I've got a 52 reg v6. The engine is a peach, plenty of power considering she's a bit of a porker. Totally correct about the relaxed, up market drive and ride, I arrived relaxed when driving the Stype. The suspension set up is fantastic as well, comfortable with little body roll. They often suffer rust issues with the sills and subframe (like mine) and go haywire with anything less than a perfect battery. Also I'd argue the seats while comfortable on your back and bum don't support your neck very well and they also are very low with a slightly odd driving position, low pedal box under the dash and low to the ground. They aren't perfect but I can't think of much that matches them when you take the looks and expirience of driving one. The petrols are also actually very reliable engine and gearbox wise although things like window regulators and plugs coil packs are a failure point and expensive to replace. All in all though, if I had to buy another car, it'd be another Stype 😊
Anyone thinking of buying 1 of these, then seriously do buy 1, I had one a couple of yrs ago and made the mistake of selling it for a newer XF model big mistake that was, but now I have sold the XF and brought a 3l V6 S Type and can honestly say again that my smile as come back whenever I go for a drive.
The Jag S type is one of my favorite automobiles, when in England I rented one and it was great, a real pleasure to drive.

Really started to like the s type, I'm thinking of one as a weekend car, prices are starting to rise in the uk
