Especially when you do a warmup and your working set feels heavy as fuark because you just spent 10 minutes talking and forgot what the weight feels like.
Solid advice, Lu, you actually made me realize I grind too hard. I've probably known it for a while but I finally admitted it, so that's something I guess, hahah!
For me I've been working out truly, like bodybuilding style for about 2 years now (I've started working out before but wasn't a professional gym) and I usually workout out for about an hour and a half. For beginners, I recommend going to the gym for about 45-60 minutes and work your way up to a max of 2 hours
Love watching purely for the personalities and laughs But def agreed on going in, getting it done, and not spending crazyyyyy hours at the gym (if most of the time is just talking)
Lu has such a weird build. Sometimes he looks big, sometimes he look like his chest and shoulders are sunken inward. Maybe his head is just big, idk. This video doesn't make him look too big, but previous ones he looked twice this size.
for me personally i enjoy exercising and lifting to the point that I'm tired because i like the feeling of being tired. I also don't get tired until after the 3 hour
hello and how's it going, so i have a question.. im military and we work out like non stop but i feel we go tooo ham on one set of muscle groups becuase we have almost no choice so i was wondering what is the alloted time that should be split between same muscle groups or will it not be good in general to keep going on those aloted becuase of the torn muscle? should we switch 100% to a new muscle group?
Lu , I want you to know that I got the Nacho Libre reference, even if you doubted yourself throwing it out there with no reaction. I want you to know that I got it and I believe in you.
Today is labour day in NZ and I trained for bout 3 and half hours. 1 hour cardio included. Squeezed weight training and cardio just cause gym closes early. So that was a first for me.
@2:25 I HATE when my training partners treat a training session like a social event. The way i like to lift is taking a MAXIMUM 5 minutes between sets. But when im training with my friends they talk for so long by time its my set im cold DRIVES ME NUTS.
Deload at the end of EVERY cycle of a program, or you will get burned out and injured eventually, it caught up to me on Thursday when I slightly strained my right erector
In my opinion the best tip is to commit to the pull. Also wha helped me most was doing fast touch and go reps . I brought my deadlift up from 300beltless-475Belted In 6 months. Doing fast touch and go reps really helped bring up my 1 rep max.
Watch powerliftingtowin's 30 minute video on deadlifts, that's one of the best videos made on the subject. elliot hulse is a good teacher too but he teaches correctional deadlifts which correct imbalances but aren't necessarily optimal for strength. On top of that, watch some videos from jonnie candito and omarisuf on them. make sure you pay attention and take notes, especially while watching powerliftingtowin
I used to spend 2 hours in the gym but then realized it was utter useless and was doing more harm than good. I keep my works short and intense. 45 mins-60 (Max). Get shit done and get out. I got plenty of other places to hang out with friends, family, and people at. Gym ain't really one.
Why would you wanna write this when both Lu and Geo are already taken, and also writing it on the channel of Geo's boyfriend, that's like her husband...? That's f_cked up!
Hey Bart, I understand that strenuous activities past 2hrs usually depletes your glycogen however what If you have both pre-workout and post workout meals? I usually workout on the 3hr mark (3min rests or more usually) does that apply if you already loading up on carbs and protein prior to workouts? honestly i'm the type of person that feels better working out on a full stomach.
Ec11223 The body is very efficient , you have a large store of glycogen in the liver aswell. Though lifting for such a long period like that will deplete you of muscle glycogen, you get that weak feeling as your blood sugar starts to drop. This is a good time to eat as you're sensitive to insulin at that point after putting your body thought hell, but because you eat before you don't need to worry so much.
Bart Kwan Just Curious Bart Im very shaky on going into powerlifting since im already in olympic weightlifting but im just shaky on my numbers at this moment. Im going into highschool this year as a freshman and i have a total of 880Lbs, Sumo Deadlift=360Lbs (belt) Sqaut=315Lbs (no belt) Bench=205Lbs I Weight 138 Pounds but have cut down to 121. Thoughts please :)
I remember when i was lifting everyday for 3 years. nothing happen. i didnt get injured. i became ripped and buffed and my blood pressure went down. it was high
The people who spend too much time are the ones that socialize way too much. When I'm training clients, I'll see guys taking ten minute rest periods to chat. When I do my own workouts, they're always 30-60 minutes but full body and really intense. If I go full out for an hour, I can usually burn 1000-1200 depending on the rotation. I wish more people would use the gym what it was intended for - to train and save the socializing for anywhere else.
There's this guy at my gym, he's built and looks good. But he just walks around with his shoulders tensed then he constantly talks to everyone for about 4 hours
from bodybuilding perspective u better eat within 45 min after workout and dont workout longer than an hour. in reality i find myself regularly training for 3 hours..which irritates me cos i know by the time i get home for food, the first muscles that i worked on at the beginning of the training are already lacking proteins for rebuild.
Hef Tarc bro sorry but meal timing is a myth. you don't have to worry about eating a meal as soon as you get out. Your body will still be repairing the muscles with the protein that you ate the day before. as long as over a long span of time you are eating optimal protein then the timing doesn't matter as long as you don't go like 3 days with very low protein and low cals, then you are sabotaging yourself
stevo4111 thats not true, u go hours without eating after work-out, you are gonna get muscle pain and slow recovery the next few days. atleast thats always my experience. All the bodybuilders are atleast as concerned with the meals they prepare as the training schedules.
Hef Tarc no bro thats a myth, trust me lol. ive been lifting for 16 years and what matters is calories over time. as long as you eat sometime during the day and get calories in over a long time that average to a little over your caloric surplus. If you get pains then thats just because of the workout, biologically its not possible for you to repair the muscle damage that quick.
stevo4111 there's a difference in metabolism. people with fast metabolism need to eat more and spread more meals over the day to gain mass. same with thin hollywood actors who are getting in shape for movie roles in a short period of time, some have to eat every 2 hours. There is a reason why some people are naturally skinny and others are more massively built. For people with slow metabolism it may not be neccesary. i certainly need within the 2 hours after work out, eating before training helps a lot too, or the muscle pain will stay for 2 days. if i do eat in time, i barely feel the muscle ache at all. and this certainly goes for the youngsters in their early 20's. i still remember when i was that young and lingering on weight limits that i was lifting, it was not until i start focussing on eating enough and on time that i start improving the performance significantly. The meal timing research that has been quoted a lot focussed primarily on the timing or the post work out window, while the research itself and the control group its been using may not be valid and representative. There is a difference from person to person when it comes to tissue recovery, metabolism and thus post work out window. besides, according to the total in and out theory, there would be no reason why people wouldnt eat 1 huge meal in the day instead of 3 meals, or better, one huge meal once a week.
People who spend hours and hours at the gym... don't they have a job? How can they afford it?! Even if I don't work much a day, I try to do 1-1,5 hrs of workout. 1 if it's really intense and half an hour more it it's cardio or light workouts. But with showering and al it always takes me at least 1,5-2hrs a day. Weekends I'm not in a hurry but try to max it to the same hrs as well. Just because. I hate gym chats. It's distracting. Especially if it has nothing to do with workout. If someone asks me for help or wants to help me with my posture: fine. Anything else: please stfu and leave me alone!
a lot of people go to gym for attention. like 2 housewifes or college students on the treadmill having entire conversation at a certain point one of them will punch the red button to stop the treadmill cos she wants to catch breath in order to concentrate 100% on her conversation..
do the gir in the middle even train? i always see her talking about how much she trains and bla bla bla and she looks like the girl that only does joga and pilates twice a week
I hate those dudes, who stop you and have a full on conversation with you. if you're one of these guys. please stop..
Especially when you do a warmup and your working set feels heavy as fuark because you just spent 10 minutes talking and forgot what the weight feels like.
***** dominickd16 LOL I know these feels.

+AutismBSFitness hate to say it, but I have a client that is similar, takes forever for her to start deadlifts.

This might not be related to the vid, but what are conventional deadlift tips that help?
Check out Candito's and Omar's channel, they both have videos on this

I used to spend 2 hours in the gym but then realized it was utter useless and was doing more harm than good. I keep my works short and intense. 45 mins-60 (Max). Get shit done and get out. I got plenty of other places to hang out with friends, family, and people at. Gym ain't really one.
WhoaItsJon Exactly, that is all you need. Training too much will only burn your muscles away.

And then I start loosing my gains and start looking like lu lol lost my shit.
What does lactic acid have to do with lifting?

Vincent Pham Sounds like you're doing well, strong for your weight. You'd be strong as hell at a heavier body weight. Keep at it.
Looking for the '20 minute workout' club.
People who workout for more than 2 hours a day age faster than those who workout from 30 to 100 minutes.
Lu is super good looking b'cos his looks are really exotic - the rest of the guys are nice!!!
I'm surprised the program isn't called Mundo
People that go to the gym and sit on equipment with their smartphones!Or walk into me looking at their smartphone!
I remember when i was lifting everyday for 3 years. nothing happen. i didnt get injured. i became ripped and buffed and my blood pressure went down. it was high
Where's Alex? Haven't seen him the last few videos..
I spend 50 hours per week in the gym.
Actually lifting? Maybe 9 hours per week lol

I only came here for the thumbnail, anyone got a link?
Where are those girls on the pictogramme?
Sheiko 29 took me about 3hours per workout
Is 2-3 hours ok?
Yeah 2 is good.
As a personal trainer , I recommend 2 hours max
***** I usually do 3 or 4 hours straight without b.s. socializing. Been lifting for 2 years. Why don't you recommend any workout longer than 2 hours?
kevin p Push day for me is around 2 hours and leg day and pull day are about 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
kobyashi yeah sounds about right for me too.
If you go that long without re-feeding your body depletes and becomes catabolic, and uses muscle for food.. which is the opposite.
This should have been a 5 second video - "NO".

Bart started copying lu
I would start copying lu to he benches 550 for reps. Srs
I read when lifting it's pointless to spend more than 45 minutes in the gym. Is that not true?
a lot of people go to gym for attention. like 2 housewifes or college students on the treadmill having entire conversation at a certain point one of them will punch the red button to stop the treadmill cos she wants to catch breath in order to concentrate 100% on her conversation..
Fuckin eh do I know those people
I hate the people that come to the gym to socialise and spend their time talking to people instead of training...
I do two hours 2-3 times a week
I take my sweet ass time working out and stay focused. I always though the weights aren't going anywhere so why the fuck am I rushing?
