*This video contains potential spoilers for Season Two of the Rings of Power.
I also apologize for the audio of this video - my microphone was malfunctioning. I’ve tried to clean it up as best as I could. :)
Amendment 1: All Numenorean swords look like Halbrand's sword (because he got it in Numenor) so it's more likely this is just Isildur's sword, not Halbrand's.

what Nerdrotic and his anti-woke brigade wasn't "in good faith" for ya ? lol. I jest. Glad to see some pleasant and wholesome Lotr content that doesn't remind me of the flames of a Balrog online

@@provisionalhypothesis idc about the woke stuff.... the writing in season one is terrible. and that has nothing to do with woke political stuff.

I think the creepy slithering roots we saw in the trailer might come from the “I received an unexpected visitor” scene with Celebrimbor and Galadriel. Celebrimbor seems to be wearing exactly the same outfit, and we see the roots slithering past someone in a blue-grey robe that would match with what Galadriel is wearing in the BTS clip. Not sure what’s going on there, though.

Great video! So many keen observations I hadn’t spotted before - like Eärien’s more refined outfit & the shot with Will Keen (great actor, so glad he’s in the cast). Eagerly awaiting the show.

Great analysis! Your attention to detail is awesome. I'm excited to see how the story develops and grows into it's own now that it's really on it's way.

"[Celebrimbor] looks like he's having the worst day of his life, because he probably is!"
That and the comment about Gil-galad being extra made me chuckle.
Great analysis! I am so excited for season 2!

Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts. The most intriguing point to me is the possibility of "2 wizard" still hoping for Pallando and Alatar's appearance. In any case I am liking what I see.

Love your channel! Thank you for this detailed analysis. I'm pretty sure that the voice we hear saying "he's been amongst us all along" belongs to Morfydd Clark.

Sauron was presented with many opportunities to repent and return to the path of good, but he consciously refused. The bonds that Morgoth laid upon him were too difficult to break, as Tolkien himself once said in his letters. However, I have always personally believed that if Sauron had been properly guided, or at least found someone who might dissuade him from following in Morgoth's footsteps, he would have changed for the better. Sauron always desired to shape the world in a way that was perfect and flawless according to his own vision. He desired perfection and creation rather than pure chaos and destruction. In Sauron's eyes, Eru (and consequently the Valar) had abandoned Arda forever, so he took the opportunity to take control himself. These are not my own words, by the way; Tolkien went into detail about the characteristics of Sauron as a Maia of Aulë in his letters to his fans.

In the "contemplative" scene with Galadriel in Lindon, you mentioned she is not wearing her ring. In the earlier scene, the ring was on her left hand. In the Lindon scene, you can only see her right hand, so not sure how you decided she wasn't wearing a ring.

The only way i could watch this show was to divorce it 100% from anything related to Tolkien's world and characters. Honestly, they'd have been better off just creating a fantasy show that was completely unrelated, new universe and characters. It's basically what they are doing anyway, as on my opinion none of these characters act or speak like the ones they are named after.

It’s not for everyone, for sure. I enjoy it a lot in the same way I enjoy Tolkien-derived fan fiction. It’s fun to see a new interpretation or version of things, keeping in mind none of it is authoritative.

I wasn't really fond of the 1st season. I much prefer peter Jackson's lotr/ hobbit movies, however I will only watch season 2 as a Tolkien fan without the implication of it not being an faithful adaptation

    • @teawithtolkien
      @teawithtolkien  25 днів тому +1

It’s very solidly in the realm of officially licensed/adapted fan fiction which I say with all the love in the world. I do think season two might be closer to the way most people envision the second age, but we’ll see.
