They are a radiofriendly metalcore band. Nothing bad about that btw. Vice Grip is a solid metalcore song. I like them they are awesome live, despite the massive use of prerecorded sample and despite the fact that it's really accessible music.

George you got it on the nose tbh, "homogenized and commericial/cheesy" that's kinda what this era of parkway drive and forward seemed to be. I highly suggest to go back to them on an older song. Anything big from Atlas or older I'd say check out. Unfortunately after Atlas they went for a more commercialized sound and they just didnt age well. Atlas I'd say bridges the gap between catchier music and metalcore pretty damn well so my vote is for "Wild Eyes", one of their biggest songs while still being good imo. Their older albums like deep blue are definitely on the heavier side if you guys are looking for that more

I think Reverence felt authentic and was fine. Ire has always been and will continue to be a heartless monster that actually didn’t happen.
Love that you’re doing Parkway, but man, should’ve done something off the album Horizons or the songs Karma or Wild Eyes to start off with.

As a big Parkway Drive fan, I appreciate the honesty in the opinions here and I love hearing different perspectives. To me this is the perfect song to get you through those extra reps at the gym or to wild out in a mosh pit to. Keep up the great work LIV!

I've been really pushing for In Flames, but I really disagree with Take This Life. Good song but I think for a first listen it's too much for them. I'd recommend Only For The Weak or really anything off Clayman

I wouldnt say down hill. Their new albums are also incredible live and have made them a more well rounded band if anything they have branched out more to the hair metal fan base. They just headlined Wacken and i was there let me tell you every single metalhead there was into them. They will be headlining shows for years to come now because of their last 3 albums evolving the band

Dedicated is banger. It goes hard from start to finish. It keeps you headbanging like how Gojiras heaviest matter in the universe does.
Few years ago , this song became my lifesaver and help me through depression , broke uo , grief etc .....rhough fight but as PWD WOULD SAY : one life one shot give it all you've got , its the hope for the hopeless!

I've seen only a few other channels do punk reactions. Everyone reacts to the same songs over and over. These channels need some new blood. Rancid, Ramones, The Clash, Bad Religion, Bouncing Souls, Dropkick Murphys, The Damned, etc. I'd love to see some ska and psychobilly as well.

Parkway Drive is indeed a metalcore band. This song is more of heavy metal though. If you want metalcore Parkway I'd say listen to Wild Eyes

This is definitely their more "homogenized" version of themselves. I implore you to check out any song off of their first 3 albums for a good representation of why people do love this band so much.
If you do another Parkway Drive song, listen to one off of KWAS, Horizons, or Deep Blue.

This isn’t what PWD is about. This is an incredibly generic metal song with not much going on. There’s so many other songs they could have donde, even from that same album. And did you see the reaction? You can see the disinterest in their eyes and they thought it was ok.
I listened to this song before there heavier stuff it's what go me into the songs this and wild eyes were the first 2 to be honest out of the older stuff the only songs I like are carrion, wild eyes, karma and dark days
Mathew Mclennan wild eyes and the album that song is on is my favorite so that’s a good one to start with. But from this album they could have chosen Crushed or Dedicated, which are really good.
Sleepwalker or Wild Eyes been waiting on a Parkway Drive reaction forever and this is what we got oh well thankful u guys finally checked them out but revisit soon
Been binging your guys' videos and I love your enthusiasm, it's really refreshing to see how well educated you two are about music and how enthusiastic you are about different styles outside of your wheelhouse.
Couple of suggestions/requests for you guys: one would be to check out this fella Colter Wall and his live version of The Devil Wears a Suit and Tie, and two would be for you to revisit some Queensryche again, maybe something from their earlier discography like Take Hold of the Flame or the Lady Wore Black.

I heard this song once on the radio in 2015, liked the guitar, and had that post chorus stuck in my head until today when I finally just plugged "hope for the hopeless" into Genius. I had begun to wonder if it was even a real song lol.

Bring Me The Horizon - Crucify Me, Sleepwalking, Death Breath
It was definitely written to be a type of anthem to play live in big venues, they are a fun band to see live. Their previous album was very dark and IRE was more fun and positive, some fans hate the album but I love everything they have released. Thanks for checking them out!
