Best answer. Don't do this for other people, do it for yourself and what your passionate about, whether you want to be strong as hell and squat 800 pounds or be insanely shredded and step on a bodybuilding stage.
Powerlifting is like when dudes buy retro jordans. As much as you think its impressing women its really only impressing other men. Honestly only other women that powerlift or rock js appreciate it
everyone (the vast majority) start out bodybuilding. and once they realize they need strength to become bigger. Ppl lean towards powerlifting. Almost like the best of both worlds imo. just saying
So many people dont really know the difference between powerlifters and bodybuilders. They have completely different goals. Powerlifters lift for POWER. Bodybuilders lift to build their bodies. Pretty simple. Its really all preference. They both lift completely different as well. You dont see bodybuilders doing 1-2 rep lifts whereas its common for powerlifters to do that. Yes an actual bodybuilder is strong but not as powerful on the 3 big lifts as a powerlifter. And generally a bodybuilder will be more aesthetically pleasing to the eye then a powerlifter because thats the goal of a bodybuilder. 2 DIFFERENT GOALS. And no, a true bodybuilder doesnt lift for the women. If that were the case, they wouldnt last more then a few months in the gym. There has to be passion. Without passion, youre going nowhere, my 2 cents.
Really annoys me when people imply powerlifting doesn't build a good physique, squat Bench and deadlift build a lot of muscle, most Powerlifters will also row, front squat, jm press, oh press etc and doing all the accessories that help their lifts gives an all rounded physique, biceps may the only lagging muscle along with calfs but if you have good genetics for both they won't, if not rows will still grow your biceps and 3 sets a week of curls is more than enough for biceps and unless you're flexing you arm your arm will still look aesthetic from the triceps mass
The thing is the best physiques are built in the kitchen. Eat cleaner than Mr. Clean and you will have a good physique. The lifting portion does't affect the physique as much as a perfect diet will.
most women prefer looks over strength when LOOKING at a guy but when in a relationship i think they would prefer having a strong guy who is functional to the point they can protect them and looks matter less when the girl starts liking the guy for their personality, yet them being strong does matter to a point.
In my opinion, in order to make a video about what's better, you have to define what you mean by better: If by better, you mean what is more sexually attractive, then aesthetics takes the win, unless perhaps the people judging your sexual attractiveness are also taking into account your ability to lift heavy.. which tips the scale back the other way. Similarly, overall "impressiveness" is subject to the same variables; it depends on who's being impressed, and what their taste/preference is. When I take my own judgement into consideration, I see someone with a stronger strength ceiling "better" than someone with a visually more appealing physique, but then again I am a regular gym goer and I have a much different opinion than a lot of people who don't lift themselves, and thus have a different perspective. In a strength competition, strength is better. In a modeling competition, looks is better. So, in the end, it all depends on individual aspirations and motivations. end rant p.s. just because you have a bigger following doesn't make you better. Point in case: 56 million people like mcdonald's on facebook, but just because they have a bigger following doesn't mean they have greater culinary skills than you or I.
Cardio is not bullshit. Running fast and long is super cool! But one of my problems is that I have no idea what I want to look like.. so I jsut do a lot of different stuff, but idk.. I find lifting weights a little boring? I want to be able to do things, run fast, dunk, be flexible, take flips, be able to jump high and control my body and just be able to throw it around. I want to be strong too of course, it would be awesome to be strong, but I actually don't want to look big at all. That is also the main reason I don't like lifting too much weights and that is also why I stopped lifting for some time.. But that's probably just me, most people don't get it when I say I really don't want to look big at all or have that masculine-look..
+Aadibass Totally get you. I like to aim at a mix of weight lifting and plyometrics. That way, I get as much of each disciplines 'cause you know, theres diminishing return everywhere. If I were to stick to only weightlifting, I'd eventually become slow and if I focused on plyos only, Id lack muscle mass (but not CNS).
Being buff and muscular guarantees SOME strength, which is enough to impress any non lifter female you meet at starbucks. Whereas strength does not guarantee looks, because you can be strong as fuck and look like antman or be strong as fuck and look like shrek, there is not really a middle ground. Strength means shit all to the MAJORITY of women. Looks all day.
I have a bmi of 17.5, which is underweight. It is easy at this particular point in my training to look good, because of my low body fat, but I have a surprising lack of strength.
I agree with u guys! Im traning for strenght and people ask me all the time if i even workout. i go to the gym and lift harder than the "big" guys. I even exercise more than them, but i dont care about appearance ;) as long as i can go and max out more than the guys around me im happy (y)
I want to be aesthetic and strong as hell. Not just strong but athletic. The moment aesthetics or size gets in the way of my athleticism, that's when I'll dial it back.
i want to be strong enough to fight a bear, fast enough to outrun gorilla, agile enough to climb mountains. i want that "supersoilder captain america" build, but i'm here eating a box of pizza while watching this video.
Looks gets the most attention of the masses and it's an instant eye catcher... then again I guess you could walk around with something impressively heavy lol. Also, when it comes to esthetics, for most ladies, I hear it's not ideal to get too big since it can be subconsciously threatening/ intimidating *just sayin'*. I personally always respect ability more than anything though.
Why should you only have to choose one! I like having both! I like being able to bench 1.8 times my bw, 2.0 times my squat, and 2.5 times my bw on the deadlift while still having abs! Why should you sacrifice looks for strength? Both can be acquired simultaneously with proper programming
Everyone has their own preference. Some people love hitting high numbers, some people want to look shredded. Personally i dont give a fuck about how good you look. I care about numbers.
I think the big difference in aesthetics and strength is why you're doing it. Do you want to look good (hopefully for yourself and not for others) or do you just want to lift heavy just for the sake of achieving it (without caring about the aesthetic results)? I personally do a little of both, because I workout in part to look good. But other times I just want to lift some heavy shit off the floor, and make it heavier and heavier safely over time. I don't want to be some huge bulky ass bodybuilder who can't fit through a fucking door and has to eat 23497 chicken breasts a day just to maintain his weight. I just want to look good, feel strong, and crush some fucking weights in the gym. Yeah training for strength might not give you the size and looks that bodybuilding does, but nobody can say people who train strength and keep their diet in check/do some cardio won't look good too.
I’m just starting powerlifting but I usually do lots of cardio after my workouts, honestly I don’t think women care about how much weight you can push pull. I think aesthetics are much more appealing, I’m sorta cutting weight, I definitely eat less but i eat a majority of carbs and protein for muscle growth and development.
Hit the compound ( Deadlift, squat, bench press) for strenght (3-5 rep range). get strong. And finish with some bodybuilding movements, Fly's, side raise, rows etc. U will get strong and Aesthetics ;)
Both are important but you gotta be careful not to pit the two against each other or use one as an excuse for the other. For example, a powerlifter making fun of an "aesthetic" guy for not squatting as much as him or the aesthetic guy saying the powerlifter is fat/looks like shit. Just respect that each individual person will put more emphasis in one area over the other (At different times in their lifting "careers" potentially) but there is no better/right answer.
I would say aesthetics is more popular but being stronger is more practical therefore it is better. What is popular isn't always what is better and I would say when something gains popularity that is through a mass of lack of knowledge than of knowledge. The more you know something the less popular your choices will slowly become compared to the masses.
Hey guys, ever heard of the Olympics? It emphasized strength, endurance, and aesthetics. Now-a-days its more of a joke, but the Olympics from the golden days included movements similar to modern power lifting; but they also placed great emphasis on aesthetics. With the perfect genetics, dedication, and rest, this two fields can join together.
There are many ways to express strength through various movements. The barbell is but one way. However for aesthetics there's only 1 medium through which to do this - from how to the human body looks rather than how it performs. Perhaps if you broaden the discussion of strength to 'performance' instead, there might be a case for performance winning against aesthetics.
The only time strength matters is the hour or 2 at the gym, other than that unless you are lifting cars on the street it doesn't matter how much you bench or squat. I say looks overall.
Neither one is more "important" than another. EVERYBODY has their own opinions and priorities so there is no and never will be a conclusive single answer. Also I personally do not agree with the saying that "there are no weak bodybuilders and there are no small powerlifters". You most definitely CAN train each "sport" (lol) exclusively (and therefore reap results accordingly) even though that is not the most optimal training method. At the end of the day, both are just for vanity wether you want to admit it or not. Actually this is all things fitness related e.g. I want to look attractive, I want to lift the heaviest weight, I want to run the fastest, jump the highest. Whatever. Who cares about who wants to do what just let them do it. Better than everybody playing CoD on their Xbox eating Doritos and jacking off all day.
I personally think it's not about how much you can lift.. but how much you LOOK like you can lift. They go hand in hand.. if one week your benching 150.. and the next your hitting 185. the muscle has no choice but to adapt and get stronger making it bigger and more aesthetic. Thats not so say some guys are just gifted and can get away with smaller weight and looking amazing doing it.. I would consider myself this type of lifter. Not by choice.. I want to rep 225 or 315 as much as the next guy lol they are goals.. but im milking every jump up for everything its worth!
A bigger muscle does physiologically have the potential to produce more strenght. But the way that strength is tested in one muscle is through isokinetic movements. But strength is more how much force you can produce efficiently (through the body's kinematic chain) but power is strength applied quickly. But just because someone has big muscles does not mean they are capable of the main power movements, bench press, overhead press, deadlift and squat, by default. It all has to do with how ones body is balanced, muscle wise and how they work together to produce the force required, quickly and efficiently through the kinematic chain.
Just about to watch this. First things first, i've had huge changes in my appearance throughout my life and looks get noticed. But i'm fat now haha, lifting BIG weights at gym though. Benched 180kg last night. Have turned a few heads. But that only happens while i'm lifting. Otherwise they have no idea.
If your question is about "What does the majority prefer", i think, but it should be proved, that looks is better for most people, but because of they think that look big = be strong. But if they discover that it's not the case, i can't tell if those people would change their mind or not. But all that i said, it's not very "scientific", what doesn't mean that it's not true. But it's not the place here to talk about science, opinions, fellings etc, and i don't speak englih enough good to talk about this. In fact, what i wanted to say, it's not about "what i think people think" but about giving my opinion, which i think is more than a personal opinion. I think nobody is "strong". You are strong at deadlifting, or you are strong at weightlifting, ou you are strong at running, or you are strong at sprinting, your are strong at enduring pain, you are strong at boxing, etc. So i don’t see the interest of feeling superior by lifting hard weights instead of growing big muscles. Because even if you lift weights, maybe at boxing you’re not very good. And if you’re good at boxing, you can’t do much about a kick in the balls, a finger in the eyes, or a bullet. There is no « Alpha » for me. Every human can be beaten or killed, so for me, the real « strength » is to « adapt » to your oponent, and use any means to achieve your goal if your goal is to kill. There can’t be no « fair play » because even if we all have to follow the same rules, we’re not all as good adapted to those rules. I would have much more to say about the « strenght » and about « being the strongest at something », but it’s late and i notice that it’s quite hard for me to explain my ideas in english. I hope that my message didn’t seemed aggressive, i found it looked like sometimes so i tried to change my sentences, but i’m not sure i’ve succeeded. Anyway, if it looks like an attack, it’s not the case.
If I had to pick one or the other I'd probably go for aesthetics. Despite almost solely focusing on Powerlifting and bulking as I continue to get stronger I will begin to place more and more emphasis on refining myself. At the end of the day I'm not a world class competitor and if you're not vying to be one the best why would you negatively impact your life. If you lift huge amounts of weight, look like it. When I'm trying to total 900 or 1000 I'll consider being U140 or SHW but until then, I'll continue coming down in BW and try and get as lean and healthy as I can while competing in powerlifting. Currently competing in 125kg when I really don't need to be isn't good for me. There are plenty of guys in the lighter weight classes who are out lifting me so if they can do it at that bw, why can't I? If I ever want to be a top class competitor I need to start being the heaviest I can be in the lightest class reasonably possible!
what it really comes down to is about what's most important to you. Don't let others tell you which is better. You define what has value to your life. what you work hard on should should reflect those values. I realize there are a lot of elitist meatheads will fall heavily into either or (looks are strength) and will look down on others for not being on their level. It's rather sad that we're so quick to criticize others. power lifters calling body builders pussies, and vice versa. Do people do this because they're insecure about what they're lacking? Do what's important to you instead of doing what's others define as important. me personally, I don't care much about looks (despite having a muscular physique), I care more about functional strength just for the sake of my ability in MMA.
I love how they playfully bash on each other as friends about their lifts. This is my new favorite series....much better than those long boring ass fitness podcasts. This is like JKNews for fitness. Keep it coming.
It goes kinda hand in hand i want to look good so I work out while pursuing the look the strength comes with it I've never had a problem with strength so it not that big a deal
Guys I have a question, I'm a wrestler and I want to start lifting again since I am recovering from a dislocated collarbone. Anyways are there any ways that I can lift weights and gain strength without getting too much mass?
First of all. Her saying she's doesn't like a buff guy who can't lift more than 3 plates is complete bullshit lol second, I really don't understand how some idiots in powerlifting assume bodybuilders are weak lol most bodybuilders lift an IMPRESSIVE amount of weight. I also find powerlifting pointless IF your not into sports or competition. Who the fuck cares how strong you are if you look like shit, I want to look good. I'd much rather be jacked with the strength of Spider-Man, than fat with the strength of the hulk lol
Maybe shes telling the truth..maybe there are 3 or 4 other crazy women like her who think like that..its all good tho, because the other 3 billion could give a shit how many plates you can lock out...
here's whats up.. and why i think Bodybuilding is faaar superior to powerlifting. Ive only been training 7months tho.. but still. As a BB you can train for strength and aesthetics. So you can train strenght like powerlifters do but also focus on shaping your body. And you look a lot better doing it.. and i would think it req a lot more brain into BB to "sculp" or w/e the word is your body to your desire compared to just lifting 100kg more. While its hard.. its not a complicated journey. So.. i feel like, BB = Aesthetics + Strength = Look good and be strong (if you wanted too) PL = get stronger = get fatter usually? and as a BB.. i rly couldnt care less about weight. im squatting like 100lb? Still sore as fck from my workout yday and making gains daylee.
I think this video should've been about skinny guys vs muscly guys if that makes sense. As in someone who goes to gym to get aesthetics and just that vs someone who goes beyond that and goes to the gym regularly, tries to beat his pr and cares about aesthetics but wants more because they want to be strong.
Also, anyone who is big as shit is also probably strong as shit. Everyone wants to say "big muscles don't mean big weight." Which is not true. Bigger muscles move bigger weights. Yes, people who are smaller might be stronger than you, but generally speaking, bigger muscles are stronger. Bodybuilders are usually strong as fuck.
Tommy Touhghnuts it's true. All the big guys are stronger than the average man. I love that burn and pain and nutrition. Powerlifting seems so pointless to me unless you're doing it for a school or something. Also, you're going to go to snap city someday in powerlifting
David Sourdis you mad? at least elaborate if you're going to call it the worse and most stupid comment on youtube. you can come up with a better insult with that can't you? fail
I think for most people in general, including myself, we'd rather have aesthetics than strength in most cases because its more tangible and more feels more rewarding. Looking at things from a BB (aesthetics) VS PL (strength) viewpoint. With aesthetics, you look good, you feel good, you tend to have more confidence plus you will tend to have a considerable amount of strength. On top of this, when you concentrate on aesthetics, you have to build up very small muscle groups which BB tends to ignore, which in most cases makes BB's stronger than PL's in most other categories other than the big 3, ALTHOUGH some BB's are able to out lift PL's. In summary, aesthetics is more rewarding as it is RECOGNISABLE thats why so many people prefer it because they feels it "pays off". But with strength i feel, it is less "tangible", but it is more about personal pride, satisfaction and goals. hence people may feel that it is less rewarding when people do not recognise your "strength". Thats why people rather choose aesthetics over strength or body building over power lifting in this case.
Strength matters in powerlifting but not as much in bodybuilding, two different worlds, not to say bodybuilders don't lift heavy. Most don't practice day in and out for a one rep max in three set moves. People are attracted to the persons physique at first sight though. I don't know any guy who checks out a girl and wonders how much she can glute thrust.
The only people who give a crap about how much weight you lift are other power lifters. The other 99 percent of the population only sees and cares about appearance. There's nothing wrong with either one but there is absolutely no contest. Very very few people even know what a deadlift or a squat are, let alone give a damn about it.
strength is definitely important and has a place in bodybuilding especially if its done naturally, but lets face it most guys get into lifting initially to attract chicks and build self confidence, and while lifting heavy weight is satisfying it can only be seen inside the gym, while the hard work put into sculpting a physique can be seen everyday in the mirror. Besides no girl will ever ask a guy how much you bench or squat lol
I'd say 95% go for looks. Don't have any friend that goes for strength. I go for strength though. Bulking as soon as my (very, very long, Holy shit it's long) cut phase is over.
aesthetics are nice and i think when someone looks at a guy who looks strong it has an impact on how you see that person like the girl said on this video BUT... When you see a STRONG man or woman, squating or snatching or doing a clean and jerk with a shit ton of weigh, has even a bigger impact on the people thats watching you, they way they struggle the steadiness the way the shoes hit the ground as they lift those insane weighs and the way they throw the weight like a boss, their motion... man thats inspirational, i want to be as strong as them,i want to be them, and from the point of view of a woman i dont know maybe they respect you more or they get aroused (for some reason they do when men do heavy work) or something who knows, but surely its a bigger impact that watching a buff dude, unless hes super roided, but then it turns kind of disgusting for some people.
My thoughts are power is essential but having so much strength wouldn't you want to work on your aesthetics at times? I'm not saying about going straight up body builder but just some variation to bring out more muscle. Grant it I'm not a very big guy but I work more on strength then looking big since I would rather lift heavier weight then I'm expected to do then use that to add some more muscle like I do a full month of strength workouts then I would do just mass workouts to look a bit bigger it's not showing as much but my bench incline power clean and squat are impressive for my size and I don't look like a total twig my arms are slowly getting bigger and my thighs are getting cut but I do strength then mass so that's just how I do it I don't know love your videos strength all the way though
Aesthetics over everything plus strength as well! Truth is no girl gives a fuark how much you squat or deadlift. Only few.. But not the majority of girls. Srs.
You can look good and be strong at the same time. Anybody who say it doesn't work that way is an idiot that obviously don't hit the gym. Ive been working out and exercising I was 17 in 1997 (a long time) so I should know. With that being said. I'd rather be a 6ft Asian, like I am, 190 lbs and shredded the fuck up with the whole ripped up traps, pecs, back and abs (the whole Rocky look) like I currently am and still be able to bench 300 lbs, run a 5k/@25 than be a 240 lbs shredded monster who can barely walk 3 flights stairs without having to stop for air and who can barely wipe their own ass any day. Bodybuilding is good and all if that is your means of feeling your family, but it definitely not for me.
I think both are important no doubt but visually u can see a impressive aesthetic guy or gal. You can be 300 lbs or 130 lbs and still be strong but with that said you can't see how strong a person is unless the person is lifting. Looks > Strength
What are you talking about. Bradley Martin is a huge and strong guy. It goes hand in hand in my opinion. I still think that Bradley is strong and that is why he has a big following.
I actually think human nature is to sort of "run" with whatever you have and God gave you. In other words if you are thick and strong, you tend to argue for powerlifting and that's what you like. If you are lean and vascular with great muscle definition, you are a more bodybuilding body and tend to train for it. Nothing wrong with that. I'm in the bodybuilding camp because that's how I look. I couldn't be a powerlifting if I tried I Dont think. My joints are small but not to say either is impossible. So there is nothing wrong with defending either side, but imo the more aesthetic one looks, the more attention you get. Aesthetic bodybuilding and powerlifting are very different.
Comparing a bodybuilder to a powerlifter is like comparing an artist to an athlete. Both should be respected equally. Do what pleases you most, bodybuilders can gets stronger as they consistently lift and powerlifters can also acquire some sort of aesthetics as they go more in depth with their training. Don't knock on it until you try it.
Both, but Looks outweigh Strength by a couple of points. On another note: People work on their looks mainly because that is the look they want to present rather than a motivation factor of what the opposite sex thinks. (Example: Females do not prefer over muscled or over veined guys..... the guys do it anyway because that is how they want to look)
But your comparison is not valid because Bradley Martyn is the perfect combination of aesthetic and strong so he has a giant following that is superior to any single bodybuilder or single powerlifter.. Strength that is also aesthetic has the biggest following because it's the best possible scenario
BUT WHY NOT JUST BE JACKED AND STRONG AT THE SAME TIME?

I think upper chest lags as well in powerlifting, but yes I do agree with you that powerlifting definitely builds good physiques completely.

olympic lifting builds the most complete physique, without actually intending to be aesthetic

In my opinion, in order to make a video about what's better, you have to define what you mean by better:
If by better, you mean what is more sexually attractive, then aesthetics takes the win, unless perhaps the people judging your sexual attractiveness are also taking into account your ability to lift heavy.. which tips the scale back the other way. Feras Boulala what is CNS?
Central nervous system. Thats what make you fire up your legs to run faster, extend knees to jump higher and controls all limb coordination
Feras Boulala oooh ahaaa
You need strength and power to be able to do what you want. Plyometrics by themselves aren't good enough. Strength x speed = power.
Being buff and muscular guarantees SOME strength, which is enough to impress any non lifter female you meet at starbucks. the room has too much of an echo
Audio is a bit off :/
i want to be strong enough to fight a bear, fast enough to outrun gorilla, agile enough to climb mountains. i want that "supersoilder captain america" build, but i'm here eating a box of pizza while watching this video.
then dont...lol
srJimineee yo i just finished eating a pizza while watching these vids LOL
Who says a box of pizza?
x3NGL4NDx somebody without cutlery
Looks gets the most attention of the masses and it's an instant eye catcher... then again I guess you could walk around with something impressively heavy lol. Also, when it comes to esthetics, for most ladies, I hear it's not ideal to get too big since it can be subconsciously threatening/ intimidating *just sayin'*. I personally always respect ability more than anything though.
You guys seriously need a better microphone, that echo is horrible to listen to...
Geo i'm getting so pissed, i love you but LISTEN TO OTHERS GIRL DAMN
Agreed
me too. i respect her but she just keeps stopping that guy saying i feel n think.. so he can't do sth out of feelings? wtf
Can U guys talk about ur opinion on STRETCH MARKS!! That would be great, much love peace!
I would say aesthetics is more popular but being stronger is more practical therefore it is better. What is popular isn't always what is better and I would say when something gains popularity that is through a mass of lack of knowledge than of knowledge. The more you know something the less popular your choices will slowly become compared to the masses.
do whatever the FUCK you wanna do!!!
Alex throws hella shade..... (David's voice) I LOVE IT
Neither one is more "important" than another.
I love when Lu gets frustrated hahahaha
Yo lu. What kind of haircut do you get around the side and what kind of pomade do you use?
Bring this bb talk show team back, please!!!
aesthetics over everything
Agree
pussy
Who cares about strength? I do care about how I look not about how much I can bench
Doug Yeah...
money over aesthetics
Average person appreciates aesthetics more, average lifter appreciated powerlifting more
Saying Dan Green looks "decent" is one of the biggest understatements I have ever heard...
Not really dudes really big it isn't the best look to chicks
I love how they playfully bash on each other as friends about their lifts. This is my new favorite series....much better than those long boring ass fitness podcasts. This is like JKNews for fitness. Keep it coming.
It goes kinda hand in hand i want to look good so I work out while pursuing the look the strength comes with it I've never had a problem with strength so it not that big a deal
I think a lot of people now like a body that is aesthetically pleasing, and also the strength to back it up.
Geo and alex are fuckin hatersss cuz Lu had a point this whole video
+Rehan Khan Exactly
lu is a moron
Guys I have a question, I'm a wrestler and I want to start lifting again since I am recovering from a dislocated collarbone. Anyways are there any ways that I can lift weights and gain strength without getting too much mass?
mass/size is diet-induced. you can get stronger without getting bigger by keeping your caloric intake at maintenance levels.
I'd much rather be jacked with the strength of Spider-Man, than fat with the strength of the hulk lol
ulisses jr squats 5 plates calm
Maybe shes telling the truth..maybe there are 3 or 4 other crazy women like her who think like that..its all good tho, because the other 3 billion could give a shit how many plates you can lock out...
She knows deep down that she's way more attracted to aesthetics. She's just saying otherwise so she doesn't come off as your typical girly girl.
lolol Realest comment ever
here's whats up.. and why i think Bodybuilding is faaar superior to powerlifting.
So.. i feel like, BB = Aesthetics + Strength = Look good and be strong (if you wanted too)
PL = get stronger = get fatter usually?
and as a BB.. i rly couldnt care less about weight. im squatting like 100lb? Still sore as fck from my workout yday and making gains daylee.
I think this video should've been about skinny guys vs muscly guys if that makes sense. As in someone who goes to gym to get aesthetics and just that vs someone who goes beyond that and goes to the gym regularly, tries to beat his pr and cares about aesthetics but wants more because they want to be strong.
Don't feel like there's a better side. It's all personal preferences.
Nah
Tommy Touhghnuts it's true. All the big guys are stronger than the average man. I love that burn and pain and nutrition. Powerlifting seems so pointless to me unless you're doing it for a school or something. Also, you're going to go to snap city someday in powerlifting
Yipyo1986 worst and most stupid comment on youtube
Lol having muscles and having strength are two differentthings
David Sourdis you mad? at least elaborate if you're going to call it the worse and most stupid comment on youtube. you can come up with a better insult with that can't you? fail
lmfao I freaking love Geo
Why not power build? Basically focus on everything rather than just one type of training style.
When is the oprimal working-out age?
Every age
***** fuuuuu
I can fix the audio in your videos. All the reverb in the videos makes the speech harder to hear; I can remove the reverb in post
The only people who give a crap about how much weight you lift are other power lifters. The other 99 percent of the population only sees and cares about appearance. There's nothing wrong with either one but there is absolutely no contest. Very very few people even know what a deadlift or a squat are, let alone give a damn about it.
I have such a big crush for Lu, he seems like a nice person :)
strength is definitely important and has a place in bodybuilding especially if its done naturally, but lets face it most guys get into lifting initially to attract chicks and build self confidence, and while lifting heavy weight is satisfying it can only be seen inside the gym, while the hard work put into sculpting a physique can be seen everyday in the mirror. Besides no girl will ever ask a guy how much you bench or squat lol
I'd say 95% go for looks. Don't have any friend that goes for strength. I go for strength though. Bulking as soon as my (very, very long, Holy shit it's long) cut phase is over.
Alex is on that GH. His head has gotten pretty big.
aesthetics are nice and i think when someone looks at a guy who looks strong it has an impact on how you see that person like the girl said on this video BUT...
Whats the background music
She makes your videos so much funnier ! Haha
Srs.
Quang Tran you have come a long way
You can look good and be strong at the same time.
I'm not very strong yet but I also agree with Geo. I silently judge people who can't squat 2-3 plates full depth when they look like they bench 405.
"Breakups make bodybuilders."
Basically. My girl moved to Kansas a year ago and I haven't left the gym since.
I think both are important no doubt but visually u can see a impressive aesthetic guy or gal. You can be 300 lbs or 130 lbs and still be strong but with that said you can't see how strong a person is unless the person is lifting. Looks > Strength
Is that the gym Dom Mazzetti Aka Arnold use?
jacob drachmann yes!
asking the real questions!
Strength? Looks? pfft. Obviously it's all about the power level! IT'S OVER 9000!!!!
What do they do for living?
do these guys know anything about maxx chewning?
Both, but Looks outweigh Strength by a couple of points.
On another note: People work on their looks mainly because that is the look they want to present rather than a motivation factor of what the opposite sex thinks. (Example: Females do not prefer over muscled or over veined guys..... the guys do it anyway because that is how they want to look)
But your comparison is not valid because Bradley Martyn is the perfect combination of aesthetic and strong so he has a giant following that is superior to any single bodybuilder or single powerlifter.. Strength that is also aesthetic has the biggest following because it's the best possible scenario
"i wanna LOOK like the mothafucka that can bench 4 plates. i tried benching 4 plates once--damn near killed myself" -Chris Jones
😂
your size should represent your strength, if you are big and buff, then you should be able to back up your looks.
or just bulk up by doing med/high weights for high reps
ill never get these 10min back
lol I just found this channel and its awesome!
She's laying in on this one!
What's better: strength or looks? haha....that's an easy one. I will definitely go with a positive personality at any given day! :)
