Can't wait to see what I'm good ,and lady frodo are up to in Rhun.
I'm surprised they've even gave this the go ahead first season was horrible
I’m here bro
💩💩💩💩
Gandalf: which ring did u get?
Galadriel: Nenya business
The black goo could be the balrog. When Gandalf and the balrog fell into the lake at the bottom of the Bridge of Khazad-Dum, it became "a thing of slime, stronger than a strangling snake".
Its Venom
but wasn't balrog already in khazad dum in season 1? I thought they teased it or something.. I need to rewatch it soon I don't remember it very well.
@Lars951
Huh? Guess you never read that part about the Balrog named Durin’s Bane in JRR Tolkien’s own writing………..🤨
hint the one that fought Gandalf at that bridge in Khazad-Dum…….. 😉
……. “A thing of slime, stronger then a strangling snake”……. Hahahaha……….. try reading Tolkien instead of something you found on the internet……….. 😂
@@bkh8528100% right
What I was trying to explain, perhaps not clearly enough, is that it's in the balrog's nature to be either a thing of flame or a thing of slime. My thought was that the black goo could be Durin's Bane in it's slime state.
If you pause at the right frame in that scene with Galadriel and Elrond you can see that the figures surrounding them have glowing blue eyes. I heard a theory that it's barrow wights... even though they shouldn't exist in the second age.
cool. More shit that is fucked from this show
Cirdan the Shipwrights is confirmed for season 2 and he’s the original owner of Narya, not Celebrimbor. :) Cirdan survives all the way until the 3rd age when Gandalf arrives at the gray havens and is given Narya as part of his arrival in Middle-Earth
He should stay on the topic, then it goes like this. 😁
Pretty sure those are Barrow-Whites surrounding Galadriel and Elrond.
Nice theory!
The Barrow wights didn't exist until the third age
@@johnord684 it's well established that the show is not following the canonical timeline or else we wouldn't have seen the Balrog of Khazad Dum in season 1.
@@jasmanypadin2728 So expensive fan fiction then ?It is terrible writing and acting for a billion dollars.
Looks good, and maybe even taking steps to address some of the issues raised with the first season. I didn’t think it was all that bad, but there was plenty of room for improvement. Thanks for the breakdown Charlie!
Ugh August is sooo far away 😭. Glad we finally get the lord of gifts. Kinda feel bad for Celabrimbor knowing what's going to happen to him
I've seen a number of people ask when the show confirmed that the Stranger was Gandalf. "Confirmed"? That didn't happen as such. However, after the Stranger decided he is "good", at one point he made a remark about "follow your nose", to the proto-Hobbit companion (sorry, it's been too long and I've lost several of the names), but that was so like a line Gandalf said in the Jackson films, it seemed as conclusive as possible. There's a lot of disagreement on what the Amazon show can use and can't use, and while Gandalf is mentioned in the appendices which are supposedly available for the show, it could be direct references to Gandalf could only be made in certain cases. Or it could be that the Stranger is another one of the five Wizards that come to Middle Earth, and if that's the case, it's most likely to be one of the two blue Wizards who aren't given names in the appendices. Maybe one of the blue Wizards said this phrase about following your nose to Gandalf, and Gandalf ended up using it as well.
There is some inconsistencies in the books on how the Dwarves got their rings, because Durin CLAIMS he didn't get them from Sauron but were given to him by Celabrimbor, but it's not clear if those were given to him by Sauron, and then to Cel and then to the Dwarves? It will be interesting to see how this adaptation attempts to answer that
Where and when was it confirmed the stranger is Gandalf? One of the blue wizards would make more sense they could do so much more with them since we dont know their fate. Also that fortress looks more like Utumno(morgoths first stronghold) than Angband which was underground and had 3 volcanic peaks above
They can't use the name Gandalf due to copyright. And he was not supposed to be created till a couple thousand years later....so they will just make him Gandalf without ever using his name.
@@bwilhelm4214yep they’re totally just condensing the timeline it’s so sad
It is not gandolph
Gandalf
My wager would be something with Fangorn Forrest. It's old even by elf standards and likely has some dark things in it before the Ents call it home.
Could be
Love the breakdown! I watch your breakdowns for Marvel, Star Wars, HotD, this and any others I need to catch. Always great stuff. But one thing I noticed at the end of this one, Angbad is actually Angband*. That's an easy mistake to make. And I actually think it's not Angband, but rather Melkor's (Morgoth) original stronghold of Utumno from the ancient days of Arda, or it could possibly be some beginnings of Mordor. I could be wrong about it not being Angband though. I'm excited to find out. Also I think the Stranger is just one of the blue wizards, not necessarily Gandalf. I don't remember it being for sure confirmed in the show that it was indeed Gandalf, although from appearance it does seem like it could be him, but the way he acted seemed like he was a different blue wizard. But you're right, all the blue wizards actually came later in the timeline, during the Third Age. Thanks again for the awesome breakdown!
I do wonder whether we'll see Celeborn, Galadriel's husband, this season. That creeping black goo is Venom invading Middle Earth of course ... but seriously, I'm guessing it might become the Balrog.
We already saw the Balrog during season 1.
@@emergencyawesome ahh, good point, It's been so long since season 1!
@@emergencyawesome I think she means like when the Balrog falls into the underground lake while battling Gandalf - "a thing of slime, stronger than a strangling snake."
The actor playing celebron is in the scene with elrond and galadriel drawing swords
Celeborn and Cirdan are among the new entries for season 2
The black goo looks like Sauron reforming himself.
Nice theory!
If you look very closely at the tree, it looks like that moving black goo
My theory is the black goo is moving. Because the rot is turning into a creature.
@@emergencyawesomewhat does it feel so lifeless is this Tolkien or somethin else
Nice one. That's awesome.
I love how you can still see halbrand southman face in his elf form
Maybe they were scared of those flying creatures that the nazgul had the anti-eagles basically and they didn't want to attempt to get close until the ring was destroyed. That would make a lot of sense
12:00 fly you fools - gandalf.
Can't wait to see how his Annatar persona plays out
Epic "Avengers Assemble" like on the scene with galadriel and the other elfs, "elfs Assemble"
They are missing a healer. I see 1 Tank and 4 DPS only, this isn't going to end well.
I’ll keep my expectations low for season 2.
Im thinking the black ooze creature could be one of the unnamed horrors Gandalf speaks about in the deep depths of Moria
Using the Papatine strategy of creating a solution to the threat he secretly created too.
13:21 ummmnm when did anyone confirm/identify that the stranger is in fact Gandalf?
They called him Mithrandir, I think. Which is the elven name for Gandalf
It's made pretty clear it is Gandalf in the final episode when he says "if in doubt, always follow your nose" which is a direct quote of his from The Fellowship of the Ring.
Gandalf doesn't (and won't) exist in the Second Age for the Rings of Power - The Stranger is one of the Blue Wizards as the story continues with the Easterlings and Southrons. We will probably also discover the Second of the Blue Wizards as well.
Or they just rewrite the canon cuz of name recognition fml
If it's not Gandalf then the writers are actively being dishonest. He says the exact same thing Gandalf says to Pippin (when in doubt, always follow your nose). They've proven they don't care about manipulating the timeline.
@@MissMillsonxxYou talked about "writers" but you also made clear that you only saw the movies and didn't read any of the books. ... that quote could Gandalf had from one of the two blue wizards. As a reminder of the wisedom of his friend.
@@MaxJ. I read the hobbit, fellowship, and two towers. Be for real though, 99% of people recognize that as a Gandalf quote and the dude is surrounded by hobbit forefathers and wears grey. Also does the thing with the moth.
You're being pedantic.
@@MissMillsonxx Yes you are absolutely right on that. From commercial perspective and for the fans of the movies, it would be great. And a lot of things makes it seems like it is Gandalf. Although he would be called Mithrandir. You also said "hobbit forefathers" which are called Harfoots. So these writers could've done the same thing with this "stranger", yes they made up Halbrand, but now they show us Annatar. Sow they really want to please the fans of the lore as well. Yes they are messing with the timelines but Mithrandir wasn't there when Annatar was handing out the rings. Besides his ring of fire Ayra was firstly worn by Kirin (in the series it will be Calebrimbor I guess), so we shall see how this character plays out. But be honest it would be nice if they show us in these series one (or two) of the blue wizards
Also, even though the creators might have said off screen that the "wizard" is Gandalf, it was basically confirmed in the final episode when he says "if in doubt, always follow your nose" which is a direct quote of Gandalf's from The Fellowship of the Ring.
I'm so happy to see Emergency Awesome in my youtube feed again. Never unsubscribed or anything, just haven't seen any new videos.
Im still hoping that the balrog is more of a kajju sort of presence that lurks on the edge of the story. like maybe its one of those things durin 111 impacts on his son before he passes.
That Sea Monster looks more Kaiju than a Balrog would.
Great breakdown Charlie
The Eagles would have had to fight their way to Mount Doom fighting fell beasts, Nazgûl ETC ETC and alerted Sauron. Who is not a dumb critter and he may have been alerted to the rings potential destruction and his flawed thinking that one one is immune to the rings influence. Esp. if they headed straight to Mt Doom.
Looks good same as the first season i just hope the story , and pacing are better.
One wig to rule them all.
Emergency Awesome I am looking forward to season 2! I do we see Galadriel’s Husband, Celeborn, (with the 2nd age it leaves a lot of open interpretation, and I also feel that the wizard will be. Blue wizards such as Alatar & Palladio. As we know little of them in the 3rd age! As always, thanks Charlie. You are appreciated!
Can't wait to see mordo
I was waiting for your video after the teaser came. I thought season 1 was average. Let's see how this one does. Visually its top notch
ive noticed in the trailer theres no hint of the balrog they teased last season, the balrog might be why the dwarfs accept a ring of power
I wonder if the scene with the Sea Monster is from Numenor being destroyed, potentially by that Monster and sent by the Gods and that is the Queen in the water? Or is it the Watcher by Moria? So excited to find out!
Could the trees be the start of Fangorn Forest turning dark.....
Can’t wait ! Thought it was awesome, season 1
THANKS for this, Charlie!!!!
No problem!
I’m so glad you got this covered, I heard yesterday a new trailer was on its way, and it didn’t disappoint! Thank you Charlie!!
My pleasure!
The whole show is disappointing. This is nothing but fan fiction masquerading as Tokien's work.
@@DragonHeart613 at lest we get something, I heard the next project is a standalone Golem project directed by Andy.
I enjoyed the first season and all of the movies
I would bet the destroyed bridge in Khazad Dum is the Balorg of Moria attack.
Thank you
You're welcome!
That weird black goo is the thing infecting the tree I think.
Sorry my friend but you are wrong about the Narya ring. The first barer of that ring is Cirdan (the only elf with a beard) and not Calebrimbor.
But as we see Calebrimbors green sleeve, it is most likely that Cirdan isn't in these series.
One wig to rule them all 😅
We’ve had some and are getting some pretty good tv this year.
When is a wig a wig ? When the Elves don't recognise Sauron
A wig formed in the deepest depths to fool them all
Black goo i think would be the watcher in the lake type creature .
I literally can’t wait until this comes out! I love how slow pace it was and took its time with everything. But hope they ramp up things up this season
I think Ar-Pharazôn is going to kill that eagle as a rejection of the Valar. I'm not sure he is riding it. Maybe a messenger from the Valar that he kills
It was Sauron all along 🎵
We so need more of the Balrog too!
Wow the effects look wonderful
4:25 that just triggered my Trypophobia 🥲
I like how Durlin the 4th is the only Dwarf besides Gimli that actually tries to help.
Sadly, they won’t listen and the Balrog will be after em.
I wanna see an epic battle between Adar and Sauron, give me all the CGI!!!
Angband*
Though I doubt it's Angband since you don't see the three volcanic towers of Thangorodrim.
I thought that Adar character was a dark elf, something mentioned in passing in the LOTR books.
There were Dark Elves in the first age, that fought for themselves and killed other elves called the Umanyar. They were deemed evil by the Noldor because they didn't stay faithful to the Valar and they were indeed evil. They are elves that didnt return to Aman, they just stayed in Middle Earth and they weren't loyal to other elves. The Elves taken my Morgoth for corrupting into orcs were some of the fist Elves ever created. Separate lines of Elves. Adar was one of the very fist Elves born in middle earth taken by Morgoth.
the black goo: obviously the terminator.
I'm a little conflicted and confused, because towards the end of his life, Tolkien was moving away from the Idea that orcs were once elves, so I don't know how to feel.
The first season was rough. It can only get better, right?
I actually think Durin's warning of doom is a misdirect. Probably talking about Durin's Bain and not Sauron
Considering rewatching season one before August, but upset Prime added ads.
Season two is here already 😮
at least this time its airing after House of the dragon
hi Emergency Awesome
Create longer videos please love your recaps but they are too short ❤❤❤❤
I will try! I make a lot of these on my own, I don't have a giant team helping me. But I'm trying to get a little more help. So I can make longer stuff without it taking forever!
Thanks Charlie.
I wonder if we’ll see the Nazgul this season
It's a little too early for that.
@@emergencyawesome It's a LOT too early for that.
@@MatthewFura he can look at the young versions of them
THE SHOW THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE WAS WITH
TALION
SHADOW OF WAR OR MORDOR ❤
Looks pretty epic!
Return of the Long Night cinematography.
Thanks always appreciated Charlie!
Been waiting for this breakdown
No problem! I stopped in the middle of making this to finish my House of The Dragon Season 2 Trailer video first!
This is awesome. The quality of the wigs in this show is why im watching.
We need a Dune Prophecy trailer asap!
I think the black goo stuff is shelob the great spider being formed
I still need to watch s1
Have fun!
There are some beautiful scenes.
@@andreluismarin8095yes there are, unfortunately the writing, acting, and overall tone was straight trash.
No u don’t
Save yourself the pain. Skip it.
There is another elf-orc to adars left as well
Thank you Charlie ❤
You're welcome!
I enjoyed Season one so much. Gonna have to re-watch it before S2
Thank you for posting this Charlie, I've been lookong forward to season 2. I really wanna see if they continue to make their own stry or start to follow the book closer. What do you think? Thanks again Charlie!!
You're welcome!
Yes can’t wait for this season 1 was a slow start but got really good looking forward to the next season
They'll release another trailer this summer while House of the Dragon Season 2 Episodes are running.
I hope Amazon Prime continue this series all the way to the LoR movies. I dont read books much but its so nice to see it live actions!
The fact they’re condensing the timeline so much turns me off 😫 you had the perfect template with the Silmarillion..
Damn.. if tjis is only season 2
I cant wait for whats ahead
I have a suspicion that the black goo will be the creation of the watcher under the water.
hello again favorite channel that I engage with every few months when an IP I'm interested in releases content
Build me a wig worthy of Mordor!
“Somehow Sauron returned”
I actually loved season 1... some great homages to fans of the movies, but some new threads as well! I thought the Sauron twist in the finale was dope. Looking forward to your breakdowns Charles.
Can't wait to see Sauron again
Still can't get over that reveal from season one
Is the black goop back story showing the original cause of the tree in Lindon turning black?
No the Black Goo is more likely one of the Nameless or even a Balrog in it's shadow form in Moria
Man i am so excited for this season cant wait
Who cares about House of the Dragon?
Keep the focus on the topic and this is going to be Epic. Sauron in all his forms and might, everything else comes second to this. First season had great acting and cant wait see Khazad-Dûm become the Black Pit.
‘It was a Balrog of Morgoth, ‘of all elf-banes the most deadly, save the One who sits in the Dark Tower.’
Legolas
"But they were all of them deceived, for a Bottle Blonde Halbrand was made."
To be honest, i watched season 1 bc the graphics are amazing but the acting was “off key” for me. The last episode felt better so hopefully S2 picks up the pace. It felt like they’re great actors but didnt feel comfortable on set lol the chemistry wasnt there as much either… i dunno. The last episode i remember i felt like ok now we’re talking. 🤞
i dont care what people say, i loved season 1 and i am super exited about season 2! people hang themself so much that the show should do precisely like the book says with the timeline etc. Even Lotr trilogy went outside the book and didnt fully follow the timeline and no one complained then!
I can't for August for rings of power
