You took a vehicle most of us weren’t interested in and made a series. And I have watched all of them and enjoyed them! You have a way of making videos that are just interesting, pretty much regardless of what it is. Love the content
Did the same exhaust when I had my 2010 Range Rover Sport, loved it and it lasted with no issues. Good sound, you can hear the performance engine, but wasn't to loud.
Nice, I own a 2008 Land Rover LR3 with the 4.4 V8, I installed a catback SuperSprint exhaust, I love it because you hear it when you get on it on highway. Normal street driving it has a nice quiet sport sound.
Year or so ago I pulled out the dual Flowmaster 10 series mufflers on my Supercharged F-250. Went to a single Magnaflow straight through unit. So happy with the change! Still sounds aggressive in the upper rpms but tame on the highway. Even my dad cut out his factory exhaust on his F150 for a Magnaflow unit.
Hey @AutoEdits, I think we're neighbors judging by your driving footage! That commute was my commute for years, Cahuenga was my exit. Anyway, I just bought a white 2011 L320 HSE and I think this exhaust is exactly what I'm looking for. I don't want to wake the neighbors with it, but I do want to at least be able to hear that it's a V8. This sounds amazing!
The stars must be aligned and some have said that great minds think alike. I just purchased a 2018 Range Rover sport 518 hp and just had a 18 inch magna flow install remove the two front resonators and did a muffler delete sounds absolutely fabulous haven’t had a chance to actually get the vehicle out on the road and experience it but can’t wait to do it.
I agree, upgrading the exhaust is fun. I put a Borla Exhaust on my Ram 1500 and it was fun to compare that huge, stock tank of a muffler beside the new one. However it was as one of the last upgrades I did to the truck. 😆
Another great video! I too being a bit older am starting to appreciate milder exhaust. But what I really like is adjustable exhaust. Where I can make it loud when I want, but also quiet when I am on a longer drive or the like.
They say magnaflows will "break in" after about a month. They'll get a little louder. It sounds much better than stock. I dig it. I still like louder exhausts on my v8 stuff. On v6's and 4 cylinders, I've noticed that I don't like the tone.. regardless of the engine or vehicle. I built a single 4" system on an old 350 v8 pickup with 4' worth of glasspack mufflers. A 3"id×24" glasspack after some flowtech headers and y-pipe into a 4" adapter and a 4"id×36" Cherry Bomb Salute straight through round bodied muffler. I rounded it out with a 4" tailpipe in the stock location. It has a deep tone, but not overly loud until you dip into the throttle. I like to add some 3" 3-bolt header collector flanges to make the system serviceable. The 4" section is tack welded with band clamps. It maintins higher exhaust gas velocity for scavenging from the single 3" bottleneck section and creates the deep tone from the large diameter tailpipe. I'd hate to lose any low end torque from the already anemic 190hp v8 by adding a big exhaust system. I think it's a nice balance. I like the high flow magnaflow mufflers. I put one on my ex wife's Tahoe LTZ a few years ago. It uograded the sound significantly. Not overly loud, but a more sophisticated performance sound. I only changed the muffler and left the rest of the system stock. It was a 14"L 5"×9" bodied straight through center inlet - center outlet oval muffler. I put a 5"id × 10"L straight through resonator for a semi tractor truck on my supercharged small block k2500 pickup with single 4" system. According to David Vizard's equations, single 4" open pipe will flow enough to support 657hp on a zero-loss exhaust system. She's rowdy at full song but the resonator allows you to hear the whistle of the supercharger at idle and lower cruise rpms.
@@AutoEdits I hear people talk about "back pressure" in the exhaust and how it affects horsepower, performance, etc. I do like the change in sound. I'm with you and sound versus performance. I see guys with these small cars and loud exhaust but can't get out of their own shadow. I like the " low moan" sound.
That is a great sound and you did a good job with the install but I'm wondering if you'll be able to pass a CA emissions test when it comes time to do so.
Hey Jason, love this video, I'm wondering if you might have some help or advice for me... ve got a 2012 LR4 that I really want to do an exhaust upgrade on. Its got the 5.0 v8 but im not seing any simple setups for my ride. Ive heard guys say put a borla muffler on it and keep the stock resonators, ive seen guys saying keep the og muffler but upgrade rear resonators... Let me know if you have any advice for me. Id like it to sound similar to yours, I want a good sound but nothing obnoxious. Thanks!
I've been SO happy with this system. I checked both magnaflow and flowmaster and neither offer a system for your vehicle so it's going to take some fabrication to make something. This setup is an X pipe/muffler with the resonators removed so I would lean that direction.
There is a small performance gain with this exhaust system but I’m all about the sound! Most people wouldn’t be able to really feel the difference but it’s nice to know.
I guess you have never done exhaust in an area where they salt the roads because of snow. Rusty bolts and clamps, usually have to cut them off and replace. Makes it a pain in the back side job. Most times there is no option but to hack it off with a grinder or saw.
The illusion of speed. I'm an old fart that went through the loud exhaust phase when I was younger. After awhile I realized how obnoxious it sounded and really didn't do much in the way of performance. Even my 7 mpg Mustang with all the speed goodies ran better with turbo mufflers instead of the fart pipes.
I have a 2010 L322 SC and like how quiet it is when on the highway. Would be nice to turn up the volume with a switch. Do you have any experience or advice on installing an exhaust valve?
I don't think an exhaust cutout is a good option for these vehicles. I prefer a nice overall sound which this has. I also agree with you that these trucks actually sound pretty darn good stock and this kit just enhances that.
my AWD 6.2 truck is loud and is bright lights for a reason. cuase nowadays cars, especially in the morning will drive without paying attention. and just run mock on the road. so if you can hear and see me headed your direction 9/10 your not gonna do something stupid and cuase accidents due to hard braking make ppl swerve in front of me because your NOT paying any kind of attention to the road. welcome!
18 minutes of video and only 7 minutes may be relative. Next time, on the same vehicle, remove, what you call the muffler only for a much better result in sound and performance, with a straight through pipe. Sound is much better and perform, and if you remap it, awesome.
Howdy! Check out this T-shirt I just made autoedits-store-2.creator-spring.com/listing/calibrated-elbow-autoedits?product=934

Thank you so much for the support across projects... means a lot!!!
I do agree on that...from the jeep jk to the ram truck all the way now to this range rover....keep it up sir Jason
Now you’ve inspired me to get out in my freezing cold NH garage and install the Flowmaster cat back system I got for my 93 F-150!
YIKES! Bundle up but it'll be worth it!!!
Did the same exhaust when I had my 2010 Range Rover Sport, loved it and it lasted with no issues. Good sound, you can hear the performance engine, but wasn't to loud.

Sounds great! You made the install look easy . Exhaust is something that I have never wanted to tackle.
You should!
@@AutoEdits I think the job would require a cutting torch 😐
The use of 4Lo to get up the ramps is a pretty slick idea!
It makes going up much less dramatic!
Another terrific video. Lookin good Jason. And the sound is awesome. 👍💥

I appreciate hearing this so much! Thank you 🤘
Awesome! I love the sound. Tuned. 👍👍
Thanks dude! It makes a big impact on me so I always spend effort on this.
Magnaflow never disappoints.
Darn right 🤘
Agree. Love doing exhaust. Best first mod. Also Magnaflow is number one and I get their systems or mufflers before looking anywhere else
Yeah!

I was truly impressed with the new Raptor R adjustable exhaust.
@@AutoEdits Yeah, it and the Mustang are Rey great implementations. I have considering adding a valve in front of a resonator in my JK.

WOW... that was very nice! Maybe I should get a Magnaflow for my LR4. Thanks for an awesome video.
Go for it! I felt so strongly about how much better this made driving after commuting to work that I shot that whole last segment again!!!
Excellent travail mon cher ami!
Well done as always.
Thanks!
Ive been wanting to put an exhaust on my 03' WJ Overland. That 4.7HO sounds so nasty. She needs to be heard more!
I really enjoyed my WJ with that engine... have you seen my video in death valley with that thing... ua-cam.com/video/kBk7mK-28Mc/v-deo.html
@@AutoEdits I do remember that video! The 4.7ho rips on the street. Such a fun vehicle with QD. Grabs instantly!

I kinda like the new tips!
I gotta get one of those exhaust hanger removal tools

Can you pass Ca Smog with the magna flow ?
Yes, it doesn't effect smog equipment.
