    I love watching all your videos and especially this one. I have been going back and forth on getting the vox ac4 TV amp for a practice amp but after seeing this little number I am getting the hotone british invasion with their nano cab which sounds great. I have heard the other nano amps that have been reviewed on youtube and from what I have heard they do exactly what they are supposed to do, and the bass head is pretty awesome too! Todays amp technology has come a long way and wish these were around in the early 80's when I started to play...but better lte than never.

    another cool thing about these nano legacy amps is headphone out is speaker compensated and give decent tones if you want to run into a board. Also, running these without a speaker load is ok since they are solid state, and by using the effects send, you can send this into a bigger amp for a bigger tone. I run my Brit inv. and heart attack into my evh 5153's power section. it's awesome! with the right pedalboard switching system, you can integrate these little amps into a board setup and have multiple preamp sections to run into a bigger amp.

  • @Driftuner
    @Driftuner 8 років тому +1

    This amp is actually so damn good, that for home use i sold ALL of my other amps (including tube amps) and use only the Brit Invasion now...with the money from my other amps i bought a bunch of pedals to make this little beast as versatile as it gets, and i have to say, i couldnt be happier. My advice: run this through a Celestion Vintage 30 loaded cab (mine is a 1x12 because i really only use it at home), and the very best advice i can give is to use a graphic EQ in the loop with boosted highs and lows, to give it that "tube like" presence and resonance. Also I put a Mooer Hustle Drive in the front, which goes for crystal clear clean boost all the way through to fuzz and anything in between (overdrive, crunch, distorion, high-gain, fuzz, its all there), and the High Peak mode on the Hustle Drive gives the amp those tube-like harmonic overtones, which makes the amp sound even better and even more tube like, a reverb and a delay on the loop and youre golden for basically any tone you could possibly ask for. Also keep in mind: this amp is VERY "guitar sensitive", so make sure to test it with other guitars when trying one out..

  • @treychilton

    On your recommendation I bought the Big Joe Texas Screamer at the Dallas guitar show straight from the Big Joe guys, it's replaced my Way Huge Green Rhino (also a great pedal) and the Big Joe guys were awesome.

    sweet little amp! if you haven't tried the orange micro dark, you should definitely give it a listen. I bought the small 8" speaker with it, which sounds great, but I plugged it into a 2x12, and it was unbelievable!! I couldn't get over how such a small amp could make such a huge sound!

  • @WhoWouldWantThisName
    @WhoWouldWantThisName 7 років тому +13

    I just always thought it was pronounced "hot tone" and they just did a mash-up of the two words into "Hotone" so it comes out sounding like " Hah-Tone". In any case, this seems badass. See what I did there, nudge, nudge, wink, wink say no more. Now I must check out the others they offer.

  • @apeekaboo
    @apeekaboo 8 років тому

    +Phillip McKnight, I agree it's a cool amp.
    I bought a Bugera G5 Infinum and a Hotone Mojo Diamond, and threw in the British Invasion and the Purple Wind just for comparison. I returned the Bugera G5 Infinum and the Hotone Mojo Diamond. The Bugera sounded fine, but I couldn't justify the cost/weight/space when I could get two Hotone amps for less money...
    I now have the British Invasion and the Purple Wind, together with the EHX 44 Magnum and a Palmer Cab Merger, all on a small Pedaltrain Metro board. This gives me a very flexible setup that I can use for jamming with friends or using at a small gig. I have two 10" Marshall speakers that I can choose to connect both to one amp, or do stereo out from my pedal board to two different amps. The British Invasion is an excellent pedal platform.
    BTW Phil, what's the word on your patreon page? Myself an several other people got a refund of our pledges for this month.

    It definitely seemed to be lacking in the high end with this video, but I'm sure that's due to sound compression in the rendering process or so other reason.
    For what it is, I don't think you can beat it. A 5w amp head the size of a pedal. You can place that beauty on your pedal board as a back up head or maybe even a pre-amp, not knowing exactly how pre-amps work. I think it's a great versatile little amp head that's in some ways better than other mirco-amp heads.

I believe you can run the signal out to a pa and go gi-normas. I don't know what the ohm rating is on your ORANGE cab so.....can't say. Hope this helps. Do you have to use a cabinet or can you plug headphones in directly?

      Hi mate, I've been using the British invasion for months now, mainly headphones as I was sharing a house abroad and having no cab. The headphones out sound good enough for practicing. The overall sound of the line out and auxiliary input is a little muffled, meaning it is not as open and clear as when you are just listening to music or using great cab simulations. But, honestly, I play with a Marshall headphone, and the quality is well enough for me to practice. Plus there is a cool little feature which is that the sound of the amp will always turn down a little bit automatically once you are playing any songs from your smartphone or computer.
