I didn’t enjoy the Krag when it was released and very rarely used it, but then in the last two events I had to use it more as apart of challenges, I got to like using so much that it became one of my go to rifles. I’ve really enjoyed using it for quite some time now, so to get a buff is kind of cool.
It could have gotten the extra ammo but the damage buff just erases the niches of other guns I feel. Like the krag being the only fast shooting long ammo gun was balanced out by the 124 dmg which would only punish you if the enemy was missing a 25 bar. Now guns like the Berthier (excluding scoped variants) feel irrelevant. If you want to take an iron sight long ammo gun you should almost always take the krag. Queue the womp womps
For everyone who didn't know: When you throw a frag bomb at a meathead you can kill it afterwards with only one or two bullets. So you get the weapon XP and don't waste your ammo :)
The Bayou Swift section is very indicative of how Hunt usually goes... It should be shown to new players. "Are you really sure you want to go through this?" xD
I spent around 4 hours in my Nvidia control panel trying to make the game look better because their patch has everything stuck on low settings. Classic Crytek, and that worries me for the engine upgrade.

The Krag needed this, in my opinion. It was the main military rifle at the time when the game takes place, and widely considered one of the best. It really _should_ be a top tier rival to the Mosin. And it's nice to see Crytek acknowledge that. Given Hunt's track record, though, I wouldn't be surprised if this is followed by a ham-handed nerf.
It's whole identity is the trade off of high fire rate and other things for the low damage. This weapon was brought into the game specifically to be the bridge between medium and long ammo. This buff completely betrays that. This is shit.
@mahockey3 That is a fairly poor reflection of the real gun, though. The Krag is a marksmanship weapon. One of the finest sniper rifles ever engineered. It's also super long and unwieldy, even compared to a Mosin. It's not a handy battle rifle. Lower the rate of fire a bit and we're gold.

krag > mosin right now the only thing that was holding the krag back was the reserve ammo and the 124dmg it can one tap a downed hunter before dmg drop off fast rate of fire the lesser damage compared to the mosin i dont care about the times where this makes a difference in two tap potential at range are few and far between i dont need bullet grabber with the krag at range for me the krag was always better as the mosin (i dont count spitzer; thats a different topic) even considering headshots: faster rate of fire = higher chance of landing a headshot and in terms of two tap potential... 124 vs 136 dmg... negligible (yeah i know i can just reload before cycling the next bullet with the mosin, but sometimes i wanna hold an angle and dont reload but if i hear the enemy reposition and know i have some air i wanna got into the next phase of the fight fully loaded without loosing a bullet)
Read the changelog. Now inmos are inmune to clouds and super resistant to poison bullets. Some people in reddit says that the little rat now survives double tap of spark poison even
Yeah, that was intentional. The immo is now resistant to poison ammo and immune to poison clouds. Choke still one shots him. And melee still kills him fast

that mosin sniperguy.....god i hate those players. getting them too often in the lobby atm. the whole match you fight, banish and hunt for bounty. you hear nothing with like 20 minutes to spare after final fight. and with less than 10 min on the clock suddenly those kind of players show up. doing nothing for 30 min only to snatch the bounty. I mean, play the way you have most fun, but I will still hate you for your cowardly behaviour xD xD xD
This is by means a complaint, as I am grateful that they adjusted the krag. I just think they went a little overboard. I was hoping it would have 15 ammonia total instead of 18, and I was hoping for a 125 body tap. But we’ll see how it goes. I’m happy the krag got the adjustment. The bigger issue is the immolator change. I was a little surprised by that. And the spear is ungodly. That will have to be nerfed soon. One shotting anywhere on the body is more powerful than the damn nitro.
I really dislike cryteks new balancing approach cause ut just makes half the guns in this game pointless cause there are better variants. To me the kraig was a fast shooting long ammo rifle that could get an easy two shot in the open like early in a fight but fell off late game except for its bigger ammo pool. This allowed guns like the berthier to be relevant still. Now thats no longer the case, or the martini ironside, or honestly the lebel without the marksman scope.
Other examples are half of the Winfield's, the centennial making the Springfield irrelevant with it's higher velocity and bleed ammo option taking the Springfield niche while also having a magazine. The slate took over the specter unless you like fire ammo or the compact ig and honestly what even is the point of half the melee variants in the game? Remember the hammer?
While the Krag is really strong right now - it’s in a really difficult spot. Before the patch, it was borderline useless because in most circumstances, it would be outperformed by the Vetterli - which, as a long ammo rifle, is not ideal. It needs the 126 damage, and the limited ammo it had before made it not worth using, in my opinion. I think the best option to balance it at the moment (aside from making it more expensive, because that’s not a good way to balance anything) is to increase the reload time and decrease the rate of fire. Slight adjustments is all it really needs
I get that people don't like that its not 1 shot. But i think this is an unnecessary change. There are already 5 long ammo rifles and now 3 pistols that all deal over 125 dmg. Just use one of them... Krag was suppose to be like a high velocity medium ammo with extra penn. You pair with a sparks pistol and always open with that then bo more biohoo they survived with 1 hp... They make this change even through the krag shoes up all the time in matches...when was the last time you saw a berthia....? Didnt need a buff. If anything i think uppercut and uppermat both need nurfs so they dont do 125 dmg at least not beyond like 15m. And uppercut just needs like a shit tone more sway
6! i forgot they literally just added mako....why do we need 7 guns that basically all do the same thing...why not just make the verterly and centennial long ammo also ... don't like the direction hunt has been going lately. hated the last event, and if leaks are accurate the new 2.0 event is gonna be very similar rip. the sealed cache heath restor is the worst restoration addition they have added and its not even close. all other ones required you complete some sorta challenge. its nice that they are now back in the game, but they are so rare you cant really prep for them, rampage and the one where you don't loose a bar, and even looting to get bar back those are all great (but you should not have infinite loots that is just crazy) but go to medkit in middle of map for infinite bar back...so lame. also not a huge deal, but world interactables having more than 2 uses is just dumb also. and spear... i mean dur its gonna get nerfed. but we have like 2 tools to deal with immolators, so like maye if you are gona take away poison dmg at least give us throwing hammers... but nooo lets just make a tool that makes basically every single mele item in the game redundant as well as most close range weapons..... you coudl already one shot with the axes...but it required you know some skill. my mind is blown.
Eh...make it 650 dollars. I know people like to talk about how gun cost impacts nobody, but it does, nobody plays the cyclone, people rarely take nitro express. Give krag players the minor gear fear and this buff is fine.
I do not think Sniper scopes are necessary all it does is encourage people not to even play the game. If they want to stop the dead lobbies/stalemates just take the sniper scope out marksman is already way better than it should be. Just avoid fighting anything or anyone and sit 100+ meters away and wait for everyone else to finish playing the game. It's the most frustrating thing to fight against because they constantly run away from you as well they literally are allergic to fighting people.
Just run away from them. Snipers only have the advantage from far away and that comes with disadvantages. You can’t cover the entire compound the entire time, so find that opening and bail. They’re vulnerable when they’re moving after you. I personally love encountering a wider verity of play-styles. It sets hunt apart from most other shooters for me. Playing the game how I want and trying to adapt it to deal with how other people are playing is a huge source of fun for me.

Anyone notice the hand crossbow poison doesn't kill the immolator anymore? I shot it twice with poison and it still needed 3 knuckle knife hits
