Emocionante. Imposible no llorar
Still listening in 2023 - Stealing Home moved me so much when I was a teen. I didn’t know it then but I was depressed - in retrospect I felt lost like Katie
This is one of those rare movies lifted from mediocrity by two Fosters. I sometimes forget just how beautiful Jodie Foster was in her early years, clearly established here in this climactic scene. David Foster's love song at this critical moment in the movie and the nostalgic flashbacks is ingenius.
This is an awesome movie, and what a beautiful song. David Foster is an amazing musician, and Marilyn Martin is just an added bonus. I never get sick of this movie or song. Please everybody enjoy it.
I keep coming back to this video from time to time. I think of "Seasmoke" and the Jersey Shore (SMILE). Wish I could go back to that place in my mind too! The great Foster has done it again! 10+ stars!
Wow. Harmon and Foster look young, but I guess it has been 20 years! I remember going to see this movie with a girl on a date. She loved it; i was bored to tears. I do love this song though, and Jodie Foster is hot! I fell in love with her with this movie.
I remember this song when i was a kid. I really loved this kind of music, so relaxing and it feels so good. So rich of emotions that even me think of those feelings as part of me.I love to sing too, and this type of music and lots of ballads from David Foster, Dianne Warren, Celine Dion are my favorites.
I don’t know we’re my love is???I cry every time I hear it,Knowdaubt the movie ‘stealing Homes’was something different at that time when I was 27...& now it’s something different
I didn't know they even made a music video of this beautiful song - now I finally get to see what Marilyn Martin looks like ... and it was worth the 25 year wait !!!
time flies so fast when you're having fun...its been a long time since i heard this song but i guess i never get over it. i used to wear this record out but i never got tired of listening to it,
'And When She Danced' (1988) - David Foster & Marilyn Martin Can you go back in time to a place in your mind To the one who know a part of you That you just couldn't find If you ask me to choose between a memory or two When it's said and done I'll take the one who's love I had to lose Cause when she danced I lost my inner sense I loved her danced I always will She left with me But still with me A burnin' memory She took with her a part of me If I could get back where I've been Feel the passion I left then I'd be there right now and get somehow It never comes again She had nothin' to gain Nowhere to go To the way out of pain The time with With a song and dance she lost romance The world had gone insane Caused when she danced Caused when we danced I lost my inner sense I loved her dance I love I always will I always will She left with me He left with me A burnin' memory, remember somehow She took with her a part of me Can you go back in time to a place in your mind To the one who knew a part of you That you just couldn't find Lookin' back I'm not sure If I couldn't heard someone When she danced with me Our hearts were free as far as I could see I'd be there right now and yet somehow It never comes again When she danced with me Our hearts were free Were free As far as I could see

I've been waiting years to see the video for this. I loved it. The song is so shatteringly beautiful, and Marilyn Martin looked stunning. This song reminds me of a lot of things...Some of them pleasant, many of them painful, but all of which have helped form me, for better or for worse. Thanks for putting this up!
this was a bit controversial movie, but i love this movie so much! i've been looking for a dvd for this for so long now. one of my all-time favs! this song is also one of my most fav of all time. i just cry everytime i hear it.
GaryBoy 54, The scene is when Jodie Foster is walking towards the dinner table. You don't actually see them sitting down at the table. I think this is what you referring to?
GaryBoy54, I GOT THE TWO PICTURES OF SEASMOKE and they are AWESOME! The house hasn't changed a bit in all these years; except the grassy areas could use a bit of tidying-up. You should post them on youtube for all the fans to see! A MILLION THANKS!!!!
hey it,s agent Gibbs from NCIS!! who knew? this song is another foster classic.marilyn did,nt get the fame she deserved.a beautiful voice and a hottie too! she sang backup for joe walsh, kenny loggins and stevie nicks.
Thank you for adding this. All of the original music in this film is great. (I know david foster now'a'days sounds "Over produced", but production aside the songs still stand strong on their own.) The film is great for those who have not seen it. Proud to say I caught it in the theaters.
*mentalPatience* - we may be the same person (as the same exact thought- AND age!) I saw the movie 'stealing home' in the theater back then and is has still never left me.
It's a shame, there was a David Foster tribute that aired in Canada tonight. David was interviewed and discussed all of his accomplishments starting from SkyLark, St. Elmo's Fire, Chicago, Barbara Streisand, Whitney Huston, Celine Dion, Michael Bubble, and Josh Groban. BUT somewhere in the timeline they skipped over this fantastic duet from 1988 with Marilyn Martin. David why???????????
Never been to the Jersey Shore, but sure wish I could see SEASMOKE today :-) BTW...don'tcha just LOVE the name Seasmoke? Perfect description of water/mist/fog?
the actual term Sea Smoke occurs when the air is really cold and the water is just above freezing. Often seen in winter on the coast of Maine or Canadian Maritimes or even upper Great Lakes. Yes I do love the name.
I know David Foster was dating Linda Thompson-Jenner, at the time this song was written for the movie soundtrack; David even credits her as a co-writer! However, is it just me, or does it also strike one as "odd, or awkward," that David & Marilyn never hold hand, or loop arms as they stroll through the field, or walk on the beach? Can't help think this video with a romantic song playing looks odd with some sense of physical contact?
UGH! I had to edit my first comments because of length, and in doing so, I messed up the spelling and tense: What I meant by my comments is that David & Marilyn never make physical contact with one another. This struck me as "unusual" for a romantic song/video. Especially, as they stroll on the beach. Can't help but wonder if Linda had a part in that?

David Foster needed to promote himself as a singer more than others! Geez, he was actually VERY good! Too bad he got caught up with Miss Elvis, Jenner, et al!
*kwest34tn*- I am so volcano Jealous of you. I saw 'Stealing Home' in the theater as well - and ached to be with a certain girl, and still choose this song as 'our' Wedding song. Sadly the girl thing didn't work out (pla$tic surgery here i come). Now 36 and have been aching such for ... far too long. Take care of eachother and live the life that the others LONG for.

'And When She Danced' (1988) - David Foster & Marilyn Martin
Can you go back in time to a place in your mind
To the one who know a part of you
That you just couldn't find
If you ask me to choose between a memory or two
When it's said and done
I'll take the one who's love I had to lose
Cause when she danced
I lost my inner sense
I loved her danced I always will
She left with me
But still with me
A burnin' memory
She took with her a part of me
If I could get back where I've been
Feel the passion I left then
I'd be there right now and get somehow
It never comes again
She had nothin' to gain
Nowhere to go
To the way out of pain
The time with
With a song and dance she lost romance
The world had gone insane
Caused when she danced
Caused when we danced
I lost my inner sense
I loved her dance
I love
I always will
I always will
She left with me
He left with me
A burnin' memory, remember somehow
She took with her a part of me
Can you go back in time to a place in your mind
To the one who knew a part of you
That you just couldn't find
Lookin' back I'm not sure
If I couldn't heard someone
When she danced with me
Our hearts were free as far as I could see
I'd be there right now and yet somehow
It never comes again
When she danced with me
Our hearts were free
Were free
As far as I could see
Omg did not know this song had an MTV. Nice Jethro Gibbs baby
