    Thanks man. Silicone grease helps if you're having trouble making the connection.

    So you can do this without draining any coolant what so ever? I thought it would all just pour out from the hose considering my coolant is pretty fill atm

    I have one on order (Reid brand, I believe). Great video. Funny thing is,I have red coolant that's leaking from my bleeder screw, was this OEM coolant, if you know? I don't know if I should top off with BMW blue (I have some in my garage). Also, is that strut brace stock with the xi? I have a 325i w/ sport package, but no brace. Thanks!

      Strut brace is aftermarket, i would bet the red isn't oem, and it would be a mixed bag to top off with bmw blue. If it where me i would flush the entire system and put fresh bmw coolent in.

    I have the same exact car!! My upper radiator hose keeps blowing up like a balloon! I just ordered a new thermostat and water pump, I got a new upper and lower radiator hose but they only came with the hose, not the plastic couplings at the ends so I'm hoping I can reuse the ones currently on it

    Thanks for the video. I have a 2006 325i, the coolant reservoir is in a different location but the hose is in the same place. I'd imagine that you don't have to drain it entirely since It's only the upper hose that is the culprit. Wonder if it's recommended.

    • @adamanderson8631
      @adamanderson8631  5 років тому

      I doubt you will need to drain the system. You may loose a little coolant just make sure you top it off when you are done.

    My leak is between the end of the top coolant hose where it meets the thermostat do you know by chance what may have caused this maybe it's a line wrong so basically when the coolant dries you see a streak around the edges the airbox

    Is there o rings on the new one you just put on? Or did you use the old ones

    • @adamanderson8631
      @adamanderson8631  4 роки тому +1

      There are new ones, in would never reuse the old ones as it will always leak.

    My last mechanic used a non-bmw coolant when i had him replaced the hose that run under the headers. I just realized it when I saw the crack on the upper hose where the bleeder is at and it is leaking green coolant instead of blue! I came across your vid to get some guidance to do a DIY in that crack. I’ll do this project this weekend,thanks for making this vid.
    Question is, now I know i have a green coolant instead of blue, is it really bad to keep using that or should I flush and use the correct bmw coolant? I had this non bmw coolant for over a year now. You said multiple times not to use other coolant. Please tell me why. I appreciate your guidance. Thanks in advance

      European blue my friend, it's not critical if you don't use BMW coolant but it has to be at least European blue type coolant. Don't cheap out on the mechanical stuff. Cosmetic is fine but not anything mechanical related

    I’m losing coolant pretty fast and car smokes from under hood but not exhaust after running for about 10 minutes and I’m fairly positive it’s leaking from my top hose because T Stat and radiator look fine, is that possible?

    • @adamanderson8631
      @adamanderson8631  5 років тому

      Yes it is very possible, the oring could have failed

    • @realone2917
      @realone2917 5 років тому

      Adam Anderson is there any physical way I can see if the O ring failed? Because this has been happening for about 3 days and I’ve decided I’m not driving this car anymore until I stop the leak because I don’t want to risk engine overheating damage

    Hi. Im trying to fit the top hose pipe back on but it isn't going on, any suggestions?

    • @adamanderson8631
      @adamanderson8631  6 років тому +1

      It is a harder one to get on, rub some coolant on the o rings and it should make them glide smoother and make it easier to push on.

    What radiator hose is that?

    • @adamanderson8631
      @adamanderson8631  5 років тому

      It's a gates branded upper radiator hose, picked up from the local parts place.

    Brass bleeders are shit, plastic ones cool and expand at same rate as the pipe. It's all been worked out by BMW.
