I'd say one of the most important things (not kit) when walking alone is fitness, especially in those conditions. Really enjoy watching your videos/adventures, keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching, I shall keep the videos coming. I think my friend had been given some stick on one of his videos at the time so that was why I pushed home the fact that I'd got all the kit :-) he was given stick as we didn't mention we had a first aid kit so was harsh in the comments section... "armchair warrior" I think they are called :-)
An IPod as an essential piece of kit ! Wainwright and Merrill would be aghast... How can you be at one with the fells if you can't hear them... 😉 Great video !
Dean Read I'm subscribed ☺️ working my way trough your older routes - provides some great ideas for my own days out in the glorious Peak District and I'm looking forward to the winter hikes😎
Hi Alex, thanks for watching. This is an old video but it was a great walk. At the time I had Richelle (now Mammut) boots with Grivel G10 crampons I believe. All the best, Dean.
@@DeanRead Hi Dean. Off to Edale soon for a winter hike and camp - fancy some of the moderate scrambles around Kinder if conditions are favourable. Advised not to bother with venturing onto the plateau by grandfather who used to instruct up there as there's "not much to see". Your videos have been helpful and enjoying in general. Am reminded of style of John Rogers the psychogeographer not sure if you're familiar. many thanks, Alex
Kinder, fantastic in the snow, pity it doesn't last all winter, roll on this one lets hope it's a white.
Thanks again for sharing Dean
Cheers Wink
Keeping my fingers crossed for good snow and also that I'm off work when it arrives so I can go out and play :-) thanks for watching Wink
Love that route in winter! That looked like a great day for it too... Roll on winter! :-)
Won't be long now mate, the nights are drawing in quickly and it'll soon be time to scrape ice off the car windscreen in the mornings :-)
We've done the route in summer yet by the looks of things it would be great in winter too! ATB Andy
Thanks for watching Andy
great stuff
Thanks for watching Tom

Sure it takes experience to do that

Your videos are inspiring me to get out in the peak district, what month was this video shot!
looking for a winter adventure
Impressive scramble up Grindsbrook Clough. Look slippery. What boots and crampons were in use? Cheers

There isn't a great deal to see when the weather is bad but it's glorious when the sun is out :-) All the best, Dean.
onwards and upwards in an FTO in the snow? Sideways and backwards more like Dean ;)
I had an R33 Nissan Skyline before I had the FTO, that was sideways, side to side and round and round on anything slightly damp :-) haha
I hope you living in the Peak District you’re wise enough to get Winter Tyres or at least All-Season Tyres .. 😕❄️
+Bruno Barbosa I was younger and stupid when I did this over 8 years ago. I have a sensible hybird Toyota now with all season tyres
