I'm new, solo, and only 3 stars and had to hide in a bush for 25 minutes near rot jaw until the enemy squad finally left. They were also hiding, not moving, not fighting the boss. Just waiting for me
As a player who usually plays with a team and has 900 hours, I have some advice. If your teammate is wounded in a firefight and retreats, aim at the angle from which he retreats. Usually because he is wounded, the enemy wants to rush him. So you can ambush him and take advantage.
@@REXNOR_TV Thank you for the compliment. I don't know if it works in 5 and 6 star lobbies, but it works in 3 and 4 stars. Because I suffered a lot from this tactic.
New player here. Started about a week after this newest update. Your guides and and gameplay videos have been incredibly helpful dude. This game is pretty complex and has a lot of moving parts. I just started a prestige where I’m using nothing but Hunting Bow Xbows and Combat Axes for main weapons and always bringing either throwing axes or spears (Viking cosplay). The day after I started it I got your first bow guide recommended to me on here your videos are great dude!
One thing that make HUGE difference to me is knowing the enemy weapons (by the sound). Example... You dont have much med kits left, but you hear a Lebel or a Mosin, Sparks and so on... Is EXTREMELY important to use this med for only 25 health instead of usual 50 (or 100 with doctor). I hold my meds if i hear a winfield because if i take a shot, i wont fall and the meds can heal more, extendending my ''resources'' to fight. I was playing duo vs trio with a random and killed 4 guys only with single body shots using a Lebel. It´s like a shotgun that kills in one shot, but up to 50 meters instead of 10. Another thing is you about to push a compound hearing fanning and shotguns or traps being placed... Usually not a very smart thing to do! lol
As a player who usually plays with the team and has 900 hours, I have some advice. There is a tactic I call my own. "Light Infantry Doctorine" When playing with your team, open up in parallel, not too far apart. With this tactic you force the enemy to relocate as you hold a wide variety of angles. It works mostly in wooded areas and it's a bit of a gamble. It's a gamble because if the enemy is in the same formation then the better or first to kill usually wins. If you are too far apart, your teammate can't help when he falls and the enemy can push easily. If you stay too close the enemy can flank more easily when your teammate falls.
I like to run trios for strength in numbers and higher probability of success... But, if my team is getting torn apart in a firefight, I've always got 1 foot already creeping out the backdoor and an exit strategy. I'm more aggressive with pushing and it's saved my life from a positional standpoint many times. Whenever we've gotten pushed from behind while setting an ambush at extract or compound, I've gotten away because I'm always moving and aggressively looking for an opening to flank. your team gets caught in crossfire you can dip outside the darksight radius wait for the teams to extract and revive your team pillage what's left and cut. Or dont whatever you want to do. My favorite hunters: Prodigal Daughter, The Weird Sister, Mama May, Hail Mary, Hayali, Mountain Man, Bayou Wraith etc. etc. So many awesome Hunters and lore, I really enjoy tf outta this game. Thanks for the tips!
I started watching you from your bow shorts and man let me tell you something, you're not only inspirational but I can learn so much from you! Thank you for making content ❤❤ Planning to play bow more and to go back to martini haha
tapping W while going up a ladder INSANELY decreases how much noise it makes except for the last few where you go into the animation of exiting the ladder
Great stuff! I think the point about learning the map isn't talked about enough. Trials was a huge help in this for me. It was very frustrating in the early days to get constantly outflanked by enemies or not know there was a vantage point or path in certain buildings.
I wish the last 5 teams I had would watch your videos man. Not claiming I am a pro player in Hunt, I am not. My peak days in shooters are over BUT I still know when to rush, when to hide and how to wait for the moment to clutch. Most of my recent teams had the attitude: "If I die, I die or idc, it was a free hunter anyways" and that really ruins it for me rn. Sure I could go solo but I had my best times in trios in this game but since returning to the game a couple months ago, I feel like so many people are trolling their own teams.. Keep up the cool stuff my man! Love watching your content
One thing I've found alot of help with in teams is one or two in the compound, and one outside the compound in cover in the general direction that hostiles are coming. Give Intel with pings where the enemy are coming from, let them pass you, and when they engage your team in the compound, you start shooting or throwing explosives from behind. A few times I've wiped an entire attacking team from behind because they assumed I was one of their guys shooting, so they didn't pay attention to what was going on.
a good tip if you botch your shot mid gunfight is pull to a spot you have an advantage ie hard cover, height advantage,etc.. you’ll win more gunfight in most fps games
this group I run with has been setting up the craziest ambushes at the extraction points. Trip wire, decoy shots, flanking, pinining them against the map, using one of us as a decoy and the other two rotate behind them. Just dirty 😅
Very good video! Talks alot about how one should play and utilize everything hunt has to offer. But i will admit i tend to ignore a few of the tips myself when i play with my mates, bc we dont really like being in a high level, as its more boring to be in 5-6 star matches than in 3-4 star matches, as we like to goof around and have fun while chatting over actually sweating and 100% need to win every match. Its all about how you enjoy the game, like you mentioned yourself.
Thank you! I agree with what you say regarding rank. The game often stops being fun after 5 stars for me 😂 I value fun moments and make a lot of ridiculous plays which results in me being 4-5 usually 👍
one thing that's also important: if the enemy is unaware of your existence better make that first shot count. you wont get an easier shot after they are aware of your location and existence. learn trigger discipline, not just fire when you spot someone if you are not sure if they saw you or not. rather observe for a bit, wait for the perfect moment to down one of an enemy team to initiate a shootout. especially at longer ranges now. the new speed of sound system throws enemies off so much if down their friend with high speed ammo (spitzer or some high velocity) the delay is higher and with the deathscream around them its hard to really know what shot at you and from where. XD

It just doesn’t get captured well on UA-cam imo. I think I’m still less than 20hrs and already won against a team of three. I wish I recorded it lmao
Just remember, surprise is the biggest force multiplier by a long shot. If you’re able to get an effective ambush, or even just show at a different angle. you’re increasing your chances of success big time.
This is cool, would love to have seen this when I started this game, but trial and error gets you there in the end if you stick to it long enough :) There is, however, one caveat to this: any tactic or knowledge goes through the window if you cant land the shot. Some you can recover from, some you can't.
I got just over 1700 hours in the game. Important tip, avoid sniper towers (both big and small). They have their uses, but generally they are noob traps. Predictable angles, open/limited exits, basically no cover, and the fact that people tend to remain stationary; leads to them being killboxes.
that was really good ! thx a lot for all those advise. I hope one day I can apply all that and be better, this game feels so hard when people are headshotting you 1 sec after they spot you, especially long or medium range. I've been playing solos, duos and trios in the arguably most tryhard server (SA) and, after going past the 1000h mark, I've noticed that just recently I got comfortable with the map, and that is a thing most people overlook. My advice is: understand the map, try to remember the compound's cover areas, where you can shoot and where you can hide, where can you Vault and where you shouldn't Vault. Also, movement, as you said, a moving target is a pain to hit, specially if you know how to move properly (crouch, jump, mouse flicking, looking at the ground). You don't even need to have good aim if you can understand movement and compound placement. Also remember, always have fun, there's no point playing to get mad.
if i may tell a about an encounter yestoday that prooves that concealment is sometimes more powerful than cover. My two teammates gets domed by an enemy team, i was lagging a bit behind so i decide to take it slow. They spot me and start firing, i run into a thicket and start firing back, i see no obvious cover so i decide to sit next to a big bush. The enemies know my location and shoot in my direction, but miss all their shots since they cant see me, i sit completely still and as i can see them come closer through the leaves, i spring out with my Terminus shotgun and blast all 3 down in 3 shots with levering. I felt like a freaking genious after that encounter.
i hit six star within 140 hours of play time, but still need to learn how to solo squad, so thank you so much for this video! Pushing strategies were greatly appreciated
This (hopefully) could change with the engine update but one thing to always keep in mind, don't count on bushes/leaves concealing you all the time. This is where you have to remember this is a video game and has video game specific issues such as some times the bush you are in just isn't rendered in from your enemies view because Cryengine. I try to always stick to hard cover if possible and I try not to use visual only cover unless it's in a place where long lines of sight are not possible, because the non exploit/cheating way de-render happens in this game is that you are so far away from the enemy that stuff just isn't rendered in properly. There isn't much you can do about the Nvidia Profile Inspector and CFG file mega chad gamers because they could be 15 feet from you and have no bushes rendered in. You just gotta curse them out and move on and hope Crytek finally does something about them some day.
One thing i struggle with is how some players can see me and i just cant see them. I sometimes check the kill view and am dumbfounded as to how they could see me from that far, or in a bush, or just from particular angles
Great advice overall, however if I'm allowed to say: you need to pace yourself when talking a little. Intonation and pauses play a major role in how you bring your (important) points across.
I do all of this automatically now after years of practice and consistent 5star+ gameplay, but in the last few months I am getting headshot much more than in years past, and even when rotating non stop, I am often headshot the very moment I peak a new angle. I've kept a record of my deaths in the last week, and 75% of my deaths are due to headshots. I don't remember it being this bad in years past. I am having a hard time not being suspicious in every match now.
@@hextech3161 The nitro express can pen brick walls, but I wouldn't consider them consealment. Likewise, long ammo pens metal plates, but most other ammo doesn't. I see where you're coming from and it's just a matter of definition at this point 👍 Thanks for watching! ♥😃
my problem with crouching in a fight is that i seem to get immediately headshot every time i crouch, i feel safer just staying standing since it's harder to pop my head off. when i'm crouched my head seems to be half my body lol, another question: who the hell cares about their rank? you dont get shit for higher rank, i literally don't even look at my mmr i just don't care, there's no ranked mode or anything?? usually sit around 4-5 stars. one of my friends doesnt like to play together cuz he doesnt want to lose 6 star, he cant even explain why. like he feels like a worse human if he drops to 5 star... bruh? also 6 star players often play so fucking slow and cringe it's 0 fun to play against
Dude, people start " team picking "( looking at profiles of teammates and leaving the lobby ) on random servers ALL THE TIME , especially as it gets later in the night. People not only take the stars that change all the time seriously... But they also think they can " pick a good player ". Doesn't actually work though, I've seen guys with great skills get killed first, and I've seen guys under level 10 make it to the very end.
I have to disagree with the things you said about crouching. Crouching in a firefight makes you a smaller target, yes. But you didn't mention that it puts your head on the same hight your torso would be in when standing upright normally. This means more often than not you get yourself killed by crouching into a headshot that would normally have been a bodyshot. This is especially true for high firerate weapons at mid range as people often go for bodytags instead of heads... Another factor is that crouching limits movement drastically and lining up headshots at crouched players at longer ranges is therefore really easy to do. Otherwise some cool tips in the video! :)
Hey Jake! I agree with what you are saying, however I am not suggesting to remain crouched for longer periods of time but rather to crouch as you are taking a shot. I crouch and stand up again in a matter of less than a second usually. While you might get headshot sometimes because you crouch, I would argue that you can just as easily get headshot by moving predicably and not crouching - so it's a game of chance either way. It really depends on the caliber of player you're against and what kind of weapon/playstyle they have. For example I headshot with scope about 90% of the time, and if you were to crouch when I am about to take a shot I would miss. It happens rather often, actually!
@@REXNOR_TV Very good point, totally agree! I'm just saying that the way you say it in the vid might encourage new players to crouch longer more often, without knowing the downside to it.
@@Jake06972 That's true. Hopefully they don't misunderstand the message, but I also covered the importance of not crouching too much in another guide, so I guess it evens out! 😄
12:55 I'm in the video and I don't like it. 😆 One thing I would add is that a lot of the movement tricks can be feigned to lure the enemy into a better position.
They need to include a pack item in this game so you can actually loot without giving up your playstyle. It will definitely make getting kills more rewarding because all you get from looting dead players right now is exp, hunt dollars, and if you got the trait, it's a consumable. I just dont think thats enough to even get the player to go out of their way for kills it feels way more rewarding to just get the tokens and extract. I think a pack with 1 or 2 weapon slots and only 2 consumable slots and of course while they are in the pack you can't use them.
I’m jealous of the people who have the patience to play games like they are in them. Do I get mad when I die to the dude that I heard once then didn’t move for 10 minutes? Yes but only because I’m mad I didn’t have the patience lol. People seem to make fun of the so called sweaty players but if they’re having a good time what’s the difference. It’s better than the people that push almost immediately and brag how good they are if they win and how much the other team is camping or cheating when they die. If a game legitimately stresses me out, no matter my play style, I’m probably not having fun 🎉
but crouching has a con - Make you more liable to get headshoted by players who aims for the center of body mass. When the hunter is crouching (depending on the terrain) the head is jutted more out than the rest of the body.
Long ammo will still penetrate, and so will all FMJ bullets, but it also depends on the range. There are many instances where a Mosin will pen a metal sheet, but an Uppercut will not (with regular long ammo).
"Things can very easily go south if you start taking damage meaning the best means of survival is to not take any hits in the first place..." Well...no kidding :D
5 star: eliminates almost whole lobby, last team standing against them begins shooting and large fight ensues . Most players run out of ammo, final blow delivered by a Hail Mary dynamite thrown with pitcher. As you and your teammate go to loot, you both get suddenly one shot by a bomb lance guy who came out of nowhere. 6 star: waits in bush and watches the whole lobby fight , then ambush the winners while they are looting
Difference between 5 and 6 stars is simply 6 stars are willing to hold angles and bush camp for 45mins. My opinion anyways.
Not too far from the truth! :)

Thank you! Glad you liked it! ♥😃
great vid. very informitive!
Thank you! ❤️
i hit six star within 140 hours of play time, but still need to learn how to solo squad, so thank you so much for this video! Pushing strategies were greatly appreciated
Glad you liked it! ❤️
The Spartan Movie 100? What happened to the other 200😂 love your vids
They had the day off! 😆 These were some other spartans. In all seriousness though, that was supposed to be 300 🤣 Thank you! ♥
Thanks REXNOR! 👍👍
❤️😁
Fair point and important to keep in mind! 👍
One thing i struggle with is how some players can see me and i just cant see them. I sometimes check the kill view and am dumbfounded as to how they could see me from that far, or in a bush, or just from particular angles
Practise helps with that. The more you play the better you get at noticing pixels out of place 😅
Great advice overall, however if I'm allowed to say: you need to pace yourself when talking a little. Intonation and pauses play a major role in how you bring your (important) points across.
Thanks for the feedback 👍
The limit of crouching is that you are easier to headshot + very slow. Crouching should be used sparingly.
Yep 👍
1:08 unless they have a nitro express, of course. There is no such thing has cover from the Nitro Express
👍
Papa Rex with his trophy bows showing the younglings how to Hunt.
🤣
dynamite kill at extract on the duo team was diabolical
😁
I used to play PUBG solo verse squads. It's so much harder without modern weapons, lol.
Brb, burning through my starting hunt dollars, lol.
👍
You mean to tell me that shift W'ing isn't the best tactic? 😮 Joking aside, another brilliant video Rex!!
Haha! 😃 Thanks! ♥
Damn. Sometimes it do be like that! Not uncommon in 5-6 stars though 🤷
Just joining the community, first 150 killa finally hit lada
❤️
I was in another tab listening then came back at 10:48 and thought i was having a stroke because bro was wearing a wig lol
Wig? 🤔
@@REXNOR_TV stop lol Thanks for your videos, I no longer scoff at the bow and do quite well with it now 👍
crouching can also backfire in lower mmr when people were aiming at your body and get a free headshot instead
👍
FYI wood walls would be considered concealment not soft cover.
That’s not true. Most special ammo does not go through wooden walls hence it is cover in a lot of situations.
@@REXNOR_TV sure… but bullets do pen, special doesn’t but it’s still concealment because stuff CAN pass through.
@@hextech3161 The nitro express can pen brick walls, but I wouldn't consider them consealment. Likewise, long ammo pens metal plates, but most other ammo doesn't. I see where you're coming from and it's just a matter of definition at this point 👍 Thanks for watching! ♥😃
Amazing guide, Thank you ! However idk if I can replicate it.😂😂
Thanks! ❤️😁
What skin are you using?
This was Witch Hunter I think. Currently I play Sea Wolf
crazy how people can still hear me crouch from 20m away tho with the new update :)
Wilderness pact and problem solved 👍
@@REXNOR_TV not as a group, especially in 6star lobbies they just pinpoint you at any time any where.
my problem with crouching in a fight is that i seem to get immediately headshot every time i crouch, i feel safer just staying standing since it's harder to pop my head off. when i'm crouched my head seems to be half my body lol, another question: who the hell cares about their rank? you dont get shit for higher rank, i literally don't even look at my mmr i just don't care, there's no ranked mode or anything?? usually sit around 4-5 stars. one of my friends doesnt like to play together cuz he doesnt want to lose 6 star, he cant even explain why. like he feels like a worse human if he drops to 5 star... bruh? also 6 star players often play so fucking slow and cringe it's 0 fun to play against
👍
Dude, people start " team picking "( looking at profiles of teammates and leaving the lobby ) on random servers ALL THE TIME , especially as it gets later in the night. People not only take the stars that change all the time seriously... But they also think they can " pick a good player ". Doesn't actually work though, I've seen guys with great skills get killed first, and I've seen guys under level 10 make it to the very end.
i raised a star using this guide
Awesome! 💪😁
How do I flank an enemy that is perfectly tracking my head through cover and concealment?
You fall back and do a very wide flank where they can’t track you any longer, or disengage from the fight 👍
One thing I would add is that a lot of the movement tricks can be feigned to lure the enemy into a better position.
Haha! 💪
@@REXNOR_TV For context, I'm the dead team-mate. I remember this fight. More specifically, I remember gettting focused by two teams during this fight.
🤷
That was the good old time, before the 1896 update.
Now, forget all that : just run and burn.
🤷
The difference between 5 and 6 star lobbies is that the 5 stars have fun xD
😂👍
Poor spartan numbers got dashed from 300 to just 100 😁
🤣🤣🤣
In low tier crouching gets me headshot cuz every aims center mass lol
🥲
I’m jealous of the people who have the patience to play games like they are in them. Do I get mad when I die to the dude that I heard once then didn’t move for 10 minutes? Yes but only because I’m mad I didn’t have the patience lol. People seem to make fun of the so called sweaty players but if they’re having a good time what’s the difference. It’s better than the people that push almost immediately and brag how good they are if they win and how much the other team is camping or cheating when they die. If a game legitimately stresses me out, no matter my play style, I’m probably not having fun 🎉
🤔
I suck but I'm sneaky as f lol. It helps make up for my lack of skill. 😂
😂💪
Just got to 6 star by playing fun, it is possible peeps
I was a 3 star with 0.75 kd
Nice! 💪
I can not just sit there and hide, so boring. But then, I get wrecked by someone hiding when I push. ☠️
😂
but crouching has a con - Make you more liable to get headshoted by players who aims for the center of body mass. When the hunter is crouching (depending on the terrain) the head is jutted more out than the rest of the body.
👍
bro sheetmetal stops bullets? why am I only finding that out after 800h of play, I thought it was just like wood or whatever.
Depends on the ammo type! In this example I used regular compact ammo specifically because it doesn't go through 👍
Long ammo will still penetrate, and so will all FMJ bullets, but it also depends on the range. There are many instances where a Mosin will pen a metal sheet, but an Uppercut will not (with regular long ammo).
@@REXNOR_TV oh I see, thanks. I thought I was trippin'
It’s kinda funny, I feel like pubg taught me a lot of useful skills for “large scale” shooter games 😂
Probably did 💪
"Things can very easily go south if you start taking damage meaning the best means of survival is to not take any hits in the first place..." Well...no kidding :D
🤷
Good old times when you did not need a phd to have fun in a videogame...
What? 😂
the movie is 300, not 100.
Yep
The movie 100💀😂 300
🤣🤣
Makes yall wanna use a bow don’t it lol
💪
👍🫡🤌
😊
5 star: eliminates almost whole lobby, last team standing against them begins shooting and large fight ensues . Most players run out of ammo, final blow delivered by a Hail Mary dynamite thrown with pitcher. As you and your teammate go to loot, you both get suddenly one shot by a bomb lance guy who came out of nowhere.
6 star: waits in bush and watches the whole lobby fight , then ambush the winners while they are looting
😂
1-2 star lobbies are boring
3-4 star lobbies are a mix of boring and engaging
Upper 4- lower 5 star lobbies are the most fun because everyone is aggro
👍
you are a waller , right?
A waller?
