His video caught my eye, reminds me of my 57 2dr post I bought 20 yrs ago, from Laredo Texas and then shoved in my brothers barn, still there yet, I did put about 40 miles on it when I bought it before I shoved it in the barn, believe it is a 350 and is a munci 4spd, I had planned on putting a big block in it, spent first couple years just buying the parts for big block, brake kit, shackles, radiator, Just to have most of my parts stolen out of it, so it just sat since, Another one of my someday projects!!! Lol.😊
I really believe getting a car on the road is the most important step to start restoring it. My car with need a ton of body work but that’s a project for another time. Right now I just want to be able to drive it to work. Start small and finish 1 thing at a time. But use it while your restoring. I’ve fixed a lot of projects in a parking lot broke down.
If the gas tank has some gas in it you can put an air hose on the carburetor intake line and blow through the whole line to the tank. There’s also a drain on the bottom of the tank that you can drain it.
You may try drive shaft from like a 89 to 94 Chevy pickup truck. Get rid of the carrier bearing. There's a guy in Oklahoma that will do this for you. He cuts them down. He's really inexpensive for what it is but that'd be a heck of a trip for you. I share that with you to give you an idea of something you could do somewhere else. Glad to see you're working on this 57
@callahangarage hey that's great. I didn't realize I had watched so many of your episodes last night / early this morning. We used to use those driveshafts I mentioned in 67 through 72 trucks. Glad you found the drive shaft
If you're not going to restore this 57, maybe you could sell it.. This girl needs to be completely redone to last another 50 years... my first 3 cars were 57 Chevy’s.. brings back lots of memories watching this video....
I’ve never been about restoring car. I’m about making them usable and driving them. The last 57 wagon I drove a 2500 mile ride trip with my son and had amazing time.
Love the build but I'd have to fix that rust on roof and repaint it and I'd probally repaint it white. No offense but just because it's a "cheap daily driver" doesn't mean it has to look like a steam pile of rust. Even if it's a cheap quart of that ready to spray Dupli-color paint from a parts store or even a couple cans of White spray on bed liner. you can get 3 cans of the Samuari White Bed Liner for $40 plus it up the value of the car when it's done, that's alot of bang for your buck.
I will be replacing the roof and fixing the rust however my first goal is to be able to drive this car to work or a least the gas station. I will also be painting the roof white when we complete the roof replacement. Thanks for your comments.
Yep, I'm here for the long haul. Can't wait to see more videos on this 57 !

Thanks please share it if you don’t mind.
Nice
210 wagon 2 door
Just took it for the first test drive
Those vette wheels look great on that. 😎
Thanks. I need to order tires but was unsure if I was going to keep them.

So the gas tank has holes in it. So we replaced it. We’re replacing all the fuel as well in the next episode
Kool ol 57
Thanks it’s a family heirloom. Hopefully it will be on the road in a week or two. I got everything to get running and driving.

Pick up a drive shaft yesterday.

Thanks for all your comments. It really helps the algorithm.
@callahangarage you're welcome 👍 see even one more comment just to boost a little more

I'm retired and I don't drive much or far but my daily driver just happens to be a 57 Chevy wagon.
That’s awesome. Would to see a picture of it if you have one
