People love forming these small cliques where they colonize a small society that all act as a yes man to one or two people just to stage an attack on other groups with different opinions. Then they act like they're doing something great for all of humankind when at the end of the day, all of them are too lazy to get off their laptops to actually do anything about the problems they bring up. It's obnoxious, pretentious, and overall just really crazy that they spend half their lives doing this over and over again. I think it especially hits home to me because I recently checked back on an old discord friend group. They were pretty laid back when we first formed the server. I lost interest in the topic for a year or two until I started being attacked online by someone in the group. I came back just to find that everyone had somehow turned into a giant cult that all worshipped and always agreed with one person. Another time, I was a moderator for a server with our friends. I called out one member who was always breaking the rules and she had a complete meltdown and convinced half the server to leave and join her server because I was being mean for sending one line of text in the general chat telling her to stop. Basically "unfriending" me and taking everyone else with her just because I wasn't a yes man for her behaviour. Bottom line is that people are devolving as a species and it's sad to see.

This is probably one of the truest things Charlie has ever said. I've experienced this kind of toxic behaviour in so many fandoms. People love forming these small cliques where they colonize a small society that all act as a yes man to one or two people just to stage an attack on other groups with different opinions. Then they act like they're doing something great for all of humankind when at the end of the day, all of them are too lazy to get off their laptops to actually do anything about the problems they bring up. It's obnoxious, pretentious, and overall just really crazy that they spend half their lives doing this over and over again.
I think it especially hits home to me because I recently checked back on an old discord friend group. They were pretty laid back when we first formed the server. I lost interest in the topic for a year or two until I started being attacked online by someone in the group. I came back just to find that everyone had somehow turned into a giant cult that all worshipped and always agreed with one person.
Another time, I was a moderator for a server with our friends. I called out one member who was always breaking the rules and she had a complete meltdown and convinced half the server to leave and join her server because I was being mean for sending one line of text in the general chat telling her to stop. Basically "unfriending" me and taking everyone else with her just because I wasn't a yes man for her behaviour.
Bottom line is that people are devolving as a species and it's sad to see.
In fact it’s become a crime to be different. Opinions become dangerous, interests become gatekeeping, and the Internet is crucifying each other, with no repercussions.
Charlie is a different kind of beast. A man who exists between order and chaos, no good or bad, a man who only needs a mic to set the record straight, and give opinions without sugarcoating it.
