    My bespoke cowboy boots by famous bootmaker Lee Miller at Texas Traditions are almost complete! We went to Austin, Texas, to film with Lee as he finished making the boots. In the first episode Lee walked me through all of the design, it was time to start work on completing the boots.
    The next stage of production is to complete the toe box. This is arguably the most important stage of construction. As Lee explains, this is the first thing anyone see, so it needs to be perfect. So sit back and enjoy, as Lee walks me through the entire process of constructing the perfect Cowboy boot toe box.

    It is wonderful to see teachers passing on the knowledge of their life long experience. There is also a sadness that the current generation lacks the yearning to learn. Hopefully this video legacy that is being created will inspire and guide the ones who will later follow. There will always be ones who come with a natural desire to learn. They may be unexpected or even overlooked at first. Never the less these videos will guide them to greatness in their own time.

    Great video Kirby & Co.. Love watching a master at work, and Lee is like the Phillipe Dufour of boot making. And hearing about Charlie - I've always wanted a mentor like that. I had one for a few years in my line of work but nothing quite like Lee and Charlie. Its important to a young man or woman to have a good mentor who can give you a head start. Its also a good way to mature much faster, something I definitely could have used at the time.

    I love that he's showing a process that took him so long to evolve. There's no reason not to. It won't help any of the companies making mass produced boots with cheap ass materials. For the very few it might help, I don't get the feeling he'd mind if they learned something from him and made better boots because of it.

    As a runner who wear shoes that encourage toe-splay, the toe box looks very narrow on the boots. Are the boots designed to be very toe-friendly?

    • @ArtU4All
      @ArtU4All 2 роки тому

      I have a feeling the box is there only as a finishing piece of the aiming design and the “breathing chamber”. The toes as such end well within the comfortable width of the boot. It would be nifty if someone could make a computer image showing foot distribution in this boot design.
