hey :) your video helped me, but... i wasnt happy about the result at all. (maybe something on instagram changes since your video)
my case: 15 sec story with music sticker, a background video and graphics on top of the video with alot of transparent parts.
i did alot of testing. i uploaded at least 50 stories with different preference. i tried sizes up to "1080p" and bitrates between 5 and 40 with and without CBR.
i want to share my result with you:
resolution: 720 x 1280 px
bitrate: CBR 15
audio: disabled
rendered videos: 25 - 27 mb
uploaded videos: 500 kb - 3,83 mb
This worked really well for me. Appreciate your updated settings!

Preset didnt work for me and im not sure what else to do. My mp4's wont go onto my photos app on my iphone and I dont know why.

btw Facebook Ads doesn't allow for IG videos less than 500px. Any suggestions besides going for 1080x1920? Great vid! :)

I just did a 1080 version as well as a 480. uploaded both, and the 1080 clip looks way better. Am i missing something???
Instagram probably changed that. Mine videos also look much better when exported as FHD than 480.
no you're not maybe the settings worked back than, but now 1080 with high bitrate looks way better

Hey, tried this setting for a story with GFX, there is a drastic difference in quality from what I uploaded as my own test at 1080x1920, 25fps, vbr2 20mbit, with the settings you suggested being of significant lower quality. So not sure if this applies to everyone?
The guy in this video is wrong. He sets the resolution way too low. In fact, Instagram itself recommends stories to have a resolution 1080x1920 (vertical). So yeah, uploading at 1080x1920 is better.
Matt I'm sorry but for once you are wrong in a video. This is not the IG stories size, as when I try to promote a story it says that the resolution is too low. it's probably 720x1080 or 1080x1920
Hey... Were you able to verify the resolution? This size shown in this video seems too small in these days of high speed 4g/5g or Home Wifi ...

THANK YOU! This tutorial helped me! Weird story, instagram allows now 16:9 format video! I started editing my video on this format (16:9). After exporting, my Iphone doesn't allowed to save this video on the camera in this format!! I use your format 480x852 and now, my mobile allows to save on the camera roll instead of the files folder... I don't know what exactly happens here...

Doesn’t the paid Ad platform for Facebook call for a higher bitrate ? As long as its under 30mb...
I tried these export setting for a story on IG and the quality was awful :( The second time I exported at 1080x1920 resolution and a continuos bitrate of 40mbps.... quality was 1000 times better. Am I doing something wrong? The resolution of the sequence wasn't 480x852 but that doesn't matter if I export at that resolution, right?

@@TheTerminator619sd I would also export at 40mbps continous. Format depends on your linking for standard 16:9 I would use 1080x608, for a square format I would use 1080x1080 and if you wanna use almost full screen of the phone is is 1080x1350.

Yes they do! I've been using higher resolution with no issues as well.
Didn't work for me. Exporting to usual 1080x1920 at 8Mbps resulted in more detailed and sharper image. I tested both versions in IG story of course...
I stop right at 25 seconds and downloaded the presets lol .. I will still like don't worry haha
Also... if you do it this way the video resolution would be “too low” to promote as a AD. Just FYI. That’s the only downfall about doing it this way.
