This genre is considered nu metal. Nu metal is known for combining hip hop and rock. The guy that was rapping in this song is Mike Shinoda, he has a hip hop side project called Fort Minor. The lead singer name is Chester Bennington, he has one of the best voices in rock history. He unfortunately took his own life in 2017. If you want to listen to more Linkin Park songs, you should listen to their 2 most popular songs called ‘In The End’ and ‘Numb’
@@PenneySounds Linkin Park definitely isn’t a alternative hip hop band. Probably you meant a alternative rock band. But early Linkin Park is considered nu metal. But Linkin Park changed their style later in their career.
Nu Metal which is a genre that mixes metal and hard rock with other genres like hip hop/rap and also other genres like traditional indigenous music and middle eastern music like with bands like Sepultura,Soulfly and System of a Down, there’s Nu Metal bands that incorporate industrial and EDM too and other genres
They blend a multitude of genres. They aren’t really a “rock” band. They implement elements of hip-hop, metal, electronic, and others. That’s why I like them though, they make their own genres!
Since you are wearing a Ice Cube shirt, you should do reactions to the two songs Ice Cube did with the Nu Metal Band Korn , F Dying off of Ice Cubes album and do the music video Korn is the backing band in the video, and Children of the Korn from Korn’s album
Nothing about this is Punk. They are often sorted into these sub-genres of rock; alternative__nu metal__alternative metal__rap rock__electronic rock. I do hope you try more. Their song 'Given Up' would be a good one to try...if not already done.
Linkin Park started out as Xero, and they were part of an LA hip hop collective called Junkyard Scientific, which also included Styles of Beyond. Their genre was alternative hip hop, mixed with influences from electronica, trip hop, rock, metal, and 80s new wave. Their label, on the other hand, tried to market them as the next Limp Bizkit, and sell them to the nu metal/rapcore audience. But not only was that not their sound, but they literally wrote a diss track about that kind of music, called "Step Up", which calls out the rap rock henre for having no hip hop credibility and just "rapping over rock"
This song is less nu metal and more raprock to me. The vocals are grungy. Chester(the lead singer) doesn't get enough credit fron being good at singing grunge. His origin is practically grunge, his og band is post grunge. Alice in Chains, Nirvana and Soundgarden are his biggest music influences.
R.I.P. Chester one the greats
Linkin Park in their first 2 albums (Hybrid Theory and Meteora) were primarily nu metal and hip hop/rap

The way you we're headbanging was disrespectful lol
This is nowhere near punk rock. You must not have ever heard punk rock😂🤣
Not even close to punk rock 😂
