How to Find CRAPPIE with 2D Sonar (How to Locate Crappie)

Here are some tips that I use to find crappie using a 2D sonar unit. Finding crappie can be tough, especially if you are not sure what your fishing electronics are telling you. I explain how to find fish (crappie) while adjusting the depth range, chart speed, cone angle, and color pallete on your sonar unit. 2D sonar is virtually the same for all units Humminbird, Garmin, Lowrance, and Ray Marine.

This was more helpful to me than the "watch me fish" videos everyone else want to do on UA-cam. I was surprised to see the crappie suspended away from the brush pile in both images. I've always been looking for them/expecting them, to be surrounding or inside the brush pile. Is this common?
