- This video is Part 1 of taping a house. If you'd like to see a particular process the following times depict what happens at certain points of the video:
0:00-8:32 Prefill and Prep
8:32-16:27 Applying tape with a Tape Tech Bazooka
16:27-21:46 Applying tape to the inside corner
21:46-33:09 Applying paper faced corner bead
33:09- END Spotting screws
I keep coming back to these series man super comprehensive, thanks for making these! they're a gem for DIYers with a knack for the best tools to use for X- application.
Wish me luck
Glad you like them and good luck to you!
Good work in the tight hallway.
It can certainly be a bit tricky. My worst nemesis are the small closets.
Nice gravy work, wish I didn't have to do ceilings. Me and my boy would blow through 4 of those a day and still not put in 8 hours
You need to find some new hangers I'll be back charging the hangar
There are certainly ways to make the tapers life much less stressful! Keep up the good work.
Really good job and explained thanks for your time put on the video 🎉
Glad it was helpful!
great video just wonding you are so organized with machine tools - do you evre use a nail spotting tool to apply mud over the scews a little quicker?
I would love to try one! From what I've seen they are pretty nice.
where does he share his video with us?.
i always prime the exposed brown paper with an oil based primer of it has a chance to bubble
Thanks for the tip!
You had me up until you used light weight mud to bed your tape with. Not enough glue in it. Should be using heavy all purpose for bedding tape.
Thanks for the comment! I have never used the all purpose mud. How is it to work with compared to the Light Blue?
@Red Pine Ridge Farm its definitely a lot heavier to work with but you can't peal your tapes afterwards like with the lightweight mud. I get tons of jobs repairing popped tape seems because they used lightweight to bed the tape with
For me it's about the same for knife work. All purpose definitely harder to sand, but that doesn't matter since finish coats are with plus3.
You can also just mix in some glue to your lightweight and you've got a nice taping mud.
@@robertm5969 Can attest to adding glue to lightweight mud for taping. Been doing it for long time. Save ya from buying different types of mud. Usually add elmers glue or carpenters if elmers is not on hand for purting up tapes
Where do you buy your bazooka tool thing from and how much roughly price wise,?
I purchased mine online through All Wall.com and I think it was around $1400.
Just curious who is accountable for the poor sheet rock hanging. Will that reflect your pricing?
They are students who build the house for a class in school. This is most likely their first time hanging drywall and is intended to spark interest in the trades. Normally it would justify a price increase, but for this situation no. Thanks for the question!
Hi keilioso
Hello Jocelyn!
Rotto zip guy sucks, hangers suck
Yes, there are times I'd like to walk back out!
