    Already put up my permanent outdoor lights here in Jersey last month, but still decided to watch to hear your therapeutic voice and fantastic install. Looks great !!

    I just got two 98 ft kits to go around my entire house. Installation has been easy, and they look so clean with the wire covers! However, going up the ladder is so scary. My ladder has a joint in the middle, and it feels like it'll snap at any moment. We've only installed 4 segments and a bit of the next one out of 5th segment out of a total of 12 segments. We only had 2 afternoons to work on it, and the cold weather isn't helping. Fingerless gloves seem like a great idea. Thanks for making this video and giving us your excellent advice!

      Driving all those little screws takes time, but it’s nice to know they’re well secured.
      Fingerless gloves are a good compromise to hold those tiny screws.
      Glad it was helpful 👍🏻

    I’ve had the big kit since October but afraid to install it until I hear something about addressing them individually for non/holiday lighting. Great video! Thank you!
    Btw, I used a laser at the other house with our Govee lights to make sure it was straight, but that guide is also nice!

      A laser is a novel approach. 👍🏻

    We’re an Oelo dealer and have done dozens of Oelo jobs. They’ve really pushed the Nanoleaf product and for the price point it seems like a great option. I will be hanging mine this week. One thing I love about these over the other similar priced options is the products permanent approach to install. Hopefully the app becomes more robust, that’s a bummer considering how awesome the Oelo app is.

      I’d be happier if someone could figure out how to control them with WLED.

    Nice video, I like that you leave in the oops moments we all have. I watched your other videos on the RGB lighting kits and I went with Bright Home Lights 100' kit. While I like "ease:" of the peel and stick, you ended up doing exactly what I would have done and screwed them in place. I like the features of the BHL kit and that it's almost 5x the number of led lights for the same length. These are a great alternative to BHL and a lot easier on the wallet to boot.

    • @handydadtv
      @handydadtv  17 днів тому

      BHL is definitely next level, especially if you take the time to conceal the wires.

    Nice video. I appreciate the review. While I like the idea of rigid plastic wire cover channels, there is a huge advantage to be able to move the lights closer together if necessary. I lined the front and back of my house with Govee lights two years ago and in order to keep lights centered over windows, doors and other architectural features, I needed to squeeze many lights along the run slightly closer together. It’s not obvious when you look at the house from the street but I can tell that lights are centered over windows and so forth. I may go back later and cover them with some kind of custom-cut length plastic channels. Also, the joined sections of wire at the end of the Govee lights are the same length as the distance of the wire between each light puck, so that spacing isn’t an issue.
    Edit: I like seeing how easy it is to cut the channel covers!

    • @handydadtv
      @handydadtv  19 днів тому +1

      Yes, they cut easily and the wire can be folded under the cover so you can’t tell it’s been shortened.

    I love mine, solved the schedule issue by setting them to power loss recovery and them plugging them into a smart outlet that can use a schedule, now every time they power up back to the last setting you had them on

      @@handydadtv Tap on the lights in the app, go to the gear icon and it should be an option, They DID do a firmware update maybe a week or two ago, but didn't say what was new in it and it still doesn't have playlist functionality OR a native timer.

    Great video! Appreciate not cutting out the miscues and pointing them out to us all.
    What the heck Nanoleaf? Not accounting for couplers to match the length of a regular wire in between? Geez!

    Question- with these lights was the spacing even amongst all the lights aside from the snafu at the beginning? Just wondering if thats due to poor QC or a fluke.

    • @handydadtv
      @handydadtv  13 днів тому +1

      The spacing is slightly further where the strings connect. I would never have noticed if I didn’t need to move them. You can’t tell when they’re on the house.

    I have decided that these are the lights I want, but they seem to be sold out everywhere. Does anyone know a sources for availability of 98 foot Nanoleaf lights? That ladder looks like a pain. I’m thinking an articulated boom is in order.

    That is so much better than Govee. I bought Govee last season and put it up this season. I wish I had waited and purchased Nanoleaf this season. The wire covers are much better than the exposed wires.

    My 150ft run doesn’t light up all the way. The last 2 strings are extremely dull and some don’t work. Support won’t refund me since I’ve had them over 30 days even through I just installed them. See if they will replace them or not as I’m still going back and forth with support. Sucks you can’t schedule them from the app

      How do you do that? Two ladders? And then wipe it off as you go?

    • @techhealthandfood9952
      @techhealthandfood9952 17 днів тому

      @ yes I used two ladders 6 foot at the lower part and an extension at the top. My first clip at the lower part I use the provided screws and drilled it in 3/4 of a way so I can attach my snap line and just went up to extension ladder and snapped the line. I did not take the lines off with a cloth because you can’t see them once the lights are installed plus it was 30° out, and my hands are freezing if it were in the summer, I probably would’ve wiped the lines off.
