- The K5 GT get some big updates from Kia for 2025. On the outside you will discover new lighting, grill, front fascia, wheels and rear fascia. On the inside you will be greeted by (2) 12.3in screens and updated seats. Under the hood is a 2.5L turbocharged inline-4 mated to an 8-speed DCT. Is the 2025 Kia K5 GT a better sport sedan than a Lexus IS350?

I work at a Kia. In the setting you can change it so the cluster can change color and design (circles) . Sport is actually not the “sportiest” mode, if you customize my drive there is something called “Sport+”.

Here in Ohio they have the GT going for 33k GT-line 27k and several dealers have 10 or more on the lot.

Never skip a Raiti's Rides upload! Had a 22 K5 GT-Line, wanted to go GT this year but sold it for a 24 Elantra N DCT instead because of the reasons you talked about like lack of LSD and boring exhaust sound. So glad I went that route. Much more fun to drive !

There's no point in picking the Sonata N-Line over this anymore. It used to be that the Sonata was slightly cheaper and had a factory summer tire option but was missing tech features.
Now, the price gap between the two is much smaller, the Sonata lost its factory summer tire option, and there are FEWER tech features in it now. Meanwhile the K5 GT is updated and better than ever.

I think you forgot the $5K price difference in the K5 GT with the GT1 package compared to the Sonata N Line
the sonata has adjustable seat bolsters for the driver. weird that the k5 didn't include that.
KIA dealerships DO NOT want to sell these K5's....Yes you read this correctly...IF you don't believe me, go try and buy one and see how it goes.

Love that KIA has ventilated seats and rear seats vents as well as 360 camera and blind spot camera unlike Hyundai I wish Hyundai had those features on the n-line but they only have it on the limited

Unless I missed it somewhere, I don’t think Joe mentioned this GT has the GT1 package on it which is the luxury features of the EX trim on the GT engine.

Basically the best version of the car you can get.
I’ve had my Stinger for almost 6 years and had absolutely zero maintenance other than routine oil changes and whatnot and I drive it pretty hard.
Plus you get a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty for peace of mind with any Kia

@@naished i have a 2022 Kia telluride EX AWD, Nightfall edition, just passed 40,000 miles, zero issues, runs great, looks great and I know people have their issues with Kia in the past but I tell them “get over it and quit being so hard headed, they’re not what they once was”
I have a Chevy Silverado, brand new less that 18,000 miles, already had 5 issues… I’m going to trade it in for the new 2024 Kia Carnival EX. I love Kia
I used to be a master mechanic at Hyundai/Kia. Just hope you never need to use your warranty because they do anything and everything to get out of covering warranty claims.

I think I would still take a Lexus BUT Kia is definitely under rated. Ive noticed since the 20’s the higher ups at Kia are definitely investing their money in the right areas. I think the Kia GT really helped them out. Kinda like Porsche and the Cayenne.

a wolf grey gt with all wheel drive, heads up display, ambient lighting, red calipers and black and red interior would of made this car perfect
You can get that in the GT-Line, my 2022 is just like that! I love the 1.6T, sad that it’s gone for 2025…
@ATRichard no u can't gt line does not offer heads up display, ambient lighting or any calipers at all and that definitely was not on the 22
@@j317 I know, my car doesn’t have any of that extra that you said… All I’m saying is that you can get a ‘22 GT-Line with the red interior and AWD. And Kia offers a mood light accessory from the dealer, I added it to my K5. I worked in Kia product development and helped do research for this generation K5 and bring it to market.
@ATRichard but u said u could get all that on your gt lol basically saying u can get everything I listed is how I took it and mood light accessory isn't the same is having ambient lighting factory built into the dash and doors that's just better
Just bought one yesterday but my interior is black and grey instead. Got lucky since they had just got it into the lot the day before

Rati with the upload I’ve been looking for over youtube! I wish they didn’t add the bottom DRL line to the headlights because now you’re at risk for shattering your headlight for a small bump…but then again if they chopped that part off, it’ll look too close to a urus DRL light.

You can change the settings so that the dash color is linked to drive mode. So it’ll turn red when you go in sport

This looks like an amazing car. If you get the right exterior color, and modify the color of the plastic chrome part to a complementary color, this will become more eye-catching. Also, the price point is great for a luxury-level vehicle. If KIA had the reliability of Lexus, then more people would consider this car.
Please Research Toyota and Honda Recent Recalls are Seriously Not to be taken lightly. Toyota Tundra Engine Failures for 3 model years now including 2024 Dealership won't take them back for trade IN Tacoma Diff failure & Sequoia Engine & Transmission failure.Honda Pilot 2024 Engine Failures & Honda Civic Electric steering failure &Acura entry level car.Also Engine problems
Love the car, just wish they had an option for diff color calipers/stitching. Hard to do a lot with that big, bright neon.

sucks that the stinger was discontinued.. sad they didn't keep it! their best kept "secret" was the stinger! too bad they got rid of it... but honestly the K5 GT isn't too bad either! it's a very nice Sedan in it's class and especially for the price, just kind wish the GT Trim kept the TURBO and AWD! :) but having a hatch/fast back trunk is so practical that REAR end looks so much like a Volvo S60 ;) KIA loves to take volvo design into their tail lights! heck look at the upcoming EV KIA EV3 practically looks like a volvo EX30 but honestly the KIA looks better! and I'm a Volvo XC40 owner >< and Lexus RX500h owner.

I really love the new face of the Kia k5. It looks good and also, I love the fake vents. Without those fake vents, who wants to see just a boring piece of red sheet metal? That would rather look rather bland.
I've recently learned that you can change the appearance of the gauge cluster through the infotainment center. You have to go into the setting from the Radio, and from there, you'll be able to change it to the circular digital speedometers.
You can only do this on the EX & GT2 trims.

One thing that I thought was really cool about the K5 GT was how it offers the premium features from the EX trim as an optional package. You don’t get that with the sonata N-line. Unfortunately you still have to get a Kia so…

I'm with you on the "nuggs" comment. Social media has ruined us and made us lazy. With the demise of the Stinger, I'm disappointed that they didn't make an AWD version of the K5 like they originally promised. The prevailing opinion was that they didn't want it to compete with the Stinger GT Line, but now that it's gone there is no excuse. I've had my fill of higher power FWD cars, and even with an LSD, they're not for me. I'm still holding out and hope that they'll eventually release an AWD version of the K5 GT. Otherwise, it's off my list, and I'm relegated to a used Stinger.

Since Stinger is gone I would like to have AWD option in K5 turbo model. Makes big difference in Canadian winters and rainy days
I got the matte gray 2.5 liter the engine is really nice the power is right there when you need it. specially when I put it on sport plus mode and use the paddle shifter.
Is there ambient lighting in the inside?
Not a fan of the tail lights. Hate they got rid of the lip spoiler. Also i think you can purchase aluminum pedals as an add on. At least for the 2023 model you can.
This is a beaauutiful car! I love it and I love the IS350Fsport the only down fall is that the K5GT doesn't come AWD like the Is350.
BUT the K5 is roomier by a long shot!
K5 GT is BEAUTIFUL but I'm not getting one living in NY! The Stinger was perfect the way it was, but with a 2025 REDESIGN AH man that would've been TOP of it's class if not already!

1. memory seats weren't mentioned even though they're equipped.
2. Michelin tires prevents wheelslip by a lot
3. the markups are insane! $4-6k above msrp in my area.

Great review! I have a ‘22 K5 GT-Line AWD that I love - sad that the 1.6T engine is gone on lower trims for 2025.
And that long chrome strip that wraps around the car harkens back to the 2011 Kia Optima (K5) when it first came out and launched a new styling direction for Kia. Now almost all of Kia’s sedans since then, including the Stinger, use that chrome window styling cue in some way. Always loved that generation of Optima!
I just got a 2025 K5 in June mines is a lxs. You said about the K4 I seen another vlog say the K4 is replacing the K4. I think Korea a Forte is a K3.

Talk about inflation, back in 2021 GT = $30K + $4K for GT1, now its $33K + $4.4K for GT1 and not really much has changed aside from the facelift.

I've got a 2023 K5 GT and it is an amazing vehicle. From all the research I've done, the power, performance, and gas mileage you get for the cost can't be beat right now. Super easy and inexpensive to maintain. Comes with a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty. Also one of the best looking sedans on the road.

10 year/100,000 mile warranty is only for the powertrain I believe.

The shining chrome on the exterior you mentioned finish is visually appealing. However, it may be better suited for darker color options such as wolf gray, matte gray, or navy blue. In the kis k5 colorway, but still not bad on the red color, you review

In October of 2018 I bought an AWD Stinger GT for the same price (out the door) as this K5. My how times have changed.
This and the Mazda 3 Turbo are the best bang for the buck you can get on a lease right now that are available without additional jacked up premiums from dealers and or limited stock like an Elantra N or Corolla GR.

Boss awesome video, I have a 2025 M4 comp xdrive, it's nice. I think this car is awesome sure it's a 13.6 vs a 10.8 car but this thing is nearly identical, screens, seats, it's amazing love the k5, thanks for the video.
i luv my 2023 GT in Wolf Grey with a brown interior.. I too wish that Kia would stop using gloss black on the doors and center console.. Hopefully Kia will not electrify the 2026 model..

I really wirh the stinger could have made it to to the point of having the interior updated the way this did (Nice large digital display, updated HVAC controls, and blind spot camera display). Main reason I didn't get another stinger when I was looking for vehicles.

Hyundai has their Genesis line. Joe, it feels to me that the folks at Kia are going the Mazda route and instead of having a luxury brand, they are going a little more upscale, but balancing that with value.

I love DCT transmission its just the takeoff from a stop that you have to get used to unless you are in sport mode. I rented a premium from Enterprise once expecting to get something like a Maxima and ended up getting a 2022 Audi S4 Quattro needless to say I had fun. But I like the new design on the Kia K5 and Hyundai Sonata's, I wish Hyundai would have kept the Veloster around though.

I just raced a kia k5 gt today with my is 350, and i hate to say this, but the k5 got absolutely rekt! I beat it without even trying lol 😅
The K5 GT is quicker, especially on a roll, I have seem videos of it beating the IS350 pretty easily.
We only got the Sonata N line in Australia. We also don't get the IS350. If it has the slip-dif, I would definitely consider one.

Great review of the Kia K5 GT but according to the website and Kia’s unveil the Kia K5 GT is actually AWD not FWD. Only the K5 GT-Line comes in a FWD or AWD option not to get confused with GT.
Since they discontinued the Stinger they could have beefed up the horsepower more. I'll still keep my 2021 LXS for now.

Dash does change with the modes, just have to change it in the settings.
I hope the Blind Spot Monitoring is Standard for the GT model...cause they failed to put in the N-Line for the new Sonata smh
Joe The K5 GT and The Sonata N-Line has the same Engine and Transmission and both have LED Fog Lights and Panoramic SunRoof! and it is almost the same price!
