I've been testing out Walmart spark for the past week and have already noticed "tip-baiting" on the app. I had a customer put $15 on Sunday and by the next day, the tip was removed after I had already delivered her groceries. The app says that customers have 24 hours to change their tip amount, so I've had a few customers remove the tip or lower it but then they don't leave any additional feedback. I hope in the near future Walmart removes the ability for customers to remove their tip, especially if they aren't even providing a valid reason why. 🙄
I've been driving for Spark for a few months now. I never had any trouble with tip baiting until the last 3 weeks. I call support, option 2, to confirm each and every time so it's documented. Supposedly they are working on solutions but who knows. I also keep a list of people who pull tips, and reference it every day before making a choice.

I like using spark when it works correctly! The majority of the time I have app issues, or I am waiting 45 minutes at the pickup location. They are getting better but most Walmarts are horrible and don’t seem to know what they are doing.
I had a 19 order batch yesterday, and a 15 today. Both paid pretty well and the app had the drop order arranged great...lots of orders were in close proximity to each other and the store, which made delivery a breeze. Holiday season is definitely lucrative for sparkers.
Just a few things I do personally that have seemed to help make a small difference. Text the customer when you're on the way to their address. Note: Talking the regular orders, not the big 12-15 stop deals. This gives them time to put dogs away or make sure to not be on the john when you arrive, etc. Be aware that you're probably on camera. The Ring doorbell, etc. They can see if you're handling their groceries roughly, or talking bad about them or their house, etc. Keep all that to yourself back in the car! On really hot days? Keep a few cold bags in your car, and let them see you bringing them to the door to unload their cold items. Most will notice. Lastly? Make friends with the Walmart associates. A lot of our frustrations as Spark drivers? They have ZERO control over. Just talk to them and it will do a lot for you and for them. Thanks!
I did spark for two days and made almost $400 I had a $20 tip and after I dropped off the order it was gone, I called support and they made sure I got my tip :)
What did you say to the customer service? Cause a lot of us have had this happen but can't get the tip back. I had a no contact delivery same thing happened but I thought that you still couldn't get the tip if the customer chooses 🤔

Awesome I'm probably gonna give them a call tomorrow cause I had a $10 tip but it got lowered to 4.40. I ended up being 20min late cause the app stopped working after I left the store & when I would resume my trip it would take me back to the beginning from when I started shopping
Spark has been a game changer for me. Been doing it for 3 weeks and it's so much easier to hit my daily goal using Spark and multiapping with IE, DD, UE, and Roadie between Walmart orders. I've learned that most orders drop at 20 minutes after the hour except for first come first serve orders that drop whenever.
Walmart spark is my primary now. Overall it's the best for my market, not perfect but the best consistent pay and less stress of gig work in my market.
I have done a couple batch orders in recent week, they drop a couple or three and payout drop and waiting there payed me more than that dropped orders, and the funny part is in each batch order there is one address which is not reachable and once done i get too come back to the same store get paid and l i am payed more than actual, i only grab them at afternoons when i have already made like 100-120$ so i do a batch order and get that 70-80$ in 2 hours and come back but 5pm and just do shop and delivery again love those days
I have great customer service, however you have people that will add a tip to make their order more appealing for you to choose because they know they live in an unsavory/unsafe part of town. But because they have 24/48 hours depending on the type of trip, to adjust their tip they will remove it. This never happens in any of the other area I deliver to. I have called customer service about this issue and they do nothing about it, only say for you to call and identify which customers are doing that. In short check your tips and make sure you did receive them!
Was tip baited yesterday. $15 tip dropped to $5. I love the advance auto part orders. Usually a couple miles and I’ve gotten from $10-20. Usually takes 10 minutes. The bonuses and incentives have been great. Interested to see what kind of incentives they have around holiday shopping.
Yo wtf i submitted my application about a month ago and ive tried calling dd and sending them emails and it stil in the first process hasnt even moved 🤷🏻♂️ seems their support is not quite there
Last week I lost about $45 of tips it was all tip baited and also I felt customers are doing this purposely and this occurs on very large orders like mulitple trips of water and other heavy items. These were baited and my ratings dropped. I put them all at their door and I don't see why the reason to tip $20 and come out zero.
What do you do if you cannot lift heavy like if you get cases of water, I would have to break them apart or a 50 pound dog food bag. I could not carry especially upsteps.
As long as it's timed correctly and I get a an offer for ten deliveries for forty five bucks, and when I end I can get right into the next order, taking the merchandise orders for the larger guaranteed money has worked well for me.
Yes I use to get $20 dollars a delivery when I first started and that was before the tip and I would take every delivery but now I'm lucky if I get a $14 dollar delivery this is crazy and then if you don't take these Deliveries they send U,Don't keep this as ur only hustle change it up and keep grinding ✌

Tip baiting has been so prevalent on Spark in San Diego. I've used Uber Eats and only ever had 2 orders take back the tip...in 6 months. I started Spark last week and already have 35$ missing in last weeks deliveries. Just today I had a $20 order for just baby formula, but it turned into $15 just 20 seconds after hand delivering it to her. 🙃
Hi there, It is just been 4-5days since I started doing spark.. I have been changing zones like 3-4 times a day to the closest walmart stores after dropping one. And I didn’t really know if acceptance rate matters.. Mine is 32% now and I am only seeing orders with 1-15 items which is around 11-17$. I see spark drivers doing like 30-70 items.. I wonder what should I do to get high paying offers.. Any advice appreciated.
I'm new to Spark, although I've been driving for several other platforms for a couple years. I like Spark but in just my 1st 10 trips they have already shorted me over $30 in delivery pay...I take a screenshot of every offer I accept and I have reached out to support, who acknowledged my concern and had me send all my screenshots to request my "missing pay" as they titled it, but it has been a couple of weeks and there has been no further response or pay adjustment. This is very concerning as a new driver. In all other platforms I have not ever had any issues. I'd strongly urge you all to pay close attention to what you're offered and what you're actually paid. Many people don't cross reference and just let the earnings roll in without checking that it's correct. Has anyone else noticed consistent shortage of delivery pay on this platform??
My experience with Spark is that you can call, get a ticket # for the issue, and email, but they don't follow up or take care of the issue, unless it takes care of itself. I am still waiting on pay for an app glitch from over 2 months ago. They can only do the basic things. I like it overall, but when they or the app makes a mistake, they should be on top of it and take care of the drivers.
I had my first delivery last night & it showed $11.02 plus tip but in the trip earnings it shows $9. I also screenshot everything so I’ll see what happens when I call about it.
I have a 24-25 min wait window for park curbside trips. But during the 24-25 min wait i go do ubereats or doordash for a quick 10-12 min run then land on walmart pickup lot. My walmart is close to me like 10 mins drive. So to me its kinda worth it cause im doing a full 25-30$ an hour.
When I see multiple orders come in and I want to select all how do I do that? Once I click accept one the others seem to go away until I've completed that 1 delivery if I happen to be the only driver but otherwise they kick to a different driver.
Is there anything you can do to get more notifications for deliveries. Does it help if ur sitting at walmart? The closer u are the more trips u can receive?
Yeah, tip baiting started in my area. Other drivers are experiencing the same issue. It sucks when you log out of other apps and lose potential money (up to $25) an hour to deliver for Spark and then your a victim to tip bait.
i like using spark but my biggest issue are the batched deliveries. done a batched delivery today and only made 9 dollars on it. and they keep trying to give me batches of like 10 deliveries. bro that’s insane
I love these types of comments that are short on the details, which are basically not helpful in any way. How many days do you work? How many hours per day are you working? How do you accomplish this, with bonuses, stacking bonuses? How many miles per week? With this kind of information your comment might be seen as more than just puffing out your Spark chest.
Spark 7/2022 update. Spark has more customers now it is a great way to make side money. I think the program is at its mature stage because now they have stopped hiring. When it first started spark was only be busy on the weekends. But I've been doing it during the weekdays and it's easy to get offers because it is busy 7 days a week now. I drive a Toyota Prius, that makes a big difference.
I just sign up with sparks, but a lot of my pay r really low with high miles almost $1 per miles. Do I have to be closer to the store to get better pay?
Hello, I just started back up delivering Walmart Spark orders part time and have made for the 10 deliveries I made just over 200 dollars with only 3 of 10 customers tipping. 3 of the 10 order deliveries were multiple drops 1 was a 4, 1 was a 10, and 1 was a 14. I deliver in the Pittsburgh South area. I am looking to make between 1400 and 1600 a month working the gig economy. My metrics are good in the green and orange. Do you have any suggestions for the Pittsburgh area?
We have Hime Depot and Benjamin Moore Paint sores added in my market. I probably wouldn’t take these orders, especially for large items because they wouldn’t fit in my car.

I’ve been driving for Spark about 2 weeks now. The other day, I received a batched order of 16! YES 16 stops and for some odd reason, a lot of the batched orders have absolutely no tip on any of them. Is there a reason for this? I was on time, did everything correctly so what gives with that? Also I completed an incentive for $180 for 20 orders. When should I see that money in my account? Thanks for all the helpful information! You rock!
Spark would be awesome if they had their sheet together, everything about it though is a mess from the app, to how they send out orders, to the store wait times, to them not paying you for doing trips or earning incentives, it’s a complete mess and not worth the stress to me anymore I’d rather run more miles and make less money with apps then try to deal with them it’s pathetic at this point.
I don’t take anything unless the delivery fee is acceptable and I don’t bank on getting the tips. It’s crazy how they drop the delivery fee up and down. I found I made more in Washington State than in California. People are jerks sometimes won’t the tips. I hate the game playing.
I don’t like the fact that the batch only counts as one trip. It’s not fair when you’re making multiple drop offs. It also keeps me from earning the extra money.
Guarenteed earning are not what they seem. Even reading exactly what the incentive says, is not true. I have reached out to 'management' on spark support 2 months ago about the wording with these incentives and they still have not been changed. Also, and I cannot stress this enough, find out what store number you're delivering from. There are 2 walmarts in my delivery area. Even though one is 25 minutes (21 miles) away from the store i deliver from. Certain incentives will say store number, not town.

I definitely get tip baited. Just today, I've had 3 straight orders that were all 27.26. It was 20.26 for delivery and 7 for customer tip...... all 3. Two orders I had to shop for and one was a pick up. The homes were no where near each other and yet it's the same exact amount for all 3. Have a feeling in 24hrs those customer tips (21$ in total) will be gone.
If you get a guaranteed offer leta say 200 guarantee for 10 deliveries. It does not stack with the 12 delivery bonus for 36. So basically if you hit the 10 deliveries you should stop cause the next ones will also go to the 200 guarantee. Shot myself in the foot.
when you wait 30minutes to an hour for orders in the walmart parking lot, you arent getting a tip. EVERY order is late because of the crappy wmt employees ya be lucky to make $10hr doing this

Yup 20 minutes after the hour is something I learned as well, and I can multi app in between that
Sams club drops on the 15 mark and shop and delivery are at the 30 mark

Started spark like 2 month in Palmdale,CA. Have 5 Walmarts and it’s a pretty smallish town. It stays pretty busy out here
I make a easy 1100 + a week with just spark. And I’m home by 7-8 every day

Spark paid super low unless you get tips. But some customers will adjust tips AFTER you delivered and Spark ain’t do Ssssss about it mon.

I avoid multiple stop package delivery, usually no tip, to much time vs pay ratio.

Spark would be awesome if they had their sheet together, everything about it though is a mess from the app, to how they send out orders, to the store wait times, to them not paying you for doing trips or earning incentives, it’s a complete mess and not worth the stress to me anymore I’d rather run more miles and make less money with apps then try to deal with them it’s pathetic at this point.
I don’t take anything unless the delivery fee is acceptable and I don’t bank on getting the tips. It’s crazy how they drop the delivery fee up and down. I found I made more in Washington State than in California. People are jerks sometimes won’t the tips. I hate the game playing.
I have been averaging 4-5 orders a day. How come my metrics never changed? Neither up or down.

I don’t like the fact that the batch only counts as one trip. It’s not fair when you’re making multiple drop offs. It also keeps me from earning the extra money.
Guarenteed earning are not what they seem. Even reading exactly what the incentive says, is not true. I have reached out to 'management' on spark support 2 months ago about the wording with these incentives and they still have not been changed. Also, and I cannot stress this enough, find out what store number you're delivering from. There are 2 walmarts in my delivery area. Even though one is 25 minutes (21 miles) away from the store i deliver from. Certain incentives will say store number, not town.

I definitely get tip baited. Just today, I've had 3 straight orders that were all 27.26. It was 20.26 for delivery and 7 for customer tip...... all 3. Two orders I had to shop for and one was a pick up. The homes were no where near each other and yet it's the same exact amount for all 3. Have a feeling in 24hrs those customer tips (21$ in total) will be gone.
I just wanna know how to get tip baiters to stop. It is getting ridiculous in my zone.
Keep record of themvia app or log book. I blacklist all addresses that tip bait
If you get a guaranteed offer leta say 200 guarantee for 10 deliveries. It does not stack with the 12 delivery bonus for 36. So basically if you hit the 10 deliveries you should stop cause the next ones will also go to the 200 guarantee. Shot myself in the foot.
