it just doesn't show a proper way to play the game with all of those advices. I laughed my ass when you switch over to your Dolch, after using a sniper and placing a trap, like WOOT. But hey, nice vid, hope some people will understand better than me.

Sniper rifles are the strongest combo with the bow, and I love playing them. I have no issues playing other weapons - in fact I do play other weapons most of my streams.
When it comes to your statement regarding bow and snipers beeing "cheese" weapons, I think it is more important to look at each individual player's playstyle instead of generalizing, but that's just my opinion! Take every shot you can and play aggressively. You won't improve by sitting in a bush, crouching around, camping inside of a boss lair and fire a total of five bullets in a game, even if you might win. This is my personal advice to new FPS players, Stress is your friend, put yourself in uncomfortable new situations and watch as your stress dissipates over time, remember that you are playing to have fun and learn from your mistakes, forgive yourself after every death and try to think of what you could've done better = you will find yourself in similar situations so many times in the future!

Seems like lots of these points contradict each other. Just gotta say that there's a time and place for everything. Doesn't help for a new to player to hear "you run too much" only to have them walk instead and therefore become a much easier target.

Saying there’s a time and place for everything is not very specific and frankly won’t teach new players anything. The purpose of this video was to explain common mistakes by giving specific examples, and it seems like a lot of people found them useful 😊 If you consider the different points in this video, the end result is basically saying what you’re suggesting, but I think being more specific is more helpful to beginners. Thank you for the feedback!
