Range Rover Sport 8 months in : What's it like

- My Range Rover Sport L320 has just passed it's first MOT after 8 months under my ownership.
What do I think of it Good or Bad!!!! How good is it on fuel? - Авто та транспорт
Here's a thought. Put the water bottle in the cup holder. Problem solved.
But that's for cups...lol
😂
Yeah we should make our life not to become more complicated 😂😂
I don't think I have ever used door pocket storage 😂
If u can afford one get one. Best looking range rover ever made. One day I hope I'll get to own one.
They are great, still happy with it after over 4 years of ownership.
Pretty sure I’d take a rangey with no storage over a 20yr old Skoda with storage thanks lol
Me too.. The longer I drive it the more I like it..
david baugh I’ve got a 12 plate autobiography sport in white, having some little issues with the ace system at mo, random red triangle turning left and clunking on idle, low pressure in the ace system. I’m hoping clean fluid and filter will do the job
@@louisjames1062 Hope you can get it sorted easily. .
Got one same year. 32mpg on a 200 mile motorway run averaging 60mph and cruising at 90mph.
That's not to bad. My best was 27.8mpg from a full tank from Birmingham to Newquay then pottering around a bit.
Good to have small door pocket to avoid people keeping junk in them then have rattling noises
You shouldn't talk about your wife that way.
@@Win7ermu7e lol funny
Respect to Range Rover. It’s a smooth ride
The best.
Those seats look white but if you rub a small damp magic sponge over them, i bet you'll be shocked.
My RRS had cream seats. Looked clean until i got the magic sponge out. Ouch
Thanks, I'll be giving it a full valet soon, I'll do a before and after.
Why would you want to get into the door bins anyway when the doors are shut.? The door bottle challenge on cars absolutely does my head in as it’s utter tosh when you have a boot.
Nice review.. I've just bought one and like you a tad dubious.. but staying possitive!
Thank you!
Many thanks. They are great cars and so good to drive and just be in. I've owned mine for just over 4 years now and still love it. I'll be doing a few more videos on the RRS very soon. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours.
@@davidbaugh Really looking forward to driving and owning a Range Rover..twelve days to go and counting!
@@davidbaugh Look forward to your new video's
Many thanks!
The lack of space in the doors I see as a positive 🤣 My other half has a habit of leaving her rubbish in there in my current car, packets of crisps, water bottles etc
😄 I think you may be right. Can't say I've used them in the RRS. I think if I look in mine I could probably find 2 year old parking tickets..... they just about fit. The door pockets in my Rover P4 are even smaller.
No one uses cd's anymore but you would normally leave them in glove box
I do..
I'm sorry, but 18 months between 2 oil changes? Omg... Thus this is a huge vehicle the engine has to work harder than for example in an A6 3.0 V6TDI. It means more wear, earlier fillup with dirt in the oil (and it's filter)....
If I'd own one of these awesome cars, I'd definitely do an oil and filter change, A/C system flush and fillup if it is needed, every 8-10 000miles/12months, and gearbox and transfer case oil change every 50-60 000miles. It helps so many things to keep it in good shape... (and I'm no bullshiter, I'm a student of vehicle engineering in our University).
If you change them like what I said, there will no opportunity for the dirt in the oil to seize so many things, like turbo's oiling tubes and so on...
Othervise my absolute favorite vehicle, just one thing: I'd bought it with the 3.6 TDV8.
You're right, it's booked in for a service and gearbox oil change. Thanks for the comment,
And one overlooked oil services/changes...the diff oil
And one overlooked oil services/changes...the diff oil
Got an audi diesel good oil and new air filter always drops the fuel consumption considerably
Nice car!!!
Nice review. I have a BMW 330d 2006 3 litre diesel turbo and that will do 44mpg on a motorway run. Strange the RR does only 27.8 mpg same run
Thanks. I think the best I've managed is about 33mpg. 44mpg is very good.
@@davidbaugh prob down to the RRSport weighing more
Yes I thought you had an X5 (misread) yes that would account for it the range rover is about 900kg heavier!!!!! ☹
Hi there my friend! nice review i must say. I currently own a Mitsubishi Shogun Animal 4x4. The only issues with them is they rust heavily underneath. I do like the Land Rover Discoveries and sport models but kind of put off with comment faults they have like suspension, electronic hand brake, steering wheel motor failure, horn failure, locking & engine start and so on. If you don't mind me asking......what's the insurance on this model, road tax and what the year....:)
thanks glad you liked it. Mine is a 2010 and the road tax is £555 and the insurance around £450. I do like the land cruiser, not owned one but travelled around parts of Africa in the back of one about 17 years ago.
@@davidbaugh,super cool....any electronic or mechanical issues?
The size of the door pockets might have something to do with the improved crash structure of the side of cars in the last two decades. I'm no expert but I don't think cd's and water bottles will do much to save your life....
Perhaps.... But the size of the seats gives very little space for large door bins. On balance I love those super comfy seats. I only use the bins for a few micro fibre towels which they just about cope with😉
Any comments about air suspension?
When I first had the car, a week later it was leaning to one side. I took it back and the compressor had failed so it was replaced and the suspension calibrated under warranty.
'I don't like the storage space? Then goes on to show 2 glove boxes (and says their a reasonable size) 2 cup holders and some storage then a huge cubby /fridge.??? Strange I felt depressed after 2 minutes.
If you watched and listened I said the storage in the door pockets was not good, but said the other storage in the glove boxes etc was adequate to good. By the way it's " they're a reasonable size"
@@davidbaugh Carry on with 'English lessons' The reviews are rubbish.
@@stringer-ik1pc Every comment helps the channel, thanks.
To clean your seats use a dilute Woolite mixture in a spray bottle and some white cloths. It will transform those grubby cream seats.
Thanks for the info, can't say I'd heard of the stuff.
Any chance of another update...
Having a few jobs done in a few weeks, so hope to have a couple of new videos out very soon..
david baugh hopefully nothing major!
She says time u got rid of it said if is going I'm going with it
what about the cambelt? have you had that done?
Yes, I had it changed about 18months ago.
I fancy one of these, but at the moment Ive got a Lexus RX and I had no faults in 10 years! Its hard to walk away from a brand that was so reliable but I think these RRS are more comfortable and since I'm 55 this year I want the ultimate luxury and comfort, so long as there is enough power this is all I need
They are certainly comfortable, my wife and I tried several SUVs from Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q7, X5 amongst others and none matched the comfort of the sport. If you want the ultimate the Autobiography. Also there's a reasonable range of engines. I think due diligence is the name of the game, I bought independent and will have any work done by a local independent LR specialist. My wife suffers with a bad back and the RRS got her seal of approval. Good searching.
@@davidbaugh I've seen an Autobiography on Autotrader real tidy 70k but they want way over book price for it, I guess the dealer thinks he can get it? How many out there would pay over the top for a really good car I wonder???
10 year old lexus.?? You must be minted. 😄😄😄
How many miles has she covered?
Just shy of 111,000miles.
Did you still have the range
Yes, still have it, and enjoying it. I'll have some more videos coming soon.
I’m having the same problem with huge smoke when accelerating hard, any tips
Hi George I responded to your other comment on the other video.
Try getting ecu remap. My wife had it done on a diesel and now it has more torque and no smoke.
@@CryptoPay5555 you have a split turbo hose. Or worst case scenario is a cracked intake manifold.
@@mrcri99in2 terrible recommendation don't listen to this guy. Cars smoking, let's remap it! 😫🤣
❤
20 year old skoda SUV?
For the life of me i can't think of one 🤔
Would love one but cant afford the fuel and it aint coming down in price.
It is one of the thirstiest cars I've owned, especially around town. But then again on a par with its rivals.
No engine issues?!
No, everything is fine.. The only thing is a Restricted Performance light that shows up intermittently, the reason for this is a faulty or dirty MAF sensor on the inlet to the primary turbo. I will be doing a video on rectifying this issue very soon.
How many miles does it have?
Just over 110,000 miles.
2 mins in all I want to Know is how much
?
I have done an update video and give the total cost after running it for 12 months, and any problems I've had. this was just a likes and dislikes.

Good is sale o no
Can you give for talk about car
Hi, what would you like to know?
Somethin is not always not quiet right wth a rover product
Or a Tuk Tuk 😄
Says everyone who has never owned one.
I get more mpg from my 3.6 tdv8
You have a problem somewhere
No problems. The quoted figures for the average (real world driving) are 24mpg. My mpg suffers as I have mainly done short urban journeys. On a run it's not to bad.
Why didn't you buy the Skoda then.?. Always a compromise so stop ya whingeing
Just stating a fact.....coming up to four years ownership and still love the sport. Wouldn't swop it for anything else............well, maybe an Aston DBX or a Lambo Urus!!! or........😉
Not enough storage?
Buy a Transit....!
20 year old Skoda ,you mean a skip
lol..... Skodas ain't what they used to be and even those old ones are very collectible now!
Buy a land cruiser or lexus lx
Although I haven't tested either of those SUV's of the 5 or 6 we did try including a Q7, Cayenne, evoque, discovery and a Lexus the sport was the most comfortable, which was one of the priorities for us.
I used to own a Landcruiser, Nissan Terrano Daihatsu & Isuzu and they performed very well. I currently own a Mitsubishi Shogun Animal which is really nice but would love to own a Discovery 4 or sport model :)
😄😄😄If you've zero class. So they make anything in your country.???
Land cruiser is a tractor very reliable yes but refined it’s not there bloody awful
jaguar land rover build quality crap against german cars
Can't afford one eh ? schmuck.
Plenty of owners of Audi, Merc & BMW 4x4s report issues too. Interestingly, most of those use older versions of the air suspension that you'll find in a Range Rover.
