This reaction had me smiling the whole way through. Still killing the game , my friend 🙏🙏🙏
Hey Chase! 👋
I keep rewatching your Teacher Teacher reaction from quite a while ago haha
I'm def adding Julia's to the mix 😄
Same here, bro. I was rubbing my hands like a super villain. I knew that she would love this song.
Both of you are 2 of the best in the game
Julia has taken the title of queen of breakdowns. You still the man, though, Chase.
Yes, I agree man.I love her reactions, especially to Jinjer
I'm a simple man; I see a vocal coach reacting to Jinjer, I click play.
Amen, brother
@@falloutfan2502 I'm simple man too, see this comment on Jinjer, i click like :D
Preach, my good sir
@@lobotomomine I'm a simple man that tentatively tiptoes out of the realms simplicity; I see meta comments commenting on comments that comment on their preference to click on videos about vocal coaches reacting to Jinjer and I click like!
I'm simpler I just hit like THEN watch it.
What I like about Jinjer, is that they don't make Tatiana a gimmick. As in "look our female vocalist does growls". She is just an amazing vocalist all around.
And the whole frigging band is good. She's just one of them.
*cough* *cough* butcher babies...... lol
Yeah the band is good enough that she isn’t the gimmick, she’s just a novel part of an overall great unit
@@deetsitmeisterjd Yeah, but the point is that she isn't just eyecandy :)
@@leewhitesell7981 Saw them 9nce at ozzfest/knotfest. Holy sex sells gimmicky bullshit. And the music is terrible too.
Those “alarm” type sounds you’re hearing at the end are from the bass guitarist. So it’s not an additive, he’s just a beast.
You can see what he does at 12:13 in this clip
Aren’t those what we call pinch harmonics?
Jinjer just casually throwing in some brbr deng there
@@samirnietsch5531 it's a large harmonic chord, no pinch
I've heard it said that's one reason he plays a 5-string bass, to have the flexibility to do that kind of thing.
That extra sound is just Eugene doing Eugene things on his bass.
Exactly
Yes it is hip hop don't be scared to say it!!
Jinjer is purposefully mixing up their favorite music genres with metal.
Some songs are jazzy some are leaning into reggae or bossa nova or even hip hop.
This falls into the genre of Nu metal i think.
It is basically very progressive music that goes back and forth between different "smooth" genres and metal.
I really love this dynamic in style and tempo.
Jinjer is my favorite band ever.
I am so excited for more of your videos!
Greetings from austria
I like that Eugene just labels them "extreme music."
@@HollowGolem well its true but i guess that would be a pretty vague description xD.
I love eugene.
He is the reason i want to play bass.
Oh, and I forgot that every member of the band deserves a master’s degree in the profession.
I was not a fan of growling. I watched Pisces and was shocked. Something about it was intriguing. Watched a few more times. Had to see if it was real. Watched Perennial Live at Wacken. Blown away. Watched Who Is Gonna Be The One Live. That's it. I'm all in now. Tatiana and this band are INCREDIBLE!
Yes, Tati converted me to liking harsh vocals too. She's amazing.
Same
In my humble opinion, this song is a perfect song. A complex time signature, insane musicianship, variance in the song, Tatiana gets to show off the full range of her vocal capabilities, a wink to Pink Floyd's No Education. And I'm sure I missed a few more things that make this song so rich and endlessly replayable.
LOVE the reaction to it. I also love that you do both a reaction and an analysis in your videos. The captions say what you are thinking and your face show how you are feeling. Awesome channel!
No, no, please never stop praising Jinjer, their musicality and tightness as a band is always beautiful
and rarely matched...
Seeing Jinjer be used as a gateway drug into the metal I love is so appealing to me
Lmao at that ending. Don't apologize for going back to relisten, I don't think anyone here is upset with that, especially if they like Jinjer.
Judgement and Punishment One Take vocal is incredible. Also, I Speak Astronomy (official music video) is my personal favorite. The whole band is incredible (not Vlad but an earlier drummer) and Tatiana's vocals are killer...
Agreed. I Speak Astronomy is my fave.
Love this one. We also get to see Tati taking a few turns at being the chanteuse.
Wdym not Vlad? Vlad is a human metronome, a near-on genius on those drums with the rhythms and especially poly rhythms and the insane technicals he and the rest of the band are pulling. He's helped take the band to new proggy heights.
@@RockSolitude He's saying the drummer in the ISA video is not Vlad. It was their previous drummer. Vlad is God on the drums. No argument!
@@RockSolitude Because the drummer at the time was Dimitri Kim, Vlad joined a year later.
when Tatiana turns and points and says "I smile to you, I smile to you" it blows me away
They're one of those bands that are all excellent musicians but can be overshadowed because the vocalist is INSANELY talented. The absolute noise they put out live is unreal.
This is my favorite song of theirs. My favorite part is when Tatiana stomps her foot down and says "Teacher, teacher, self-proclaimed preacher." Just so incredibly powerful and commanding. The breakdowns immediately after the blast beats is another favorite part.
This reaction might also be my favorite reaction.
She does that a lot in Live shows, what a power move, she looks so badass
Judgement and Punishment one take should be your next reaction/analysis...its Tatiana standing up to a microphone ..side view so you can really see how she sings very clearly. Perfect for analysis. Great song too
^This! Lol
A ginger reacting to Jinjer. This sweet irony is not lost upon me....and it's amazing. Great reaction!!
You should react to Jinjer "Home Back"
Agreed. Home Back takes it to another level, both vocally and instrumentally.
@@DK-wl4ne and the video is powerful. A bit of background might help here - in 2014 war broke out in eastern Ukraine shortly after Russia occupied the Crimean Peninsula. The battle lines would have stopped them touring so they were forced to leave their homes, families, and friends behind and move to western Ukraine. There is a ceasefire now, and Tati says "it isn't being bombed anymore" and they can visit their families once a year. But as the song says, home isn't just a place but is security and freedom and nobody has that in a warzone.
Julia watching:
Pisces - giggling, panting sounds, big eyes, "WAAAT?!"
Perennial - shocked with vocal transition in live
Teacher, Teacher - headbanging.
The moral of a fable: only two Jinjer tracks and Julia is a metalhead =D
I love Jinjer. Tatiana taught me to learn to appreciate metal screams. I did not ever apreaciate that harshness prior. Then I had to stretch my appreciation of the crazy, changing, hard, instrumentation, as well.. Jinjer is just so awesome.
Definitely not alone being introduced to enjoying screams by Tatiana. I feel the same and have seen many others express that sentiment. :)
Great review/reaction.
I think this is my favorite jinjer song. It's just so well written. Tatiana's vocal acrobatics and stag presence is mind boggling. Love the double kick drum portion it just gets you worked up. I will never get sick of this song.
You made it through without gorilla noises, Julia! ❤️ Yay! 😂
Julia the type of girl to say "HOW DARE YOU DO THIS TO ME?"
I miss Julia's inner-gorilla.
I think Julia's gorilla noises are endearing !!
@@Tomloser4321 Oh, heck yeah! All of the various Julias are as well. 😊
I just didn't want to embarrass her by saying "piddling", so I went with the "gorilla noises" reference.
Oh, wait. Something is amiss...
🤔
@@howardstark Oh, my favourite is vampire-Julia. So frighteningly beautiful.
That 'alarm' sound at the end is the bass being strummed. Even shows him doing it. Saw them live in 2019 for this EP & Macro which came out while touring. Rest assured Tatiana sounds just like this live
this song is probably the best of all of theirs to hear live. the energy with the crowd is just insane. im so glad i got to see them live
I feel like Tati might have watched your Perennial reaction because of the way she answered a question about warmups in her interview with Loudwire "How Jinjer's Tatiana Shmaylyuk Learned to Scream."
Tatiana uses rap cadence in her growls a lot, with her clean vocals less so, but it is definitely one of the tools in her toolset she's not afraid to use and uses well. If you want to compare live and studio there is Teacher Teacher live in Melbourne. If you ever want to do double-features to Jinjer songs that have both omv and official live, you won't get any complaints. At least, not from the Jinjer fans.
Your statement about the emotional drive feels absolutely true to me. What makes her my favorite singer is the feeling she puts into everything she sings, and that comes through so powerfully on stage.
Sit Stay Roll Over live at Melbourne has more of her vocal tricks than any other song that I've seen recorded and is well worth checking out. The entire Melbourne show was released as Alive In Melbourne as a live album and the full set video is on YT.
As to belting: I Speak Astronomy has arguably the most intense belting of any Jinjer song live (she growls the belted line from Pisces on stage), though the official video is so beautiful it is hard to pick just one version to recommend. On The Top live in Kiev and Words of Wisdom official live have most of the clean lines being belted.
The dinging in the end is Eugene hitting the bottom string of his bass.
Both Eugene and Roman have tech at their disposal through pedals and their backstage tech to deliver all the little extra flavor sounds you hear during their live performances.
Especially in terms of the music, what you hear on the album tends to be what they play live.
Tatiana has some wiggle room in the vocals she delivers but overall, this band likes delivering what they play on albums as what they play live.
I am aware that Jinjer reactions have almost become their own UA-cam genre by now, but I especially love your reactions because your observations actually add something to the experience beyond the "shock & amazement" factor.😊
Hey! Bass player here, the end little “alarm sound” is the bass. He’s taking his nail and using that to strum the strings to give it the twangy metallic sound. He’s next next next level.
That "warning" ping sound at the end was the bass player pulling on the higher G string like a funk player would slap and pop. With distortion on the bass you get that ringing sound.
Loving your Jinger reactions!
"Please let me know [about more hip-hop/metal mixes]"
Julia, I'd like to introduce you to my close, personal friends Rage Against the Machine. You may have heard of them, though they're pretty underground....
OMG yes, especially their concert videos. Killing In The Name for 1993 is a good one.
and Body Count and Mc5 and......
RATM is not metal, i think she knows about them, but she is looking for more heavy stuff (like this intro, more djenty and less "rock")
@@matttake4852 oh really? Can you tell us please what is metal?
@@paulriddle7818 Ok, so you think RATM is metal, good to know.
She is like having a 4 person vocal group in a tiny little package
I found Jinjer by accident the other day and by Christ am i in love with this god damn band !
She takes you on a storytelling journey of pure awesomeness
After work ?... Tired ? Jinjer reaction is all what you need ... if it's blended with vocal coach ... and not that small glass of some kind of fluid changing consciousness ... Heaven
That "one sound" is just the bass. Since he's an amazing player, He can put that in there and make it sound amazing.
The "alarm" sound was the bass playing a full chord with a lot of "twang".
Imagine Tatiana singing bossa nova. Then realize you don't have to imagine it, you just have to find it. 😉
Don't go too far..Try 'Home Back'
This is their second best clickbait song, the other is obviously Pisces, but they never disappoint! My love and prayers to Jinjer and the rest of the Ukraine!💖💖💖🙏🙏🙏
Brooo her live preformrence is evennn bettterrrrrr swear to godddddd she is unreallll
"So cool. So cool. I really like it. I'm gonna listen to it again" Julia, you are all of us.
This song is an absolute masterpiece!
I have completely fell in love with their music! It's so hard and rhythmical, groovy and melodic at the same time! I cant get enough of this!
Teacher, Teacher was my first Jinjer song. I was so ready for it to just be an almost pantera style groove-metal song and then I got smacked in the side of the head with what it actually is. Always a joy to listen to.
I think i have man-crush on the drummer 😂 his drumming is sick AF
Now let's enjoy her lows and screaming with Pit of consciousness live in Kiev. So good played and mixed.
I was drawn here by Julia's extensive technical knowledge of music. Of course it doesn't hurt that she's a gorgeous ginger that enjoys listening to Jinjer (and Tatiana especially!)
Yeah, her voice is smooth but you can feel that nasty, dangerous edge in it. Was really looking forward to another Jinjer reaction of yours, it's been eons. Love your observations and thoughts. Don't make us wait so much again, Jinjer is always a fruitful playground.
My God, I never get sick of this. Jinjer are next level.
Julia, (Юлия - in Russian)) - you make me happy in musical sense. Everytime) Tati (to my mind) - is our Princess of Metal Music. But Jinjer are no Tatiana only. This bass, drums, guitar... You know, you hear it. Couse you are the Professional. Thank you for this one. Thank you for your excellent reactions, your job. This is very important for many musical people. And my cry: more Dimash, please)))
The drummer with the blast beats!! I felt a cramp coming on just hearing it lmao. Rock on bro!!
to be frank, they might as well be some of the finest musicians around, like.. ever
Can we give some props to the videographers who work with Jinjer? In all of their live and official videos, I’m super impressed by the camera work. In the lead-in to the second chorus of this one, I can never refrain from bobbing my head when the camera follows Vlad’s exaggerated snare hit and continuing from there. So good! 😍
I think they are the best thing in music today. Tatiana is a rock goddess. The band is insane. I saw them in person several mos ago and they sound just as good in person. They are a must see 🙏🙏
What a fantastic breakdown from a someone becoming a real fan! Well done;)! Absolutely LOVE this band!
Jinjer is not afraid of getting influnces from any music style. Thats really one thing they do great mixing different music styles with metal. So i dont think you are wrong on the hip hop vibes in this one
To watch Tati going through a whole concert is actually quite simply: They`ve produced a CD live in Melbourne (one of the last concerts before the lockdown!).
In there they perform also "Teacher, Teacher" - and it`s also available on youtube, so don`t be shy... 😊
Guys...she's becoming a metalhead. Aint it great to watch? We love it Julia, welcome and enjoy.
I wondered if you'd do this reaction, so happy to see it. For me it's her growls that grabs you and brings you in, but after listening to a lot of Jinjer tracks/albums, I've come to appreciate the band as a whole. The drummer, bassist and guitarists are all phenomenal, it just took me a little longer to realize it. Always love to her your input!
Eugene is one of the sickiest bassists I've ever heard.
@@DavidMateos56 He's flipping amazing, not sure I've seen anyone do what he does on the bass.
Shaggy-haired Eugene on bass reminds me of Tyrion Lannister. - "I am the gift". Ridiculously good!
Around 7 min in you mentioned Tatiana's voice feeling energized even when she is calm. Its certainly understandable as you make the example of the counter point.
Your voice is always calm and relaxing even when you are excited. Its a very centered, comfortable vibe you project.
After the shock of Pisces there is a lot to love about this whole band and you seem like you'll continue to enjoy them. Hope you keep bringing us more of them.
After seeing jinjer live, what you see is what you get, this was the opening song, I kid you not, it's flawless. It sounded just like the video, just amplified. Great live show
I can tell you really really loved this song! It’s my favorite as well because of all the various vocals, music arrangement and almost three song tunes in one. Such a great song with a sound message of school. Thanks Julia, a wonderful reaction once again.🙏🏼🌹💕
The ending of this song is one of the most powerful vocals in any rock or metal song ever, just goose bumps every time… 😳
That siren sound you referred to is when the Bass player strums all of his strings and it actually shows him doing that at the very end. Rewatch it and you'll see.
If you want to see how Tatiana and Jinjer have evolved over the years, take a look at their "Scissors" video.
This is a great idea. Or the video of Exposed As A Liar live, released as "JINJER - Crowd Factory Official DVD Trailer"
She made you jump and curse. Mission accomplished Jinjer. Keep kicking ass Julia.
We need more Jinjer from you Julia!!!
And about the genres Jinjer fits in, there is a comment I read several times before and it is like that.
music producer: What genre do you play?
Jinjer: Yes.
I really like that you mention and appreciate what the band is doing too, even though your focus is of course on the vocals
Thanks so much for your analysis of" Teacher Teacher" It's very cool that you are a fan of the band and as a vocal coach you did such a passionate and thorough job describing why you think her voice is special..........me too !
Having heard them perform this live; it's a total showcase of everything that they can do as a band. For such a tiny woman her stage presence and allure is awesome. Great to see you loving this band again. Cheers Julia.
My god I love watching you. You’re reactions are amazing
So happy to see you comeback to Jinjer after such a long time. Your Pisces reaction video 8 months ago was actually the first time I was introduced to Jinjer and after your video, I went and listened to all their songs and became a huge fan, so thank you for that.
I am surprised that you went for the OMV of teacher, teacher for your next reaction instead of the one take vocal of Judgment & punishment. But you surely will get there, hopefully soon, so there's that to look forward to.
Also, you are definately right about the rap/hip hop bit at the begining and almost half in the song, it also stood out to me like this in my first listen. They do like to incorporate lots of different music styles in their songs and Judgment & punishment is one of them. Home back is also a good song with a surprising break in the middle.
Cheers
When you hear the live version from Melbourne, you will appreciate her voice even more. She's killing it in that version
Nice one Julia - great analysis of what's probably my favorite Jinjer track. Not your subject, but another thing to note in this video is the editing: the use of slow-mo and (I think) post-production sweeps (like when Tati points across the stage and the camera 'swings' to look where she's pointing) are absolutely on-point. It raises a video that's basically 'just concert footage' to a whole new level.
That sound you were trying to place at the end was Eugene strumming chords using all strings on the bass guitar. Great reaction!
If you go to their Jinjer Metal Band channel, listen to the interviews, & their album recording blogs, it looks like they don't play together during the final recording sessions. They apparently go through multiple stages that become less collaborative as they progress. They must jam in the early stages to come up with the music, then Tatiana writes the lyrics, but the final recording sessions are solo, where each member of the band comes in to record on their own. Perhaps this explains the complexity of the music. They build it in layers.
This song is in another league . It’s my favorite by far
Glad you finally circled back to jinjer..they are so ridiculously good
So, Live... their inner ear is set to a concert hall/stage similar to the one they are playing in. This results in a very consistent repeat of a previous performance. I think Eugene stated they had like 20 different stage setups for sounds.
You're the shiz Julia! I love seeing people appreciate things that are so far out of their normal bounds.
Tatiana has the ability to express LOTS of emotion in her vocals with her stylistic changes (not just the growls). Love watching you react to Jinjer and can't wait to see what else you've come up with. 😁
re-watching in anticipation of seeing Jinjer in concert this Friday in Seattle!
YES. I'VE BEEN WANTING SOMEONE TO REACT TO TEACHER TEACHER FOR MONTHS!!!!!!
Yes, their writing is so underappreciated. IMO Jinjer are the Beatles of groovy Metalcore. What I like a lot is, that you genuinly seem to like it.
That alarm sound at the end is coming from the bass, he's hitting all the strings in down strokes with all his fingers to produce it. He does do it live except you don't hear it as clearly as in this music video.
Actually I tried raking all the strings like you've explained but get a huge wall of sound rather than the ring. I'm pretty sure it's the higher strings pulled and let slap on the fretboard. That would give you the ringing sustain.
@@alijafri2022 it's down strokes, you can see it in the video. I've also seen Jinjer play live, I got to be right in front of Eugene. Here's a video that actually shows him playing this song. He doesn't actually hit all the strings just two of the higher strings ua-cam.com/video/3vPA1jH2za4/v-deo.html
Full on super group.. each member has total mastery of their instruments. I dont remember anything so detailed or well put together since Tool or Metallica..
Yay! More Jinjer! Take a look at Who is gonna be the one (Live) and Judgement and Punishment One Take, both are epic!
It's Jinjers gotcha moment!💖💖💖
I meant to add this - here's your hiphop and other influences; a snip from Wiki: "The band has mentioned many of their influences for their music, including Guano Apes, Slayer, Death, Pantera, Anathema, Lamb of God, Gojira, and Twelve Foot Ninja. While explaining their influences, the band have noted other metal acts like Opeth, Karnivool and Textures, in addition to groups across the spectrum of R&B, soul, funk, jazz, reggae, and hip-hop acts such as Cypress Hill and House of Pain.
They have been commonly described as a progressive metalcore band with influences from many genres such as the previously mentioned R&B, soul, funk, jazz, reggae, groove metal and djent."
When rappers go metal, good things can happen too. Cypress Hill's "Skull & Bones" double album is a good example - try "(Rock) Superstar", great track.
I can't wait until October to see these guys (unless they postpone again). Julia as you listen more to them you'll see just how diverse this band is. I just really love them, their sound, Tatiana's vocals, everything is just so fresh sounding and awesome!
The sound you heard at the end was from the bassist. I think I saw a live version of this and he made that sound. When I first heard it I had to re play it a few times because it was such a unique sound coming from a bass. It's kind of like I never knew the beginning part of "For Whom The Bell Tolls" from Metallica was actually Cliff Burtin playing the bass, I always thought it was a regular guitar (I found out after I saw them live and I was blown away). Anyways, the band is amazing, Tatiana is amazing, and I can't wait to see them!
Hands down my favorite Jinjer song. Thanks for reviewing it!
Can I just say I LOVE your reacting format. The test-based analysis during the edit is great, and lets you comment without stopping all the time
That "warning" sound was the bass player raking his finger nails down the strings with a harmonic. That of with the strings muted with his left hand.
Great reaction, Jinjer always kills it! For that “siren” sound at the end is from the bass player Eugene, who is a monster bass player!
FINALLY you revisit Jinjer! I've been waiting for this and you did not disappoint! I really wish you would react to their newest song Home Back.
Jinjer - Who is Gonna be the One...would be a Great one to react to! 😁
Metal Goddess! Have loved them for years as all the musicians are so incredible!
Loved this Jinjer track, quite a trip through styles re: rap growl metal etc. And thanks Julia it was because of you I first heard this band and Tatiana who is amazing. Truly my friends were blown away by her voice.
PS. Feel free to head bang if necessary. I know you want to. Lol
