- This is a clip from the leaked patch of Triforce Percent shown at SDGQ. This custom sequence was put into a vanilla copy of OOT using TASbot. This is a mod that adds in the ACE that Tasbot did at SGDQ triforce percent OoT ACE Showcase.

Using an Arbitrary Code Execution (ACE) exploit in Ocarina of Time to rewrite the game’s plot, get the Triforce, and bring together the community for the future.
Triforce% is a unique type of artistic work: a “speedrun” performance of a video game which uses glitches to modify the console’s memory on-the-fly to create a new story and a new experience within the game. The game cartridge and ROM are completely unmodified; the changes to the game content are accomplished entirely through glitches and controller input. A robot is used to stream controller inputs extremely quickly into the console, but in principle, a version of this could be accomplished by a perfect human player, just much slower.
The storyline created through ACE ties together beta content from Ocarina of Time-some content actually left in the cartridge, some shown in pre-release screenshots and videos and recreated by the Triforce% team-with urban legends about OoT from the early days of the internet, creating a plot leading to the Triforce. Then, Link uses the power of the Triforce to warp to the future, becoming his Breath of the Wild self and bringing in messages of unity from the live Twitch chat, all in real time on a Nintendo 64 console via controller input.
Triforce% was performed live at Summer Games Done Quick 2022 and by itself raised over $227,000 for Doctors Without Borders.

I was like "I DONT REMEMBER THIS FROM THE GAME, I CLEAN 100% THIS THING SO MANY TIMES!!!" and then I read the coments and everything was fine.
This is coding that can only be unlocked with the help of an AI randomizer. There was one specific mod that managed to form a full story out of all the un used coding. It was beautiful.
This would be really convenient though. As great of a game as Ocarina of Time is, the process of changing eras got pretty tedious after a while. Play the Prelude of Light, interact with the Master Sword pedestal, wait for the cutscen to play, play the song that will bring you closest to where you want to be, then finally go to your destination.

@@jacobaffleck5581 Pretty sure this part was not from the unlocked beta content but added specially for the Triforce story they were telling. They went off the rails from the false pretences they started the run under pretty quick.

Fun fact, in the real game, you can adjust the pitch of the notes using the joystick. I was playing through it in the last month and discovered this on accident and was shocked! It is not required for any songs, which makes me curious as to why they left it in. Does anyone know?
To give a proper ocarina emulator, they care alot about details. And i guess it was simple programming, that didn't recquire a lot of memory
Maybe they had more Plans but couldn't finish it till the games release.

In my experience of playing N64 as a kid, I think games were seen a lot more as virtual playgrounds than these linear progress dopamine machines. They probably left it in cause it's fun to play with
Did you know that theres an adapter for the N64 that allows you to experience these games in HD. Its fun, but it can't compare to the ol' box TV set.

This hits home for me because I bought a 6 hole Ocarina of time from Song Bird ocarinas about 10 years ago and this was the only song I learned on it before entering the workforce and ultimately forgetting my hobbies.

I hate that they tried spinning this as all content that was on the cart. They essentially used tasbot to make a romhack and it was terrible.

I remember when I used to play OOC as a kid, my friend was taking guitar lessons and explained to me that you can basically play whatever music you want via the ocarina if you know the notes, always found it really impressive how many songs he could play from within Zelda OOC 😂
