    I haven’t seen in a house built in the states with 8 foot ceilings since the 70s everything here is nine and 10 foot ceilings and vaults and pop outs everywhere A stick of bead for every sheet a board in the house this would be drywall heaven or what we would call Gravy , plus no upper angles to tape holly shit you guys got it easy

      I agree I’m 20 years old and work in buildings all over the Bay Area and learned how to run a tape tech bazooka in units that are 10 feet and all have angles and have to tape several of them a day to makes sure my whole team gets some good cash if our units where like this I would run through them . I think my little brother that’s 9 could tape these this is a CAKEWALK most people just wont understand 🤦🏻‍♂️he said crazy Americans smh we actually work for ours sir

    Thing is that here in America it doesnt have to be tight it needs a layer of rock for fire protection wich are fire rated walls once you have drywall and you have taped the angle wich we just fire tape no need to be completely finished if its taking crown molding or cornice as you call it. And that is by code here in America unless your crown molding is fire rated.

      True. Reminds me of one job i had when the man said "I want everything ready for paint. " To which i replied, "The ceilings are getting crown molding so all they need is taped." He said, "I repeat, everything ready for paint." To which i replied,"Yes, sir."

    Hi mate we have problems with the tape dragging,do you have any tips.Thanks

    • @meagaindave2049
      @meagaindave2049 5 років тому

      Start or finish a run with a little extra to compensate for the drag. Careful not to let the extra pull the rest of the run off the wall when gravity decides to take over.

    • @meagaindave2049
      @meagaindave2049 5 років тому

      Preferably leave the extra at the beginning so the drag will pull the extra perfectly into place. More applicable to a long run rather than shorter ones.

    • @justinmacks1786
      @justinmacks1786 5 років тому

      Make sure you oil up real good before you start it will help with drag and a lot of new guns have a adjustable drag now on the wheel brake

    My main concern with the bazooka is you have to thin down the mud a lot to be able to run it through the machine meaning the glue is not as strong

    • @Maxkil
      @Maxkil  5 років тому +1

      Very true. As well if you run multi purpose mud you have to wait too long to coat it again. It's ok if your working by yourself like Gary

  • @malvarez8484
    @malvarez8484 3 роки тому +1

    He’s worried about the mud drying out 😆. Is that why he mixes it so thin. I use a 5 gallon pale in like 30 -45 mins

    • @Maxkil
      @Maxkil  3 роки тому +2

      Hey mate the mud Gary uses won't dry out on him and it is thinned out to run through the machine smoothly however you will then need to all ow for drying time, he does the whole job himself, people with a few guys in the crew use a fast setting compound that you'd be scared to put into this taper they use a different style tool like the Tapepro Mud Box that way they can second coat after morning tea

    The tape in the angle gives around 3 minutes more before the fire reach the wood on the roof. And in terms on fire and firefighter 3 minutes could save your life and home.

  • @meagaindave2049
    @meagaindave2049 5 років тому +3

    A trick i learned, wait, i know this is YOUR video not mine. You're on camera and I'm not. More than one way to skin a cat. To each their own, if it works don't fix it. Having said that, the trick I've learned is not to use the bazooka razor to make cuts at the angle but rather to keep rolling onto the next wall. When coming back to wipe down, simply slice the tape in the corner with your knife in your pocket. The tape will have pulled from the wall a bit before cutting and look like hell. But when it's cut it'll lay perfectly on each opposing wall. It's quite remarkable.
