🦇Count Orlok from "Nosferatu (1922)", I love vampire movies and I would rather date with a vampire🦇🦇
What about geepers creepers? How can you forget about that?
Jeepers creepers was the most terrifying movie ever and it was not even on
The anihalation bear gave me nightmares
I was actually worried that alien would not be on here, but that “the plants” joke was smart
I posted above that T1000 from 2nd Terminator movie should have at least gotten honorary mention. It was LETHAL and the fact that it seemed impossible to kill as shooting it only slowed it down some and it just kept coming back together was terrifying and Robert Patrick really did a good acting job with it.
I was ready to comment on the video and be like "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" Glad I finished before doing that. lol
Alien isn't scary...but it is F'ing bada$$
I yelled, "REALLY!?"🤣
"A contortionist named Doug Jones"... EXCUSE ME, that's legendary, award-winning creature actor Doug Jones! The man is a cinematic treasure!
They also disrespected Javier Botet.
Doug Jones the man the myth the legend!
They only want to mass produce some listicles, neither the ones writing them nor the ones recording them give a shit what they're about. If you want respect for the covered material WatchMojo is the wrong channel, you'll have more luck with genre dedicated creators.
Bill Skarsgard did a terrific job as PennyWise.
Tim Curry was better. They were doing way too much with the new one. Lost interest in the new It in about 5 minutes.
Tim curry was better and og it is better
@@leeandramurphy5903no

I thought he did a good job with what he was given, but there was way too much CGI in his apprecenses. Penny wise is more of a character in the book and mini series rather than a creature , how he is shown in the new one.
It is always weird for me to hear people refer to Pinhead as a villain. In the first 2 movies (the only ones worth watching tbh), he and the Cenobites are just there to collect those that summoned them. The villains in those movies and the only ones that actually kill are the humans. The only reason he goes after Kirstie is because she literally opened the box
Well. He and the Cenobites operate on a morality system very different from us humans.
THISSSSS!!! All of this.
Agreed @Bigparr. The Cenobites (I also agree the first two films are all I love of the series, although I did enjoy the reboot) are facilitators, nothing more or less. It's only in the third movie that they started making him into what Fred Krueger sadly became with the teasing of the priest and spitting bullets out (my god, that was cringeworthy). To say the original Cenobites are villains is to not understand that they come to deliver the desire that summoned them, and they have been freed from mortal standards of good and evil.
I agree. The first 2 are the only ones worth watching.
Thank you! Her uncle and mother in the 1st are the villains, the cenobites are just involved
When I watched The Conjuring 2, The Crooked Man scared the HECK out of me
bad CGI lol, grow up
Lip stick man is just Darth Maul when he visits a nudist colony.
IKR
That’s what I said lol
Bit harsh on nudist colonies. More like Darth Maul just found a random deserted beach, got naked, and somewhere along the road shit got really dark.
Hahahahah
Watch ur self now
The Mutant Bear is a cross between a stunning mythological being and straight up nightmare fuel.
for sure. that film was something else. granted, the first time i watched it, i was high as shit, but when i rewatched it sober, my body felt weird. it was almost like just seeing the shimmer rewound my DNA and changed me. hearing the bear snarl and growl as the girl's screams are fused with it literally made my heart fall to my stomach.
if you screen record the clip of the bear and bump up the brightness, it's ten times scarier, because you can see the full outline of her skull, some of her fingers mixed with the whiskers, a piece of her ear fused with its ear, along with other stuff. if you also find some original concept art and recordings of what the bear originally was supposed to look like, i think it would have changed the state regulated movie rating. those art styles alone would have made that movie classified as rated R or even unrated.
that scene of the bear was supposed to be longer, and it was supposed to be a recurring threat for the girls in the shimmer. natalie portman was supposed to do a full face-off much like with the scene in the abandoned house. obviously, she still survived, but it was supposed to be one of the main villains, along with the shimmer humans that replace her body much like with oscar isaac's character. imagine seeing that bear for the duration of the time they were in the shimmer. i don't think i'd be able to watch it with the lights off.
@@melt_brainit was crying "help" 😖
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. The Thing from _The Thing_ takes the forms of the Pale Man, Rexy, and Pennywise over a single night. That’s one nightmare I won’t recover from if I have it.
Imagining a t rex taken over by the thing is terrifying
Absolutely
The pale man and pennywise are debatable. Might can't still the body of a supernatural creature.
pennywise could take the form of anything also though.... so you know
@@beliffywu5804at least he has standards. Considering that pennywise is really a monstrous spider, I don't think the thing would have an issue dealing with him.
The Creeper not being on here is an absolute crime
The directors crimes.. is why many people don't like mentioning the film. It puts money in his pocket
I agree!!
Truth! Yet Cloverfield made it? WTH?
@@robogreek3157The art is different from the artist.
They all float 🎈
We all float down here.
You'll float too.
The thing is number one. Or the bear from annihilation. Anything that takes over and combines with you is terrifying. Are you still in there? You cannot escape something that becomes you.
Xenomorphs are more iconic, but The Thing also has the severe paranoia angle. Are you the only one left, and would you even know if you were?
for a second i thought that middle creep in the thumbnail was Darth Maul
Same
Me too.
He was definitely the original design
XD😂
Nah, just his crackhead cousin!
Pennywise is definitely scary...
Nah he is all cgi
He, no, IT looks scarier in the old TV drama version.
So much better than Tim Curry version, I laughed many times watching the old tv version.
He's one of the reasons why I hate clowns my sister made me watch that movie when I was a little kid
The scary monster is a Tax collector
The Tripods from War of the Worlds. The scene where one rises out of the Hudson River is scarier than a lot of proper horror movies!
Tim Curry in Legend was the stuff of nightmares. Also Salem’s Lot vampire.
And Tim curry in the first it
Wrong @@Andrew-cq7uz
I put him on my list here showed in the coments..his portrayal of IT..wich in he made people affraid of clowns in the first place and Stephen King found this thing out. Clownofobia was a thing because of the original IT ..and Tim Curry was so great in it
Glad Jean Jacket made it on the list. The reveal that it’s an alien instead of being piloted by aliens wasn’t just a plot twist, it changed the genre.
Really? I assumed it was just a poor rip-off of the Stephen King story Mile 81, released a mere eleven years earlier.
The plants- I was like this can’t be serious. Lol. I really did laugh out loud.
It didnt change anything
I never understood what WTF does the purpose of the name in a cloud looking alien jean jacket? Completely irrelevant
@@wadewilson8011 It was the name of the character of Keke Palmer's first horse in the movie. You can draw whatever conclusions about that you want but it was, at least, relevant.
The crooked man is terrifying considering both his movement and the fact that he looks like the batman who laughs
i think velociraptors are scarier than t. rexes but thats just me
Clever girl
Definitely should have been the raptors
If it makes you feel any better, apparently they were only about as smart as chickens so they weren't as terrifying in reality
Heh. Velociraptor was about the size of a turkey, and covered in feathers. JP got them completely wrong.
Are you all kidding me? Please explain to me how Rexy got on this list, while the Indoraptor or the Indominus Rex or for god's sake the Mosasaurus is missing??
jeeper creepers?
Just look up victor salva and you'll see why.
🎶Jeepers Creepers, where’d you get them peepers?🎶
@@Kyleplierjeepers creepers where'd u get them eyes where'd u get uhm
@@LSRx51 The real creeper
@@LSRx51doesn’t mean the monster wasnt scary. Separate art from the artist
Where's Freddy Krueger?
He's not scary. A guy with knives on his hands?
"Oooooo look at me shaking in my space boots"
@@Arthur19-v3y The concept of a dream stalker though is very scary, as it is loosely based off of an old mass killing from dreams.
I was thinking the same thing therefore I posted my personal list in this coments..
@@Arthur19-v3y yeah, but Pennywise is on this list and werewolf too.
@@Arthur19-v3y yeah Shelob is super terrifying to be #2
The Grudge is the one that got me as a kid.
How do you put a spider above The Thing ?
For real. Frankly, that spider isn’t as scary as anything else on this list.
Presumably one for the kiddies...😈
Literally why I never subscribed to this backwards ass channel. They have Pumpkinhead at number 30 for Christ sakes.🙄🤦🏾♂️👎🏽
They call her 'little more than a spider' but she's not actually a giant spider at all, that's just the form she takes. In no way is she scarier than The Thing though. Also not sure why they say 'we never see The Thing on screen', it's not like is has a main body, everything we see on screen is The Thing. And it 'transforming into a spider' is not a spider either, that's a memory of a creature from some other world it also visited. I'm always disappointed watching these videos.
I first saw American Werewolf In London when I was about 8 years old, back in the 80s! It is still in my top 5 movies of all time!!
It had a great soundtrack as well
Pumpkinhead scared me for years at a very young age.
Same here! its the first horror movie my sister and I remember watching. We are in our mid 30s now haha.
That and the unnameable
@@kingjohn455 wtf are you commenting about?
To me, it just looked like an old man. I really weird, looking at old man, who broke out of an asylum
@@mikediddy9665 you slow? Lol
The Creature that comes out of the ancient Aztec box in the movie " No one Gets out Alive" is horrifying and should have been on this list!
Most definitely, such an underrated film. One of my favourites
Freddy Krueger, Art The Clown, Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees???
Monster like creatures. Not slashers
Its Uk what do u expect
@@SeanCombsAKADiddyCanada you Schlick
Yeah dude the names you mentioned are not Monsters
Freddy for sure
Scariest thing ever: uncertainty.
& with the jump scares. You think okay maybe I’m safe & then all of a sudden bam
i Just realized, Javier Boetet would be perfect to play as The Batman Who Laughs...
What else has he done?
Pazuzu and the Thing creeped me out so much that I didn’t sleep until it was light outside.
Anything with giant spiders I'm OUT! I mean like Scooby OUT!!!
When I was a kid, I was frozen in fear when The Demonters came up
Pennywise should have been #1 not for the fact its a killer clown who eats children and keeps keeps thier souls alive inside him! It can literally transform into anything it wants! It can be every single monster on this list if it pleases! Also I'm shocked the annabelle demon wasn't on here! 😅
The Exorcist actually made people faint and throw up.
IT deserved an Oscar nomination for Hair and Makeup to make Pennywise
Not really, basic af and a lot of cgi
I knew The Ritual monster was going to be on here. That thing just sticks in your brain forever.
The Jack-In-The-Box from Krampus SCARED me so bad as a kid, that I couldn’t even sleep. I’ve had multiple nightmares involving him. Everytime he was mentioned in these types of videos, I would literally have a panic attack. 😶
The Kraken from Pirates of the Caribbean was scary, too. And Davy Jones? A masterpiece of design nd acting.
The Trauma Demon from Smile and Ozhin from Countdown are scarier than most of the monsters on this list
you can't be serious, right? you picked some of the most ass films ever. those movies were terrible. one was a terrible attempt at making a snapchat filter real, and the other was something that had been circulating the internet for over ten years. those movies aren't scary. they're a disservice to the horror genre as a whole.
the only time i was even remotely scared by the "smile entity" was in the short film that came out before smile, and even then, it was awful.
the amalgamation of human and walrus was creepier than that. by a LONG SHOT
I didn't say the movies were good. I said the monster designs were scarier than most of what was picked. Also a man walrus that screams a lot is not scary. The lack of a good story/character development in Tusk was the scariest part of it
This is a joke, right? This has to be a joke lol
How are the Dementors scarier than Pazuzu?! 🤷🏻♀️
When I was a kid, dementors scarried me more, than Pazuzu (my mother loved to watch horror movies, so I was also involved as a kid). I forgot about Pazuzu pretty quickly, but I was horrified with dementors for a long period of time
I’m gonna be honest, I’m surprised the creeper from Jeepers Creepers didn’t appear on this list tbh
The list is not rubber, it's impossible to include everyone here 🤷 besides, it's author's point if view, others can have different opinion
The Thing itself isn't an animal mimicking people. It is a collection of cells that one by one infect, mimic, and then replace the cells of a complex organism.
The Creeper, Bughuul, Art the Clown, the 1978 pod people... they all deserve to be on this list as well.
The way The thing transforms give me lot of Musseum of chills
Finally, The Thing is in the list
Killer Clowns From Outerspace. God damn that screwed me up as a kid.
Ditto.😊 That movie made my younger brother and I fear and hate clowns ever since.😱
That movie was quite funny. What are you gonna do knock my block off...lol
Valak as the NUN in conjuring 2 is way more scarier then crooked man
firstly, it isn't "more scarier", it's just "scarier".
secondly, i was able to find a copy of the original "crooked man" fairytale, and let me tell you something: children's illustrators back then need some serious counseling, because that was nightmare fuel. he looked like he was torn limb from limb and put back together with duct tape and twine. it was awful looking at. my joints hurt just from seeing the image. i'll admit, the conjuring films did make him a little funny with that top hat and spectacles combo, but it was still a little creepy nonetheless. reminded me of a more dapper slenderman.
What about the Tooth Fairy from Darkness Falls? That movie ruined late night car rides. "Don't go into the dark! Stay in the light!"
Still one of the scariest movie monsters is the tar man from Return Of The Living Dead, he is horrifying and the creeper from Jeepers Creepers is spooky too
I was in the 7th grade when my best friend decided to rent this movie. Oh holy bejesus, Tar man was the most terrifying creature I had EVER seen and I was scarred for years after that. I think it helped foster my complete love of the horror genre. But I truly had nightmares for several years after seeing it.
@@hollyloomer7667 He's so memorable and those eyes... Yikes
Freddy Krueger not being on this list is criminal...
No Freddy Krueger??! He killed you when you fell asleep and started dreaming, something you can't avoid doing. Plus he was based off a real life event that Wes Craven read about concerning a young man who said he would die if he fell asleep, then when he did fall asleep, his family heard him screaming and found him dead.
He's not a monster he's a serial killer slasher films and movie monsters are creature features that are not human.
@MsHood1986 I have to disagree. Freddy was a human serial killer before the Elm Street parents hunted him down, but then he became a dream demon which should qualify him for the list of scary monsters.
The Predator is objectively way scarier than most of these and it could kill any on the list very easily.
Even Clover and Pinhead?🤨
@@SpiralTeeth easily
The Thing makes short work of their entire race.
Valak dies only from blood od christ and holy water. She can yeet him as she did with priest in The Nun II.
Please explain the game plan the predator is gonna use to beat the It Follows demon.
I always thought it was cool that Darth Maul had a cameo in Insidious
9:51 aka slendermans brother
I also mean, The brundfly, American werewolf, Death angels
It was because of the Babadook I always kept my mouth tightly shut at night
I'm so glad that the ritual was in this video at such a high placement.
"30 Scariest Monsters of All Time"
My Brain: Muscleman: MY MOM! HAHAHAHAHH
More than a century later and Count Orlok has never been topped when it comes to vampire depictions. The silent film, the black and white imagery and the eerie performance by Max Schreck created a masterpiece.
i FINALLY got the chance to watch the full movie, as well as the documentary on the film, and my god, seeing the way Orlock looks gives me chills. he walks around like a little bug, scurrying around with those lifeless eyes that pierce your soul. he was marvelous, and if anyone tries to top him, it would be a huge disservice to schreck. that man is a legend, and we never hear him speak a word.
Give me a break. It is an all-time classic yes. But we've gone way beyond that in the last hundred years. This list was a good list but a crappy order.
@watchmojo I can't believe you left the graboids from Tremors off of this list!
Never seen the movie but I’m sticking with the Wendigos from My Little Pony
The crooked man use to scare the hell put me when i was younger
I would add Michael Rooker in _Slither_ , and a fun early 80s movie called _The Boogens_ is a blast.
I'd add the creature at the end of Smile, it was pretty damn creepy and some of the creatures in The Void. But I agree with The Xenomorph from Alien being #1.
I agree 😊💯
All black eyes and all white eyes are always the scariest
I never understood why ppl thought Layne Staley in Darth Maul make up was scary (AKA Lipstick-Face Demon).
Harry freaking Potter monsters are on the list of scariest monsters of all time??? Seriously?!
Those monsters are so scary to me
Sigourney Weaver was an absolute badass in Alien and Aliens.
PinHead is terrifying
Going to be honest, I almost mistaked the Lipstick-Face Demon for Darth Maul
The trauma demon from Smile terrified me. I really regret watching the movie alone for the first time. I got nightmares.
Yeah. That one should have been here.
You're kidding right?
@@wadewilson8011 No. And the sequel is coming this year.
Thanks for including the awesome Pumpkinhead.
It doesn't deserve number 30. It deserves way better than that..
220: If all together, it’s a nightmare I won’t get away from
I thought Clever Girl was much more scary than Text, but I'm just glad JP is on the list!
Also, nice twist ending 🤣😂🤣😂
Pennywise is pure evil one.
People are also forgetting is it can transform into literally anything it wants! It could be any monster on this list! Pennywise should be #1
No monster instilled in me more intense drain trauma than the Blob.
That's a really terrible monster.
It creeps, and leaps, and glides, and slides across the floor, right through the door, and all along the wall. A splotch, a blotch, be careful of the Blob!
Me too lol. I still think about that movie when I'm at an open drain lol
If I were you, I would just watch the 1958 version of the Blob. The 1988 version was really hard to watch, because nobody likes seeing anyone or anything showing its food while eating it.
Scary monsters, but none of them scared me. I guess I was fully immune to them.
I don’t know much about HellRaiser but my Uncle Sebastian told me it scared him a long time ago
how anyone can find the monster form 'Insidious' scary is beyond me. I find the movie the epidemy of cliche.
The Crooked Man was terrifying in the RPG Horror game, but the movie made it worse
The scariest monster of all time in my opinion is the savage Cujo that dog be tearing all others to shreds and given rabies as well
The fact that a plant made the list but Jeepers Creepers didn’t astounds me.
The Creeper from Jeepers Creepers not being on the list is criminal.
The spider from Lord of the Rings looks a lot like Aragog from Harry Potter, but I agree the Dementors are way scarier than Aragog.
hahahahahaha i knew you'd troll us with "the happening" lmao XD
No monsters from the VHS series
Guys,...I'm glad you added more, but all you did was added 10 more, then copied and pasted from the Top 20. No offenses, but that's kind of lazy.
Oh really? The Blair Witch? We never see her!!!! Where is the Creeper ?
Leprechaun always gave me the creeps
I’m surprised jeepers creepers wasn’t on this list. He lived in my nightmares
Gabriel from Malignant? Really? He’s gotta be one of the dumbest horror villain. No way he belongs on this list
Pinhead isn't scary, is just gothic dark 😅
Haha that was a good one with the happening
You’re really telling me the Smile demon didn’t make it? Not even an honorable mention??
It would help if you make chapters of all your different movies sections, instead of one big block. That way I don't have to fast forward/reward to find the name of a movie I would like to see.
I didn’t see It Follows in theaters but I did watch it on Netflix. Made me get the shivers down my spine.
The whole thing is creative and unsettling.
My man Dr.Satan never gets any love, i know hes just a SMALL litto piece in house of 1000 corpse but..... I wish he was fleshed out more.
How was Audrey 2 not on this list?
Good mention, at least an HONORABLE MENTION cause as a kid that ginormous plant scared me! And his booming deep voice!
No Jeepers Creeper? Yeah they tripping lol
