Hopefully the boot brands will start bringing back more widths. They need to remember that the width is a very important factor in determining the correct boot size and fit for their customers.
Something you didn’t cover about the Brannock device, you have to stand and put your full weight on it. Also it’s best to walk around for an hour or two before measuring your foot.
I was reminded of the importance of this recently when I bought a pair of Dan Post boots. I usually wear a 10.5 EE and this time I ended up with a 10 E. This has to be the brand, but the store didn't even have a Brannock device and finding one in a store these days is like trying to find an old relic in a museum. I don't understand this at all.
I didn't know that "true to size" meant that the size was read from a Brannock device. I always wondered, but never asked. Thanks Jeremiah!
Excellent tutorial JC. ☘
Happy belated birthday Jeremiah!!! 🎂🎉
I remember the first time I put on a pair of EEE. It was like magic. I was probably late 30's and it was the first time I had put on shoes that really fit well.
Great point being made as you get older. Your your feet get wider when I was younger. I was a 7 and a 1/2. D, I'm a 7 and half triple. E
So important to know your width especially with online shopping. I currently have a pair of Tecovas in my shopping cart but I decided to hold it there so I can stop at a shoe store to use a Brannock device before placing my order.
One way is go 2 boot barn and experiment with different sizes, but like I said before they show no problems until wearing them a few days ,and then if no sores then great it's a perfect fit
Hello Jeremiah, Thank you for all videos you provide very happy with all the info. But would you consider expanding your content to do both boots and Cowboy Hats?
I use my dress shoes as a jumping off point and found out the 7.5 ee was really a no go.just got a pair lizard skin vintage olathe j toe in 7.5 3e and fit just right. Oh, by the way, all my dress shoes are vintage. You can't go wrong with vintage. Anything great vid jeremiah
I just used a Brannock device for the first time today!
I have a couple pairs of boots but not convinced I have the right fit. I’ve watched a lot of your videos lately and this is the only one where to mention the arch fit. Could you
Elaborate on how you feel the arch fit should be? I’m looking at a new pair of boots and can feel pressure in the arch which I’ve never felt if boots before.
Rod Patricks in Fort Worth…they have AA in some boots- bought a 10 1/2 A - best fitting boots I have ever owned
A brannock fitting is a great starting point. I'm a 9.5 and while not all boots fit me in that size, I know it's a safe gamble to start there.
I’m 72 and still comfortably wearing boots I purchased 30 years ago. Love your show!!
Happy birthday 🎉
Excellent job on an important topic for boot fit. My understanding, however, is that feet get longer and more narrow with age. That's my experience as well.
Great video. Very informative and beautifully edited! I have SO MANY boots that just don't fit correctly. Now I know a possible reason why.
Happy Birthday
I'm proof of what you say Jeremiah. Last April I bought a pair of Redwing 1155 work boots and though not really a cowboy boot, they are for puttering around and saving my good boots. Bought the same size I had worn 30 years ago and although a bit snug, I thought they would break in and feel better. Guess what? They are still too tight and can only wear them a couple of hours at a time. I do believe my feet have widened in 76 years from the D width I have always wore.☹
You need a stunt foot, to review D boots
Where can I get EEE Boots. No one makes them anymore
Boot barn has these. The staff doesn't know how to use them though!
Fingers crossed boot brands start to remember how important width can be in finding the perfect boot fit.
Don't forget heel width is important too
That's what she said.
I'm 51 and my boot size and width haven't changed
I’m 51 and mine have changed quite a bit. As weight changes and arches change, fit changes. Biggest thing is each hood fits differently anyway. I but for fit rather than number.
Width is always a problem for me in cowboy boots 😐 they are often too wide
wide in heal or all over
@@robertbush8589 all over usually
Get your foot measured and try to get a boot in that width and length . Good luck .
