NASA would be Proud of that Concrete Landing Base for the Outdoor HVAC Equipment. 👍🙏
They look lawnmower safe to me.
No doubt!
I concur. lol
need more of these long videos they’re so good
Okay. 👌
First half of this video could have been shot with a phone in portrait mode, and still captured it all. Would have liked to see the brazing on the evap core connections under there.
Mikey pipe, you’re a good man you’re not afraid to show when something goes wrong. Anything can be fixed.
facts!
True mark of a real leader. Cuts on the hands with dirty figure nails.
THAT PAD I LOVE IT LOOKS LIKE 10000 LBS OF CONCRETE COULD HOLD THE WHOLE HOUSE LOVE IT LOVE ITLOVE IT
Very nice looking job Mike. I put one of those systems in last week. Very nice units.
Very cool
Great installations as always.
Great video. Enjoy seeing pros doing quality work.
Awesome Install !!!
Thanks!
Nice looking install & the Campbell Brothers are awesome as usual ... Take care of em ...Thx
Nicely done.
Thanks!
I have the one hose setup. Works fantastic!
One hose works great too!
Love that pad
Thanks!
@@PipeDoctor Left over cement from the florida sewer pipe?
Love Bosch!
That pipe straightener is cool I like it.
yeah, its pretty darn cool
You seem like a great guy to work for Mike, keep up the awesome work
Long time fan. Your attention to detail and always one up-ing your install from what was previously there is just 👌🏾 let those hacks keep bringing you stacks
We have that motto to try to do better than the last. I think we accomplished that
Damn Mikey that brazing was 🔥👏🏾
Their a beauty. Nice Work !
Thanks 👍
Mikey, you have a short memory. Don’t you remember when you were bragging on all those Navian water heaters until they come back to bite you. wait till the $2000 board toast and Bosch won’t stand behind it. Good luck. Nice workmanship good videos keep up the good work.
other inverter tech heatpumps have the same problem with expensive proprietary parts. hopefully the board isn't actually $2k.
All great Mikey until controls take a dump and good luck getting parts quickly 🙈
We’ve had a control board fail due to a surge, Bosch warrantied the part and we got it within days.
The truth is that Bosch should expect power surges and integrate a good surge protection circuit into their product. Of course, that would increase the price of the product and affect profitability.
Where I live, we have so many power surges that I finally installed a whole house surge protector. Before I had the protector, we had a surge that destroyed the blower motor in my furnace. It also destroyed the compressor in my neighbor’s brand new Carrier condensing unit.
@@picklerix6162 most places don't have that problem. a whole house surge protector in problematic areas makes more sense than surge protection in every appliance.
Mike your brazing is pretty decent brother good job
Purge send the rest of the refrigerant from the pump and you can send it into your recovery tank. Valve off your schrader removal tool and then put it in purge. Then close your tank when it’s done purging 🫡
By the way great job 😊😊
Looks like you have some covergrip drop cloths. they work well to help prevent becoming unalive due to drop cloth slippage.
I use AC service tech calculator which takes in the suction and liquid line for adding refrigerant. It works awesome.
Good to know!
Use 8% stay Brite it's good with r410a no purging no flaking
We used to use that.
I believe that StayBrite 8 has 6% silver content so I’m not sure what the 8 signifies. It’s great to use for new installations. I used it when I installed my own equipment three years ago and I have had no leaks.
when they said too close to the window, they meant "in line" with it. but moving it far enough to the right for a clear view would have out it against the other old system.
I was here for the 50k when we were all over that N BRAND! Congratulations brother!
The good old days.
Top o the morning Mikey
Hi 👋
Bosch trifectta soon🇺🇸🤑
2 out of 5
✅
I have a BluVac digital gauge also I use a five eights hose and half inch hose. I pull 1000 µm unless in a minute it’s awesome.
It’s really great
I guess when they designed it they sucked the copper pipes flat, then backed it off a hair.

@Mikey Pipes - Pipe Doctor Plumbing & Heating & Air
Hey Mikey, know been awhile, been dealing with health issues but finally getting better, hooray!
Anyway, so glad finally came to Florida and setup shop, we need more HVAC guys that do great work and know what doing.
Also, just learned where you decided to open a shop, different from when we DM’d last year as took time off from UA-cam watching and editing, making vids.
Chose great place, as central Florida during hurricane season isn’t too bad, yes Floridians, I know….smh
Can’t believe you are 30 MINS AWAY FROM MY SISTER’S house in Lake Mary. If only you covered this service area as well. Maybe in time, as know a on of ppl that are unhappy with the main company that serves this area…
Hope to see ya around Florida!
Cheers✌🏻
yes, we cover basically from Clermont to Daytona up and down I-4
Happy to hear you are feeling better.
What techniques are you using for marketing and making your phone ring?
Propress mikey
And staybrite 8
Im surprised u aint pressin
U got me guessing
Awesome as usual Mikey fuckn pipes !! The Bosch trifecta is coming soon!!!! Ps Ladder safety , 4/1….every 4’ up 1’ out..OSHA would be proud lol(but seriously , have seen tooo many fall with an extended foot print of ladder as how yours is set, just saying cause I fuggn love ya guys. Yea I’m a day one (less than 500 subs) I’ve been watching my guy Mikey Pipes !!
62 µm that’s awesome. I usually get mine under 100 and do the DK test.
Not bad
use conduit benders to bend the copper and just use the electrical conduit bending charts. 😁
Do you have any videos talking about that Shoebee floor covering? do you buy a new roll for each job or re-use it? now how does it stick to carpet vs hardwood?
Hey mike, great video as usual. If the house has a whole house fault system do you still use the icm units?
No
Wonder how long those control boards will stay good, seems like than are only so weather tight
the warranty is confusing. 10 years. but one year for parts bought from bosch??? Guess I need a full copy of the small print.
At least the board is where you can get at it. That means you can study it. My Bosch dishwasher wasn't as easy to probe for it's arduino replacement board if ever needed.
Looks great but the line set insulation needs to be thicker and covered in UV paint.
Just looking at the systems, figured you would be the one to answer since salesman have ulterior motives..
Does it require you to have internet access for that app, and the machine operation in general? I don't put my homes on the internet for any reason.
In Louisiana 410a is still pink
You need to try yellow jacket benders the new ones the best
What’s wrong with my old ones?
Yea and have you tried the NAVAC one??? Not too bad , Hillmore good too
Used a brazing rod this time instead of Stay Brite. Have you lost confidence in stay Brite? Does Bosch have higher opperating pressures? Nice pipe bending! Another great professional installation!
No, I just wanted to show off my brazing skills
Attaboy Mikey. Looks great. Nice to see other quality conscience tradesmen in hvac. What does a job like that go for in NY?
thanks! love the feedback from the community
213 micron, that Goodman still looks new. Nice job
close, but others closer
@@PipeDoctor ya should have waited was thinking you used manifold
That Goodman did look quite new.
It is the Disconnect manufacture instruction you have to follow no the surge protectors. Those terminals are not design to have two wires in them
That’s why you technically have to pigtail
@@zacharypalczynski8450 yes, exactly
I have a question my small bungalow home has the bosch bova 36, and paired with the goodman variable speed furnace, the outdoor unit was with in 15 feet of the acoil so we just used the factory precharge, as far as a heat pump goes it works pretty good, but when i used the air, my duct work in the basement was sweating bigtime, the duct work is old and im sure central air wasn’t available like it is now a days, is it possible the duct work needs to be bigger? I was under the impression that the bosch bova “brain” would compensate pressure and air flow rate, so we basically use window air, which the electric bill hasnt been to bad, but there doesnt seem to be and bosch techs local in my area of Ohio, doesnt seem to be a popular choice around here, btw nice informative vids you share thank you!
Hey Mikey Peter was using the RLS pro press and fitting . In the attic . How do you like using them
Love ❤️
I mentioned this in the video from yesterday but it looks like the condenser covers are all the same size, could you have swapped them to have bosch logo facing the front? Great job on the install im sure the customer loves it.
No I didn’t
I didn’t know that the Bosch system now has a communicating stat. Is it similar to the Trane and Lennox?
Beautiful job Mikey ! Since this is a heat pump why isn’t the liquid line also insulated? Does Bosch not ask for that?
not needed
I’ll take the Vevor I’m paid by the hour 😂
lol
Doing a triple changeout next week, but dang it, none of my supply house's carry that equipment pad...
both lowes and HD carry it here. Even have contractor prices.
Just watched a pour fid, well puling from shelf, putting in truck, unloading truck, piling bags here. I moved 4000 lbs by hand today........
Why not weigh the charge in the vacuum. Nice job though looks great.
I have wet rag to although i ran outta acytelene to i have to get another cylinder but the oxygene is okay !!
Hi, Mikey Pipes! I’m being honest with you. I’m not a huge fan on bosh brand of air conditioners.”
I did some research on Bosch I looked up online. They’’re a German band from Germany, I don’t like central air conditioning systems made outside the USA!! I prefer Goodman!! Because they’re made in Houston, texas!!
Thank god I got 2 brand new Goodman central air conditioners I got installed back in April.
Made in the USA is the way to go!! USA! USA!! USA!! USA!!! USA all the way!!! God bless American!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Vee will sell you a bosch and you vill like it!! I'm never giving up either of my VW bugs until american cars come without dash's, and junk that doesn't work. I can get in my beetle on the hottest day of the summer, and it is cool inside because there is no dashboard cooking the car from the inside. Plus the cardboard insulation on the doors. Ask any bum, paper is good insulation.
Goodman is selling inverter systems but I haven’t seen any in the field yet. I took the Goodman factory tour and the tour guide said those inverter systems have a 12 year warranty so they stand behind their product. I have no idea how much they cost. The Bosch systems are priced competitively but will the equipment hold up?
When do you braze vs press tool?
obvious you braze when the roof is 28" above you. I wanted to see that.
Braze didn’t pull far enough into that suction line.
16:38 why wouldn't you run the whip behind the lineset, so they're not crossed up multiple times?
and umm, jug of R22 for a R410a system at 25:25. oh lawdy
I’m going to say 425 microns . I have gotten to 325 microns with fieldpiece .
I’m guesstimate 273 micron
I want videos explaining how to convert a split system from 22 to 410. Thank you
Coming soon!
Thank you, professor, I am happy for that 🙏
don't cant, they're too different and it wouldn't work properly.. there are r22 replacements though that will work okay.
I just got a Bosch IDS, noticed that there’s no filter drier. Are they required for the Bosch?
yes, a filter dryer comes with the unit.
Why not add refrigerant before dumping the charge?
You might go over. They have extra in the compressor for some line. and there is always the monday morning filler with a hangover.
It could be done, but by the time you did all the calculations, the unit is on and telling you how much more. Don't forget how slow the recovery pump is when you go over. 🙄
Where did you get that at 3/8 what's the name of that tool Manufacturing
I don’t know
1
Mike you would buzz through large centrifugal chillers. 200+ tons. Very nice install, good work.
What's wrong with the existing 410a Goodman? It looks brand new
shit and loud
469 thumbs up
Would you take $150 for that recovery machine? I would like it. I’m never in a hurry. 🤑
Why don't you use Stay Brite for brazing??
Stay Brite isn't brazing. It's soldering
But it still works well
@@daddygc5814 I can't confirm I've always braze. BRAZING ONLY!! 🤣🤣
2150 sq ft house with a current 3.5 AC that runs 6-10 mins max then shuts off (1 stage). Multiple local companies say replace with 4 ton variable but one say 3 ton variable. Looking at a Bosch 20 seer Heat Pump with 96 backup furance…the one 3 ton company ran a manual s but entire house says 26,500 btus for cooling…would a 3 ton running closer 100% at peak or a 4 ton running closer to 70% be better based on your experience?
Why run a manual j at all if your just going to oversize it anyway and ignore the numbers?
@@mitchdenner9743 valid point sorry it was a manual S, but the info on house said 26k btus. The other companies just based on sq ft and said the 4 ton would rev down 🤷♂️
@@scotth5978 what does your gut tell you to go with bigger isn’t better think comfort and total square footage man J and Mann S
If you’re going with a true variable system, then you can oversize. With an engineering letter you can get this through permitting.
@buddylee2733 why waste the money?
5:21 was that refrigerant?
7/8 inch Vapor line with a 3-ton Bosch ? I have asked that question to tech support and they said NO
You can ask 10 people the same question and you'll get 10 different answers.
Absolutely nothing wrong or harmful to effect performance or reliability with using a 7/8" lineset on a 3 ton unit.
The bosch isn't even a bad price. The board price had me thinking much worse.
How long you been brazing for? That shit is way too hot.
obviously not long enough
That’s a huge pad…
150 microns I'm guessing you got it down to..
Slightly grossly 😂 which one is it Mikey?
❤ sweet installation looks?? Sexy😊 But a point of order 😝 while the vector is 🐌 if someone 5 fingers it out of the van? Doesn’t hurt so bad as a Robinair or a Appion
NOT TOO CLOSE TO THE WINDOW, Blocking the view from the window from the inside.
They had the original ones spaced so it was not blocking the window.
Whatever you say
Not blocking the view, blocking the sunlight so you don't need to cool as much.
Maybe they WANT to view those Bosch's.....
Is it on mom [tugging on apron], I want to see........
What gives Bosch says Stay brite 8😂
Vevor is not professional that’s for sure…..lol
Mikey Heat pumps are not good for the northern states .
Lennox is selling them like hotcakes ,we being subcontractors working for a company in Illinois.
We just don't want to install them.
I my self know how and to wire the low voltage for them.
I just can't justify selling these to the customer when we have Natural gas fired furnaces up north .
you are clearly clueless with the Bosch systems and heat pumps for that as well. Please get educated and learn. thank me later
