  • Ever pass by an Auntie Anne's stand in the mall/airport and smell the amazing scent of the soft, warm, buttery pretzels? I am excited to share this easy and enjoyable recipe with you to whip up for your next movie night, game day, after-school snack, or appetizer for any time! It is sure to be a hit with your family and friends 🥨 Serve with your favorite nacho cheese dip, or if you're feeling adventurous you can try it with my spinach and artichoke fondue recipe! 😋
    ______________________________________________________________________________________
    Soft Pretzel Bites Ingredients :
    - 1/2 cup Milk
    - 1/4 cup Water
    - 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
    - 1/2 packet of Yeast (1 1/8 tsp)
    - 1 cup Bread Flour
    - 1 cup All- Purpose Flour
    - 1 tsp Salt
    - 1 1/2 tbsp melted Butter
    - Pretzel Salt (for topping)
    *Tips:
    - Boil Pretzels in a Baking Soda Bath prior to baking for a shiny crust. This gadget makes the process easy and fast! amzn.to/3fyjA1e
    - This bench scraper is very helpful to slice the perfectly sized pretzel bites with your dough! amzn.to/2PsZ4Ew
    - Pretzel Salt is optional, however kosher salt melts into your pretzel during baking and loses its texture. For best taste results, I recommend Pretzel Salt amzn.to/2XxN2Or
    Baking Soda Bath: (do this process prior to baking)
    - 1/3 cup Baking Soda
    - large pot of boiling Water
    Egg Wash:
    - 1 Egg Yolk
    - 1 tbsp Water

    Also these reheat super well in the air fryer! I put mine at 200 degrees (the lowest temperature on my air fryer) & cook them for about 5 minutes or until they’re warm again. They get crispy again just like when you first made them.

    Such a great recipe! I didn't have bread flour on hand, so I only used all purpose flour. 1 and 3/4 cup was more than enough. After the pretzels were cooked i brushed them in butter, and dipped them in yellow mustard. Yummy 😋

    Hi may I know wats d difference of bread flour and all purpose flour? Is there any other alternate that we cud use instead of bread flour?

    • @SugarMagicbyCristina
      @SugarMagicbyCristina  3 роки тому

      Hi Shermin! 🥨 Great question, bread flour has a higher protein content that gives the pretzel a chewy texture. I have experimented with all purpose flour as well but the finished product is more similar to a dinner roll than a nice, chewy pretzel. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions 😃

    • @SugarMagicbyCristina
      @SugarMagicbyCristina  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Valarie!! 🥨 My grandma did not use a thermometer when making bread, so it is definitely possible. I recommend for your milk to be warm but not too hot- too high of a temperature can kill your yeast. Microwave for about 30 seconds and check, then 5 seconds at a time until warm. Check that your yeast is bubbling so it has properly activated for the dough- hope that helps! Let me know how they turn out 🤗💕

      Hi Kourtney! Half a packet yeast is equivalent to 1 1/8 tsp, hope that helps and you make some pretzels soon 🥨 let me know if you have any more questions 💕

      @@SugarMagicbyCristina how important is bread flour. I was going to make the dough on my lunch but I only have all purpose on hand

      I have experimented with this recipe using all-purpose flour as well, but it makes the texture more similar to a dinner roll. The bread flour makes it more chewy like a pretzel because of its higher protein content! So bread flour will make it as close to a pretzel as possible 🥨
