Parkway drive is a metal core band from australia. They are christian but their lyrical content is on point and very accurate to current events. I recommend bottom feeder, wild eyes, writings on the wall, and crushed

Props to you for giving metal a chance! I'm honestly surprised this song from Parkway Drive has such an accessible pop sounding chorus, yet still retains the extreme metal sound. Those guitars definitely contribute, especially the harmonies.
