    Hi, thank you for doing this guide! I'm a little confused at 9:06 where you say to hold it at the white wires so it doesn't twist the wires. I've tried it so many different ways and it always twists the wires inside. The rubber housing that the individual wires go through does not twist with the wires, so the end up twisting way too much and pulling loose from the connector inside...

    • @TechWithBrett
      @TechWithBrett  27 днів тому

      Some of them have a natural twist to them but as long as you make sure there are no place wear it turns 360 degrees around it will look best. If not, it's not the end of the world.

      I’ve had this exact same issue. The manual makes it seem like the waterproof silicone ring is detachable, but it is not. Very frustrating.

    Looks great! My house will be super simple to install as I only have 1 even roof line to deal with. Hoping these go down in price a bit though.

    How are these compare to Govee pro permanent lights?

    • @TechWithBrett
      @TechWithBrett  Місяць тому

      Very similar with color and app function. These almost appear slightly smaller on the home during the day which is a good thing, but still are very bright.

    Where can you purchase more connector kits? My house has numerous elevation changes that will require roughly 8. Also, can you connect two 100ft packages together? I want the extra plugin in case I have extra, that way I could use the extra on a separate project.
    Thanks

    • @TechWithBrett
      @TechWithBrett  Місяць тому

      You can from their website. Yes you can have a total of 200ft connected together, but I think you might need the correct the power supply. So you could get 2 100ft sets and if you want one side to be longer then buy an extension.

    Which is better and why, eufy e22 or appeck pro?

    • @TechWithBrett
      @TechWithBrett  2 місяці тому +2

      The color profiles are very similar. The biggest benefits of the Appeck are they can go up to 200ft, they can be cut and customized to the home, and the Smart Life app has way more animations for customization of your own light scenes.

    @ddmouland Місяць тому

    Hey! I saw in the video that you can choose each light individually. I was just wondering if you can have every light a different color one light at a time or just so many lights in a row like the Govee which I believe is 4 or 5 lights one color at a time. Thanks!

    Good app review, matter of fact the only app review. I have to watch it an over and over to memorize settings. Is there a quick way to set 200 lights to alternate colors short of touching individual lights in the sketch mode 200/2=100 times ?

  • @jacksonexteriors4211

    • @TechWithBrett

      I haven't tried this specifically but you can create scenes in the app where it should be able to control them both at the same time.

      They actually just released a Y (Wye) splitter on their website where you would be able to do this having the lines start in the middle. When you do this it does make animations and lights mirror each side starting from the center of your home.

    Returned ours after 1 week. One strand quit. They said whole thing had to come back instead of just sending the one that quit working. That told me their CS doesn’t like resolutions. Went to Eufy instead and no problems in over 6 mos.

    Hello, I’m planning to purchase the Appek outdoor lights Pro .Have a question. Am looking at videos, but no one seems to talk about this mode. Does this light kit has the mode to turn off each individual lights and other words can i choose any individual light to be turned on and off?

    • @TechWithBrett
      @TechWithBrett  27 днів тому +1

      Yes it does. See 21:45 where you can change each individual light. These can then be saved as scenes. I didn't show specifically how to turn of off the individual lights, but there is an eraser button and that turns the light off.

    I seen you have installed several different brands of outdoor permanent lights now, if it was your money which set would you buy and why? Eufy, Appeck, Govee...........

    • @TechWithBrett
      @TechWithBrett  2 місяці тому +3

      Great question Jason and there are many factors for me that might be different for you.
      My house is pretty complicated so I could go with a Pro Appeck or Govee set to make sure it aligned perfectly to the home. These also have the best range of white lights which I like to have for year round lighting.
      Now the Govee app is pretty versatile but I honestly think the Appeck Lights in Smart Life had way more customization on animations than I had seen in the Govee app.
      All the lights work with Google or Alexa but the Govee Lights 2 or Pro work with Matter which can be used with Apple.
      But I think Eufy is great for the easiest install because the bracket is built into the light housing.
      Either way they are look very nice.

      @@TechWithBrett First I want to thank you for responding back! I have one more question I hope you can answer... I had some time to play around with the lights on my livingroom floor using the app. I was already able to make some killer shows. My question is do you know of a way to actually run my shows as a group or sequence (one after another)? Like I figured out I can like some shows it comes with in the app and I then can run them as a group for a certain amount of time I select between each show. But I don't see a way to do the same thing for my shows. That will be the only thing I dislike about these lights. Not enough to make me I not wanting to buy them if I knew this info before my purchase. Anyways thank you for taking the time to make a video. It was very helpful with trying to figure things out.

      You've never hung Christmas lights? That's exactly what these are for, but for every holiday that you would want. And in the off season, just use the warm white or cool white as just normal lights for the house. All bundled in a DIY kit, instead of paying 5k+ that a "professional" would charge for the EXACT same item. That is the appeal to them.
