Back in the day, Nocona used to advertise, "We fit any foot! 4A-4E". Even if you had a weird-sized foot, even if you had to special order, you could always get exactly what you wanted, in your size, at a fair price. It's sad to see Nocona and the other Berkshire companies lower their standards so much. :(
I love the old nocona boots and I'm glad I recently got a vintage pair which was excactly what i'm looking for, just a bit tight. If I would've had the chance to custom order back then, I would have.
Every time you talk about the width of a boot, I think a lot of people with the so called average sized feet just don’t understand the importance of the width. I have purchased a smaller sized men’s boot that was a little wider and they fit me perfectly. However the men’s sizes usual start at a size 7. For traditional boots I think that companies should forget about gender and just expand their width sizes. This just might get people wearing the correct size and width boots they should be wearing. Not only would this help people get their “correct size and width” but people who think boots are uncomfortable may realize that they really aren’t uncomfortable when they fit right. They would find out that they just had the wrong size and width. Great video Jeremiah.
Rough life!! Damn I don't see many 15Ds around but I know some Dan Posts have that size. I'll be sure to mention range in sizes from now on in my video reviews
Absolutely important! I'm finishing up a pair of men's size 4 EEEEEE (yep there are 6 Es there) plus extra build up. She can't buy well fitting boots off the rack.
I got into cowboy boots 2 years ago. Bought a pair of lucchese classics at 9D, i definitely should of gotten 9.5D, but more so a wide. I didn't know till later that im actually a wide size thanks to trying on some Los Altos boots. Now im stuck with an expensive closet triphy till i find buyer 💀. Thanks for the infor Jeremiah, wish i saw this sooner.
I'm a size 15 4E and can't hardly find anything to fit my feet. Shoe and boot manufacturers seem to think all men wear a size 10 D. Sorry, some guys have a larger foundation than most. I can't even walk into a shoe store to try on shoes.
We have the same struggle. I’m a 12.5B with a low volume foot especially on the top, most places don’t sell half sizes over 11.5, and a lot of brands 12s are way too short, and 13s are usually super big for some reason.
Wow thank you. Are are definitely the most knowledgeable and certainly the most helpful guy in this industry! This gives me something to think about because I have been eye balling a discontinued grey cowhide hondo boot on eBay that is an 8e so it may not be a good fit for me.... man I really want that boot in 8d!
Jeremiah Craig : Np buddy they look so badass can’t wait to try it on. the only problem was it probably took about 10 mins to decide which one to get 🤷🏼♂️ lol. i went with silver cause the only belt i have that takes buckles is a black belt with silver pyramid studds so, But I’d like to get the brass sometime too.
I bought my first pair of boots recently and I got a pair of Ariat size 12 D they feel good but I don’t like how wide they are even with relaxed jeans you can still see the boot stretching the jeans. I think I need 12B hopefully it’ll look better
Great video! I am actually a 12 A. 11.5 in the toe. 12.5 to the ball. I always have to compromise when it comes to shoe size. In your boots…what would you say is a decent leather pinch in the instep? None? 1/4”? ??? I have been trying on a lot of boots. Seems like the best I can do is 1/4” pinch with “comfortable” toe room. 11 D feel good in instep tightness but they pinch my toes and the ball and arch feel a bit short. Thinking about filling in space with a thin insole or 3/4 with heal/arch/plantar padding.
One thing I've been pondering... a cowboy boot is a cowboy boot. So unless there is a gender based design or color on a boot is there anything stopping a guy with narrow feet from getting a women's boot but in his size so that he can have the narrow width? If he is a size 8 mens he will have to increase to something like a 10 female, but that would let him get a narrow width that fits properly. Once it's on your foot who would know the difference?
Not at all. I do it all the time. I take a 10 B in mens' boots, 11 B in womens'. If I was half a size bigger, I wouldn't be able to pull this trick. Womens' boots usually stop at size 11. Women with longer feet... buy mens'!
I've been thinking of doing this for my wife. She has wider feet so all of the women sizes crush the sides of her feet. I might size down a mens boot and see if that gives her the width she needs.
Hey Jeremiah...man, your videos are really educating me. I'm a size 9.5 EEE what size can I size up to and size down to? 10 EE and 9 EEEE? Is that about right? Buying online is so frustrating. I can get away with EE. But my perfect size is 9.5 EEE. Thanks for putting up with my dumb questions...Ha Ha.
My big brother is skinny, he is 1.76m tall and wears size 8 running shoes. So I buy size 8d or 7.5d cowboy boots for him? Size 8 is 41 and size 7.5 is 40.5?
Lots of big feet cowboys in the comments,! You really can't tell right away if the boots are perfect fit you have 2 wear them a couple of days or more, and then you notice sores around ankles. 91/2 Ds worked well 4 a few days ,( then sores), but 10 ee was no problem except loose, I think a 10 e would be perfect?, also tried 9 1/2AA and could not get on. 10 e you think?
I'm 13 and the shaft of the boots from my local boot store are ridiculous .. the diameter is just a joke.. and apparently they can't do anything.. and this 14 shaft boots don't look the half of big as the 13 shaft looks
You, sir, want boots that fit. If Chisos don't make 'em, you don't want Chisos. But write them a note. They might make an equivalent in "womens". Boot's a boot.

I agree. I guess it's the cost of doing business. Still it may be leading to more of a rise in custom boot makers which is ok with me too

I’m a 9EE that’s a pretty common size for men. Love wearing boots the leather lined are by far the best and most comfortable. Keep up the good work!!!
Love it! You pretty much have whatever options you want! I'm jealous haha
Same

Exactly! I hope this points folks in the right direction when trying to find the right size for them. Thanks Carol!
lol, now your stepping into my sizes, but I'm usually a 15D. Nice lesson on cowboy boot width!

@@JeremiahCraig That sounds good. I'm sure others wonder about their size availability too. Thanks Jeremiah!
I wish I had found this video before I started shopping for cowboy boots. Thanks.
I love the simplicity of the black boots!
I'm a 11.5AA and I found Allen Edmonds to be great. Also, Rios family of boots do a decent job with A widths!
Absolutely important! I'm finishing up a pair of men's size 4 EEEEEE (yep there are 6 Es there) plus extra build up. She can't buy well fitting boots off the rack.
What the???? Are you a duck?
I can imagine! Thankfully there are awesome custom boot makers like you who can get folks into boots!
@@Starch-Wreck nope! She has down syndrome so by nature has very small very wide feet.

So glad you're enjoying the content! Thanks!
I probably have about three pair of Nocona from the 80s in my basement size 11 D two lizard in One leather
A great video Jeremiah.
Thanks!
Yooo! i so gotta get a belt buckle omw to the store now. 😃
SWEET! Just saw your order come through. Thanks so much!

Cool video I didn’t know they made them that narrow
First time I've seen it in person too!
Good video, and you right companies don't make a single E width and they need to because that's my size 11.5 E...lol
Another great video, Jeremiah. So I just received a pair of Tecovas, 13 EE. Too wide. Based on your video, would you recommend trying a 14 D?
Its not just cowboy boot manufacturers. That 2 size thing is pretty much all shoe and boot manufacturers.

Good topic. No one would know the difference on similar men's boots.
Being so long, they looked pretty goofy sitting on the table, but when you put them on they didn’t look bad. A little long, but really not that bad.
Not bad at all just more than I'm used to haha

It funny I bought a size 11 python boot which was sols as a 9.5d fit perfectly , also have 10.5d which also fit, I'm asuming the 11 was a b width
do they take returns ? ~ JDS/CT
It doesn't look that goofy from the vid lol. But when your're looking down on your feet its probably a different story.
Very different haha. Much more than what I'm use to

prefer play acoustic guitar with unwounded thirds by doing this i guess get nashville sound
15 D is my size. I can wear 14 D in an emergency.
I know I’m a D width lol... so 9.5B? Yes?
Woah those are like clown shoes!
Yeah finding anything other than a D or EE is a needle in a haystack.
It can get frustrating haha!
How does a wider, shorter boot fit the same as a longer thinner boot? Your feet are still the same length!!
I wear a B, I want Chisos. They only make D. Wtf do I do?
You, sir, want boots that fit. If Chisos don't make 'em, you don't want Chisos. But write them a note. They might make an equivalent in "womens". Boot's a boot.
Get some manly women's boots and you'll have the right width!👍 just kidding
haha I would need size 13B women's! Another rare size...
12EE is big ur 12D
