I too think this truck looks sick, especially with factory 35s. You have to do a lot of cutting on a Tacoma to even make 33s fit well without rubbing off road. Oh, and side note, these are definitely 35s, not 34 point whatevers. Tires labeled 35 (usually 35x12.50r…) are also only 34 point whatever inches tall.
GM really does have something special with the ZR2 lineup and yeah they should make these trucks even more special due to them being their halo truck lineup.
The Colorado version is atleast pretty special. Dual lockers, longer travel suspension, active suspension, bumpers and unique interior. I think that qualifies its trim level....other trucks idk
@@mathieuk119 I'd definitely consider the Colorado variant to be the center of the two. The Silverado and especially the HD models just look like mild upgrades from their other trims while the Colorado ZR2 is much different than the lower trim models. Consider it has full armor already. If you took a stock Tacoma and put a winch bumper, rear steel bumper, and full skid plates you'd take 200-300lbs out of the payload.
Fuel economy was never mentioned for the Colorado ZR2 Bison. With the 35’s I expect to see 17-18 mpg from the 2.7L 4-banger turbo. That poor fuel mileage is unacceptable for a midsize truck. The upcoming 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro hybrid should get 25-27 mpg.
@@mini2nut67 You're really comparing dramatically different levels of off-road performance. The Tacoma doesn't have long travel suspension, doesn't have a front locker, doesn't have a winch capable bumper, has smaller and much less aggressive tires.
I agree on the Tacoma TRD Pro vs. Colorado ZR2 Bison capability. By the time you upgrade the TRD Pro performance to the ZR2 Bison level you’re probably gonna have similar mpg. I love Toyota (as I own a 2022 4Runner TRD Pro now) but I just don’t think they’re offering anything comparable to Chevy and Ford (with the Ranger Raptor) level of performance this generation.

Wheel size on silverado smaller than the Colorado. Very big fail from GM /Chevy part. You can't even squeeze a 35 on the silverado without major rub. The second issue is if you do lift the truck, you lose the 4 high capabilities. Another failure. The third issue is they still have the worst fuel mileage. A ZR1 corvette gets better fuel mileage than this truck. Very sad day for the silverado.
Colorado owners are complaining of buckling roofs. Fuel mileage was never mentioned for the Colorado ZR2 Bison. With 35’s my guess is 17-18 mpg. That’s about what a normally aspirated small block V8 gets. YIKES!!!

I have a 2022 1500 ZR2 with the 6.2L. It is at the dealer right now needing a 3rd engine and it only has 24K miles. STAY AWAY!
You took a lot of time to make a video for this 2500. Hope next can be better… talk so much, but still didn’t mention what I want to know! 😅
Cost to dang much. It will be nearly $70k when all is said and done
"Hydraulic bump-stop"..... I thought a bump-stop was a last resort item.... a rubber thingy attached to a frame
The Bison is $9k on the heavy duty but only $8400 on the Silverado, soooo maybe just maybe only $7500 on the Colorado? Hopefully, fingers crossed.
Hi En
Biggest yes colorado never been bigger lol don’t think that’s good thing though . Perfer older mid size truck feels like full size truck with full size prices 😂
I like the trucks. Unfortunately I've learned my lessons with buying new and for me, I will never buy another new vehicle. They are literally programmed to fail after a certain time.
GM would have great off road vehicles if it wasn't for the 💩 front suspension! They have the most skin in the game as far as IFS, yet refuse to change the design for their off road vehicles!
Yes, it makes for a great on road tow rig but it does Not have the travel nor strength for a competitive off road desert rig...
Colorado bison is 52k at my dealer, drove one yesterday. On the articulation rack it did ok, not great, my Tremor did better. I only have added 35in nittos and DV8 bumpers.
No reason they couldn't do integrated tips like sierra. The 3.0L is $3000, the y.2 is 3800
This trucks are overpriced! The monthly payments on this truck $1235-$1899 depends on your credit. Interest rate are too high.
$60k mid-size truck 😅
What’s the great about diesel? It’s five bucks a gallon
Thanks for showcasing the smallest percentage of trucks the largest percentage of the population cannot afford!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. Keep up the great fantasy videos. 😂😂
Chevy is taking over the truck world! Shout out to my palm Springs homies
tigerjet!
Very sad day for the silverado.
the edition 1 is 67k
👍👍👍2500HD
La Chevy colorado ZR2 si tuviera el motor 3,0 DIÉSEL DURAMAX como la Silverado 1.500 y la GMC sería más competitiva en todos los terrenos.
Dude sounds like he ran a frigging marathon before recording the video..
Colorado owners are complaining of buckling roofs.
Fuel mileage was never mentioned for the Colorado ZR2 Bison. With 35’s my guess is 17-18 mpg. That’s about what a normally aspirated small block V8 gets. YIKES!!!
My guess 13mpg
@@gordmonteath6090 Abysmal. This is why the new Tacoma TRD Pro hybrid will be in demand. It should get 25-27 mpg.
MPG is 16 city 16 Hwy
@@R32vdubb That’s dismal for a 4-cylinder motor.
@@mini2nut67IT IS !!! I was thinking about replacing my current Tacoma due to its crappy mpgs but after seeing the reported range for these new trucks (Colorado, Tacoma 4th gen) it makes no sense.
The shifter in the middle is the dumbest thing GM has done yet.
More like up against the tremor family not raptors.
Great for UA-cam videos.
If no one can afford it. Then it becomes a waste. 😂
All charge 2,000$ every 2 years for navigation 😂😂😂
Wait what? You have to pay for NAV now? When did this change? Tnx
@@fit4ya1975 this year I believe its subscrition based now nobody wants to talk about it
if obly it was reliable
$200 grand
I just dont understand why you would spend that kind of money and buy the Colorado? Makes zero sense
yawn, GM trucks, solid 3rd place amongst the big three.
Silverado front end is ugly
No it's not
