Fun fact - then screams are real cause the harness she was wearing to swing her left and right broke one of her ribs… Spielberg kept it as it was more realistic 🤷🏻♂️
Great video, guys! I completely agree that animals in scary movies can be absolutely terrifying. I especially loved the inclusion of "Crawl" and "The Witch". Those alligator and goat scenes were intense! As an animal lover, it's amazing to see how filmmakers can make these creatures seem so threatening and deadly.
How do they weave out the bear from the prophecy? That thing was the most legit scary thing I had seen onscreen in decades and it came out in the late 70s
Other brutal animal attacks in movies: Kong vs helicopters Kong Skull Island Dinosaur attacks The Lost World: Jurassic Park and every single Jurassic park and world movies Hippo attack Jumangi Welcome to the Jungle
Nice list. However I really missed quite a few entries: For lion attacks: the Beast (whole movie), the Ghost and the Darkness (Hospital attack) For bear attacks: the Edge, the Revenant (both probably not horror movies but far better than Cocaine bear) For wolves: The Grey For crocodiles: Rogue (terrifying), Black Water (believable), Primeval (decent) … however I totally agree with Crawl For apes: Link the butler (gave me chills as a youngster) For dogs: White dog (the ending is horrifying and deeply sad, just perfect … still gives me a shiver)
Chrisee’s death was a brilliant opening scene, but Quint’s death was considerably more gut wrenching. Robert Shaw’s acting really sold that scene. It was the height of gruesome and terrifying.
Wow, I was really expecting to see 'The Grey" in here, since you know, every person who survived the crash all end up being killed by "Hollywood" Wolves. I say Hollywood wolves since they have no idea how wolves behave realistically so they just make them true monsters, some deaths being quite extreme.
Well, nearly all entries on this list exaggerate (sometimes absurdly) how animals really behave. However, I agree that wolves are more deserving of our understanding and compassion.
Here are a few horrifying animals like Grabiods, Shriekers, & Assblasters from Tremors, Giant Crocodiles from Lake Placid, megalodon from Meg, & Gustave from Primeval (& in real life)
This video felt like a classic watchmojo video from describing the scene to showing the scene it felt awesome to relive that experience thanks watchmojo
C'mon, no Ghost and The Darkness????? From Mahina's slow death to that blood fueled Hospital rampage scene. Little to no CGI too, just animal actors and animatronics with the music to ramp up the terror. Underrated all together.
I got to say, all the zombified animals in Zoombies and Zoombies 2. Not often you see a movie where zoo/animal-sanctuary full of animals turn on the handlers that took care of them. Not only that but what transformed the animals into Zoombies didn't affect humans. Turns out in zoombies 2 it was said the reason the was the concoction that turned the animals was made not to not infect humans by a poacher with a chemistry degree so those she work with don't be affected if they accidentally inject themselves with the stuff. But if I have to pick one animal from the two movies, kifu the River Silverback Gorilla. He was scary as a zoombie, and the fact he was as gentle as a gorilla can get before being turned makes it even scarier. What worse is when you think he was killed off, after all the survivors got out of there, Kifu opened his eyes once more. And word of advice for anyone that tries to make a How to Beat video out of Zoombies and Zoombies 2, naturall predators (besides humans) and food chain/web obviously stop applying to Zoombies when animals with no natural predators besides humans like Elephants are attacked and turned into zoombies. So although relying on using animals with no natural predators besides humans may be a good idea at the start, be prepared for the worse just in case.
@@agmarkwell I can tell you Zoombies don't have their facts straight. Their so call Crocodile they purposely infected to test their cure on, was an aligator. Coloring was blue gray instead of greenish-brown, the snout was wide not narrows, and the legs were position so it could push its belly off the ground instead of position to the side forcing it to drag its belly around the ground. Ahd that was all shown of the reptile before it was infected.
But the so call croc would be my second after Kifu as the cure failed and they ended up having an infected croc/gator jumping out of the bathroom plumbing attacking them. If it had come back to life like Kifu did then it be a tie.
For the death in Army of the Dead the guy that became the Zombie Tiger's lunch was basically "Spoiler Alert" for a lack of a better term the primary human antagonist who was not only a egotistical jackass, but would on numerous occasions backstab the others just so he could survive and not feel any guilt over it, so it was satisfying to see him become cat food for the Zombie Tiger.
Ok. This is one of the best lists for a long time. I remember when I first saw Razorback. I had nightmares for days. Crawl was so hard to watch. Stuck in the dark, small place with gators all around. Terrifying. With Cujo, I felt so bad for the dog. The poor thing was in agony because of the rabies. He couldn't help what was happening. I'm sorry the people got mauled but that poor dog. I'm one of those people who never went back in the water again after Jaws. Between that and having my little toe bitten off by a snapping turtle, I stick to pools.
Honorable mentions: 2013 Boar. 1988 Slugs. 1990 Shakma. 1970 Day of the Animals. 2006 The Breed. 2002 Snake Island. 1982 White Dog. 1990 Arachnophobia.
Jaws attacks are most memorable without seeing the shark itself. The multiple attacks by the bear in Grizzly, 1976, are chilling and graphic. Makes people have second thoughts about going camping. Granted a Jaws rip-off, remains a scary premise.
A few others 1. giant spiders (Eight Legged Freaks) 2. Snakes (Snakes on a plane and train) 3. Cat (Church The pet cemetery) 4. Deers (The Ring 2) 5. Sheep (Blacksheep)
What makes that scene in Willard even worse is that is R. Lee Ermey. So not only is that seems gruesome but the fact that they're attacking a true legend makes it all the worse to watch
These brutal animal attacks were insane! I feel bad for these people! I've seen "Anaconda" when I was little. I know how you can survive a shark or bear attack. If a shark🦈 is coming, don't swim away. Stay still and you'll be fine. If a shark attacks, strike him or her in the eye or gills. If there's a bear🐻, don't run, you'll be prey. Curl into a ball and play dead. If a bear moves you, don't panic. When he or she stops, keep playing dead. Bears watch their prey.
What an idiot. Why would he go back for him when he already got away? That could never be me in that kind of situation. If I see something attacking/mauling you and not me, I'm running away and not even thinking about going back; heck I would put you in front of me if it goes after me.
The unfortunate thing about "jaws" it was essentially too good horror for its time that straight after people began slaughtering great white sharks fearful they could actively go after humans almost wiping out the great white until someone reassured people that sharks don’t actively go after humans

None of them.
Insect attack in 2005's King Kong
All of “the bay” (2009)
Willard full of rats and Jon Voight being swallowed whole in Anaconda.
There was just no way that number one wasn’t going to be Jaws. That scene is iconic.
It’s just so scary
It should of been Quints death

That scene scared ME and I don't swim...smile
@TheNicoscerri Who knew? Thanks.
The bear attack in Annihilation didn’t make the cut? I’m surprised. That gave all my friends’ nightmares😂
and the mutated bear in prophecy that definitely gave me nightmares.
Its a monster, it doesnt count
They already had two bear attacks anyway.

Agreed, that scene gave me goosebumps, but I think they were giant earthworms 🤔
Jaws should have had 2 scenes. That scene when Quint meets his fate is truly iconic 🦈
"Cujo" immediately sprang to mind, both the novel and the movie terrified me for weeks on end. And I thought that I loved all dogs! 😱🐶
He was such a psychotic dog!!

This deserves a part 2 there’s so much more !

Awesome list ❤
At first I wasn’t so sure about Army of the Dead but then, I’m like this is a great zombie movie. That Zombie Tiger is awesome to me
How could you not include being fed to boars in Hannibal!
Jaws was the main reason why a lot of people stayed out of the water!
Chrisee’s death was a brilliant opening scene, but Quint’s death was considerably more gut wrenching. Robert Shaw’s acting really sold that scene. It was the height of gruesome and terrifying.
You are so right, plus it looked so realistic you'd thought he was really being eaten by the shark.
Very true.
