I can't help but wonder...................................if I had the money, could they put one of those pop ups on my mini-van or would the weight be too much for the walls of the van to support? I guess I'll never know,, I can't imagine how I co8uld come up with the money for one of those,, much less have it installed. But WOW!!! What a great idea! My mind is working overtime just thinking of how I would be able to travel places. Maybe even put in enough solar power to power my oxygen. Until then, I will continue living ou8t my dreams binge watching all your videos. As a great-granny, my heart will forever be young and on an adventure, even if it is through other people's journeys. Thank you for sharing your adventures, your family, and the knowledge you attain as you go. I am so amazed at the many talents each of your children have. and use!!! You all are so very blessed!
If you are looking for a great heater for these wonderful units check out the Propex propane forced air heater. Same size as a diesel furnace without the castle of hauling diesel. They are sold out of Nanimo BC i believe. I put one in our Alucab Khaya and my wife is very happy camping in the cold again. Love your videos .
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You never fail to impress and inspire us, thank you for taking us along for the ride. What a TEAM .... The.... Epic...Adventure...Masterpiece....
Thanks for introducing me to Red River Rigs. I live in Amarillo and was not familiar with them. Only found your channel a couple of weeks ago when your South Padre trip showed up on my feed. Sorry we had cold weather when y’all were here. God bless you in your travels.
Beautiful conversion of the jeeps. I can well understand your motives. Since we ourselves have been traveling for 25 years with a similar roof conversion, I can tell you that it opens up a whole new range of possibilities and raises life in the vehicle to a very pleasant level. We love your inspiring travel reports. Stay healthy and share many more of your impressions with us.
I’m so jelly. We’ve been trying to get on their book for probably a year now. No response on phone. Email or social media. I’ve all but given up. Very very neat product!
Hi Y'all. This is a great idea to gain a LOT OF SPACE enclosed in warmth. Setup and get going in the mornings would also be less time. Certainly there's a few compromises. But at ALL still a GREAT idea. There are some really nice bike trailers that weigh almost nothing ideally for off-road conditions. I'm very excited to see the next few episodes how "OUR" home evolves....🤠
Fun times ahead ! I’ve had a Jeep and a 4Runner and they’re capable ,great, long lasting vehicles. But not much room . You all amazed me with your ability to live in them ! So I watch your videos and adventures . I’ve seen a new cab/ tent replacement before but not the extension -- looks substantial ! Can’t wait to see the girls enjoying their new found room
I was not familiar with the JXL mod, I am really impressed. Red River Rig's, get ready, it is about to get even busier! Thank you again for the great content. Proud to be a Patreon! Safe travels.
What an incredible set up! Thanks for sharing this with us. Now I have another option to look at once I hit the road after retirement in less than three years. Love your channel! Safe travels.
Awesome changes and upgrades so far! Surprisingly, the Europeans know a LOT about Jeeps, as we left most of the ones used in WW2 over there at the end of the war. People over there love them! Great that one of my fellow Texans has taken the JXL concept and branded it with his unique style.
Hmmm, what are they UP TOOOO!?! .. those things look pretty sweet! But ya know, I'm a simple man and I think the little Cubbies (storage) on the rear bumpers are quite cool. Ya, I'm easily amused. Can't wait to see a full (set up) walk around.
Ersa Minor has had those same exact tops just not extended , for years now . Many UA-camrs have them , i have seen one in person about 2 years ago. On a orange youtubers rubicon . Like i said same exact top just not extending the jeep body.. looks nice only thing is they should have used like factory seam sealer instead of silicon which drys up where seam sealer stays pliable ..
It's always interesting to see how other people tackle problems and the solutions they come up with. The joy of overloading is the diversity of options that people come up with.
I just became a Patreon Member $20 a month to support this wonderful family and all they do. I would encourage everyone out there that has enjoyed their hard work and awesome content to do the same. It's the least we can do for having been the benefactors of all this wonderful content.
so far i have seen all your videos..., .... it is twofold; the opportunity you all have to discover America in detail to be able to share it with us as viewers, but also to be that close as a amazing family together... wish you all the best and luck and etc., hope to see many more videos...
I see you went to the Big Texan Steak House. That place is a trip. Great steaks, good food, fun atmosphere. I got to go when I was an OTR trucker. Very nice rebuild of the Jeeps.
Growing up in Amarillo and now living a few hours south, it's really great to have such company practically local... At least local for Texas, lol. I'm excited to see how the rigs are in the wild.
Awesome! I’ll take the old stuff! 😜 I have the same white rubicon! I saw a similar conversation recently! Really nice! I’ll be interested in how this works out!
Wow that just blows me away I don’t even know what kind of a comment I should leave 😂 it looks fantastic I can’t wait to see the finished product totally 🍺🍺 ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥 Camping Russ out
What made you decide to stay with the Wrangler as opposed to building out a Gladiator which has higher load limits factory, and do one of the off road type camper/ topper type deals that you can pop up and have interior space.
Man I'm envious! I'm on too tiny a budget for such things and those awesome trips. BUT I still keep trying got my YT Channel, my budget Overland Tracker Rig, and friends. I will see y'all down the road! Your family keeps me motivated to not give up on my dreams!!!! Wow great spaces!😳😉😊
What a great improvement ! Thou i secretly hoped you'd go for the 6X6 Camper build. I seen 4 of those on my trip thru Alaska, they were mostly from UAE or Germany but thy looked like an amazing and capable overlander rig. CHEERS Steve h.
Greetings, I’m the proud owner of a 2016 JKRU Hardrock. After having looked into the Ursa Minor and it’s costs 10k (13k with desired options) then being ruined by watching your presentation of the Safari JXL, and realizing how much more expensive it actually is around 20k I was shocked. I’m still at a place where I’d prefer to go with a trailer option like the Black Bean or something comparable. I’m a single fella at the moment and like my comfort and the options cooking on a dedicated area provides. So still deciding for the future. Thanks. All the best. -William #Jeremiah29:11
Thanks so much for sharing this. This is what we are thinking about doing too. This has helped me understand the process so much more! Enjoy the new build❣️🤗🙏🏼🤟🏼
@@SimplyLesa Hmm ya I see the benefits of it for sure. I think instead of dumping money into that it would be more cost efficient to just find a 4dr 08/09 Jeep JK and gut the inside and sleep in it if you wanted more room for that.
Just love the jxl systems I'm just not there yet. Just getting into the overlanding stuff with a veterans group. My question is what did yall do with the jk stuff and the RTT's
@EFRT , How much weight did you save adding the extension and everything. I think I missed the part discussing the weight difference you saved making the switch to the JXL build?
We have the "original" Gazell kit on our JKU. The extra space is really awesome! Only the bed surface is a little short for people over ~6‘. To have more space we‘ve installed an extension of the sleeping area. Your roofs are looking different from the original ones? Especially we like the extra cargo space in the front! What is that rail that is attached to the outside?
Nice. Looking forward to the next video where you install power systems! Does that system stretch the frame as well? Curious to know if you can still put a hitch on the back.
Oh man those JXL rigs are nice!! I am with Carolyn it was little hard to see Vande get taken apart.... In the long run it will be nice upgrade. Especially for Caroline's editing, you will have your own nock to work in now. Very cool how hands on y'all were! BTW Pete what happened to the scruff? Always enjoy the videos including this one!!! Hope y'all get to try out the rigs in Palo Dura Canyon! Will be very interested to hear an honest review of the handling with the weight moved back 15". Have to put the Adventure Guys motos on the front, like the 70s RVers did lol, or on a trailer. Safe travels!!!!
I have been watching your channel for about a year now and I think it is awesome how you and your family have traveled and valued family time so much. If I have missed it in a past episode, how did you decide on the Jeep platform to travel in over another vehicle? I hope to see you down the road.
Could you share how much this extension cost? I know every build is probably slightly different depending on how much you need to remove and re-install.
nice, love it . looks like a better choice to you guys than the truck camper option i suggested y'all might like . you can probably stand in that thing when open !!!! hell could even probably do a shower build in there ! ps: that departure angle gonna be diffrent lol
I'm interested in what your net weight change is (+ or -) given that you've ditch roof racks, whole roof top tents, ladders etc.... Is the new set up less top heavy? Or should I say noticeably more stable since it has to be lighter? Are you going to keep the interior space usable or are you tempted to fill it up with more gear and weight?
Hopefully this exposure helps JXL improve the product. The concept is great. When I looked at this at Overland Expo the quality wasn’t there. If they improve the molds, fabric, hinges and warranty I’d consider them again.
Very cool build! Curious, why did they only use DAP caulking instead of Proflex caulking which is used in RV's? My understanding is Profelx is better for change in temperatures and for flexible? Just curious as that is a major connection and possible area of water infiltration.
I love that you stuck with the Jeeps and didn’t go a different route. It’s a cool product and pretty simple in the end.

I’d really like to see something like this come to the gladiator. Maybe a go-fast camper style bed system with a pass through to the cab.
AluCab makes a camper that's like these
@@Ikamono101 no they don’t, they make a bed topper with an integrated RTT. This incorporates the vehicles cabin.

Super awesome upgrade!
This is awesome . Kind of reminds me of The Road Chose Me jeep that he took to Africa. so cool .
Ursa Miner configuration with an extension. Looks great
I know the company in n Europe, its Gazelle. I also think of doing a Stretch, since I have my JL. Greetings from the Alps.

Looking forward to you putting them on the road. God bless.

Wow! Such a great product for your lifestyle! Really looking forward to seeing the completed project…and how it works for you in the field!

I haven't watched the whole video yet. But is this finally going to allow a snorkel on Worsley?
Yes, we can’t wait 👍🏻

Do they make these extensions and pop-up roofs for a two-door JL? That might be something I'm interested in.
I wondered the same thing

I think we shedded about 400lbs
Wow thats a really cool product. Looks very impressive. I thought only Ursa Minor did that type of roof. Never mind the extension
