I just picked up a 25, ZR2, with gas engine. Coming from a GMC I was a little bias towards the GMC but the 8-10k I saved made it worth it to get the ZR2. looks wise I say they're neck and neck, everything else is a wash. Can't go wrong with either.
@ My previous truck was a Sierra 1500 with the 5.3, I do residential HVAC for a living and work out of my truck so that played a lot into it. I live in CO and camp and hunt a lot and my camper is only 20’ long and only 4K pounds fully loaded. I’d have no use for a diesel honestly, I just needed the extra bed space and wanted something that’s great off-road. I’ve only owned the truck for a month or so so I’m still getting use to it but I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the power. It’s different tho, with the 10 speed the power seems so linear. If you step on it, it don’t put you in your seat but the shifts are so smooth and it constantly pulls so in a sense it kinda feels like a diesel in a way. Before you know it you’re going 95. I feel like first gear seems pretty low so in town and stop and go traffic if you’re not smooth on the pedal it’s kinda jumpy but maybe that’s just me. The transmission feel is completely different than the old 6 speed that was in my Sierra so that’s probably the biggest thing to get use to. This is just a personal thought but I feel like this has engine is begging for some boost. A supercharger or turbos would probably do wonders for this engine trans combo. Sorry to ramble but those are some thoughts. Lol
That textured paint is not like LineX beginner material. Its a soft fletching base coat covered in paint and it chips easily. I've got two of them and the black paint us siftv as hell and sucks.
@@BSnydr The AEV bumper is standard on the GMC 1500. It's a money grab on the 2500. Like the Bison package the AEV is basically weight too. Personally if you don't need the towing capacity buy the 1500 and put leveling kit and lift on the truck and save $20K vs the 2500 trucks
I have a 2500 zr2 bison the only difference is between the aev at4x and the zr2 bison are the massage seats , suede headliner ,different wheels, the lights on the fender flares. I couldn’t justify $12k for that stuff. Also the at4x reverse lights are trash. You can’t see anything while reversing.
The AEV Bison package is available for the Silverado and includes the AEV bumpers just like the GMC. The AEV package is a $9,100 option. To show the GMC with a $9,100 AEV option is not an apples to apples comparison. Add the cost of the AEV package to the Silverado and it’s a $96k truck not $87k.
100k plus... RIDICULOUS !!! This truck for that price should have a million mile warranty, the absolute top of the line fully loaded bumber to bumper accessories. Leave it on the lot.... go buy a used truck and spend a fraction of the cost, whether you do it yourself or pay some one. You will have a far better truck... the only down fall is it's still a old truck. Problem is... both old and new .. today's insurance. One wrong hit, and the insurance company totals it no questions asked. Absolutely insane.
Just got my 2025 AT4X AEV is this shit! I compared it with the Bison and it definitely a way nicer interior on the GMC than the Chevy Bison and you can't get the massaging seats and I'm pretty sure the Bison isn't standard with Kicker audio in tailgate or electric steps. Btw in AZ at Royal GMC you get lifetime powertrain warranty at no additional charge. This was the only way I could justify paying a small house for a truck. These bastards will be sorry they sold it to me 900,000 miles later. lol
Where’s the front locker though! Also I cannot lie…… kind of in love with my LZ0 and I also have the L5P currently for sale. I think my perfect setup would be the ZR2 1500 with the LZ0 and the 2025 Z71 Tahoe with the LZ0…..changes daily 😂
@@franksway3658 35 in tires,1.5 in lift, rear locker, off road mode to adjust settings and rear shocks not the 🤡 shocks that's on the low country... big difference between the two actually....
Sometimes it's just a matter of "I like what I like". Yes, overall, if I were penny pinching and going item for item, the Chevy would be my choice but all things considered, The GMC is just a better looking vehicle while the Chevy doesn't really do anything for me. THE GMC ALL THE WAY!
Wonder how the shipping issues coming up will affect repairs for these massively overpriced trucks? So you’ll pay 1500-2k/month for it to be “we are waiting on parts, and btw your warranty ended.” Just like COVID times, no thanks.
If you are doing a true comparison, since the ZR2 doesn't have the Bison package remove $10K from the price of the GMC for the AEV package
Fog lights are LED on the Silverado too. The power deployable running boards are also an option on the Silverado
Umm the zr2 does come with factory power running boards too if u order it that way
The ZR2 Bison doesn't have any different tires. Only different wheels, steel bumpers, full steel skids, and some AEV badging.

What made u go gas if u don’t mind me asking? Also, how do u like the feel of the engine?

The AT4X comes with massage seats and the ZR2 doesn’t
😂😂, exactly
And a suede headliner!
Message seats? Damn, mine only has massage seats. 😂
I have power steps on my '25 ZR2 from the factory....they are available.

I like the interior and exterior of the GMC. So I’d probably go with that.
I did go with the AT4x AEV and its unbelievable how comfortable the seats are.
$10,000 saving on ZR2 made it an easy decision for me.
The AEV package is the GM version of the Bison package. If you remove the AEV the pricing is pretty much the same.
@@steveeckert8396you don’t gain anything except weight with the Bison package. You lose towing capacity

I see fine with my reverse lights. By perspective
Good review young man. I thought I knew it all about the GMC, but learned a little nugget.

AEV comes with the AEV floor mats
Why would you do an AT4X against the non Bison
To make it more comparable, you should’ve done the ZR two bison versus AT4X AEV…. Your pricing is misleading
I'd be happy with the Chevy....if used 10k I'd be OK with that to if it knocked down the price more lol
My 2024 high country midnight edition is pretty much the same thing as the Zr2 minus the shocks and lift 😂
So it's not the same

Get the 3500HD Ultimate!
GMC comes in 3500, my understanding is the ZR2 is only on a 2500.
GMC AEV package only comes in the 2500
wrong. you cannot get in in 3500
Wrong, if you want a 3500 that is similar you need to get the 25 Trailboss HD.

$ 100,000 truck … 😅 gotta go man . Nice & very cool but , huh ?
Not worth watching when you’re comparing AEV to a regular ZR2. Cmon bro

Sheesh, $90k for a GM…yikes!!
Lol!
really? do some research, anyone that is going to go off roading, is not gonna have a heavy diesel engine, these are street trucks.
its also 18K towing for the AEV edition so lose a bit of that 22k towing that comes with the normal at4x
Neither one would I buy, because there JUNK!
English lessons are in order for you.
For that prosper paying for that you can get the Ford F250 Baja raptor for almost the same price
Nobody wants that piece of junk tho
