This video really helped me replace my expansion tank on my 330ci. Thank you
Hands down the best instructional video
Awesome Video. Thanks for the tips.💖
very good explanation loud, clear and detailed👍👍
Nice guide. Thanks.
Thank you very much much
Nice looking buggy.
Thank you, kindly.
Thank you Sir,
Thanks! not exactly the same but helped me with my 318i which had a cracked one. No leaks no problems.
BTW: if anyone has trouble with leaks at the base after fitting, just make sure the connectors are VERY clean of any old dirty material, and you do have to use quite a bit of force to fully seal and lock in those plugs, I was pushing down with about half my weight repeatedly until it fully sealed. These things are old, be patient.
I wish my expansion tank would release this easily 😂😭😭
This is a stick shift not Automatic.
My 2006 X3 manual trans expansion tank would NOT come out easy. Forgot to remove the big clip on the bottom. I have no idea what i broke getting it out but it came out
Do I need to put new o-rings in? Are the o rings built in the hoses?
They are built into the hoses
Cant get mine to snap down into place at the bottom of radiator, any tips?
Make sure the connection is clean. The silicone grease goes a long way.
How did you get the bottom piece at 5:50 to come out with the expansion tank? Mine stayed on and now the new tank doesn't sit properly, leaks from that small connector that doesn't have a metal clip
Mine always come out that way. I've seen some e46 with a slightly different cooling system design but I'm only familiar with the design on my car. You'll have to take a close look and find a way to get that sealed. Sorry I can't help from here.
Could you possibly have a link to find that part, ive been looking and havnt found it yet.
Where the hose goes the plastic broke and is stuck inside, so now i need a new hose and mount
I'm having the exact same issue, did you ever figure it out?
I installed a new tank but it’s leaking from the bottom where it mounts and I fitted everything the way it was supposed to what could this be?
Those hoses are finicky. They have to be pushed in 100% completely or they will leak. Happened to me once too with a different hose but that's the first thing I'd check.
i got water on expansion tank i think it is oil from gearbox, what you think, i have a 2002 330i automatic
Is it oil or water? The color and texture should point you in the right direction.
is this the same for the 325xi ? does the AWD change anything?
I can't be sure off hand but I don't see why it would be different.
Qué tal buenas tardes soy de la ciudad de México oye qué pasa si se le quita el termostato que va en el depósito del anticongelante
I'm not sure, I never tried that.
I installed the new tank a month ago and it’s losing coolant and overheating but there is not leak dripping or anything what could this mean?
Bleed it bro!
bleed it.
I can’t find that bottom piece of the expansion tank anywhere what’s the actual name for it?
It appears to be part of the "expansion tank retainer". Part Number 17111436250 (for manual transmission vehicles)
@@EndlessMoneyPits thanks brother I literally just found it. For some reason I thought it was sold separately on fcp euro and it comes on a side mount bracket. Appreciate the swiftness in response.
Why does every video skip the othe sensor
Which sensor?
i sold the car, no longer a member of endless money pits
Sad! What did you replace it with?

Bikes are awesome! Have fun and stay healthy.
damn this is the wrong way to DIY.. even the way the hoses are connected.. very wrong!! you push the clips first and then connect the hose, you'll hear a click which means that the connection is secure.. obviously no idea what he's doing with a BMW..
lmao chill
