- Meeting a stranger on a carpark can be a daunting challenge but it can also save you hundreds of pounds these cars are currently near the bottom of the price curve and Statistics say Most people when buying a car go for the safety and security of a car dealer .
Given the fact there’s no comeback buying privately?
Following some steps to avoid being ripped off by checks about the identity of the seller and car paperwork it minimises the risk and save you money!! What’s it like to buy from a private seller through Facebook marketplace?
Plus checks to make after your purchase! and you may secure a bargain? - Авто та транспорт
I hope the previous owners can see this video, to see that you are looking after it. That may help them after being upset seeing you drive it away!
I brought on of these new in 2009, I didn’t appreciate it back then.
I have very strong itch to buy one again to tinker with like this.
For now this video has helped the itch 😆. Loved it.
that blue looks stunning
I bought one almost exactly the same just yesterday (06/06/2024) and I've yet to collect it from the (private) seller. Went for a test drive (took me a few minutes to get used to auto's again) and was delighted. It's the 3.0 Sovereign AWD model (2007) and it cost me £1,900. The insurance will be an extra £260 on top of what I was paying for my (manual) 2005 Volvo S80 D5 SE Lux and it would have been considerably more if I wasn't registered as disabled (Blue Badge etc). The Volvo has now done 144,460 miles and the Jag has done only 68,770 miles. The main reason for the change though was the switch from manual to automatic because of my disability. The Jag is smaller of course, but the grab-handle over the drivers door helped me to get in (and out). However, I'm not looking forward to the huge increase in fuel consumption from a 2.4L Turbo diesel (average 44mpg) to a 3.0L V6 (average - no idea). Can't have it all ways though, I guess..!!
The car does like fuel however when you consider what you paid for the car it helps . Happy motoring
I am surprised to see how good it is underneath. For a 20 year old car. The paint work is spot on. Nice and informative video. Please make a video on miles per gallon on motorway and in the city.
Thanks for your input if enough interest on UA-cam will help by sharing another video with you
Great purchase, love the colour
That one is super condition
Together with the Arnage.. Two of my favorite classy looking cars..
Certainly a great looking car
Absolute steal. Mine was written off whilst parked last year. A beautiful motor, I still miss it. That’s gotta be a keeper.
what a good buy! will be interesting to see how the project progresses
Owning a car is not just about driving 😀
Love these cars
Thanks for sharing. Thinking of getting one similar price, just concerned about the sills, that seems to be the Xtype achilles heel.
Yes it is be careful the sills are repairable of course and can be factored into the cost if they become classic then as time passes the x type will be worth fixing from a financial standpoint
Looks good enjoy.
I had 3litre v6 se lovely car very very quick
Silky smooth as well!! 🙂
Same colour and engine as my first X type
Exactly, the lowest value they will be, and if been looked after, quite reliable and still a good looking car, I'm torn at moment between x type and s type, just a weekend car
Both X and S good value great cars buy carefully and you will not regret it good luck and thanks for watching the video more to come!!
Hi I’ve owned both s and x the only problem with x type is if you do your own mechanics like I do then the transverse engine with the all wheel drive system is a bit of a pain, just like the old mini engine which were originally built as an inline engine!
You NEED a manual S-type 3.0, Trust me on this I've owned one and currently have a 2.5 S-type sport manual. Plans are afoot for a breathed on 3.0 for it 😎
Hi.l have a 2.2d. 06 plate .only done 15000m immaculate condition. Im getting 38.3.around town 47.8 on.the m.way. to me, it's a car with class. He's named mick jagcar.😅

Happy driving! Keep mick jagcar rolling

Do you spend a lot on fuel? Lovely car. Classic.
Hi Not really as I work from home and I’m a believer that because of the bargain prices of these cars it more than makes up for the cost of buying fuel
