  • In this tabletop terrain crafting video, I'll be making a mineshaft entrance out of XPS foam. Whether it's for D&D, Warhammer, or more, this terrain piece is a great centrepiece for a tabletop.

    Looks great! I think for the roof it might help a bit in building if there's a small horizontal groove or beam for a bit of support on the bottom. Overall it's a great idea that works without needing a huge rock piece to attach to the terrain.

      More support is always a good thing! Thanks for watching 🙌

    Enjoyed the mine entrance video. It had a lot of good information I can also use on some of my other terrain plans.

    Just found your channel and I really like the inspiration I get from watching. I've always done more modular builds, for reusability thought. I'd be interested to know how you use your builds in game though. I'm still fairly new to TTRPG's like DnD and I'm curious how people actualy use this terrain in game. What does it add to your game? What do you chose to build and what do you choose not to build?

      Glad to hear that! When it comes to RPGs, I use the terrain more thematically to sets the stage for the environment. For wargames like Warhammer, the terrain pieces have functionality and provide benefits (or detriments if dangerous terrain) to the surrounding models. This would be a fun topic to cover in a video one day.

    Hey, nice build. What is the foliage that you use at the end on the roof? It is looing very good.

    • @OkayHobbyTime
      @OkayHobbyTime  Рік тому

      It's called Woodland Scenics Light Foliage and can be found in hobby stores. Great product and fun to use.

    Love you videos, Very inspirational!
    I'm pondering buying a proxxon myself.
    Do use a mask or some sort of air ventilation when you use it?
    I've cut some xps foam before and the smell is quite bad and most probably toxic.
    Do you got any tips or ideas regarding that issue?
    Thanks and keep up the terrific videos!

    • @OkayHobbyTime
      @OkayHobbyTime  Рік тому +1

      I love my Proxxon. It's unlocked so much for me within this hobby. If I'm cutting for long, then I wear a 3M respirator. I also open the large window in my hobby space if some extra airflow is needed.

    Hey, loved the build! One question, don't you get some warping with that mdf base?

    • @OkayHobbyTime
      @OkayHobbyTime  Рік тому

      No major warping. Maybe a millimetre or so, but nothing noticeable. The trick is to not oversaturate the MDF with glue, paint, etc.

    It would be great and informational to hear how you designed and built your workspace with drawers. Is it made of stock pieces?

    • @OkayHobbyTime
      @OkayHobbyTime  11 місяців тому

      Hi there! It's from a company called hobbyzone.pl. It comes flat packed and requires assembly. Maybe if I get some new additions to the setup I could feature them in a future video.

    wood glue takes too long to dry. Use low temp hot glue.

    • @OkayHobbyTime
      @OkayHobbyTime  Рік тому

      It's just a personal preference of mine. I don't mind the slower dry time to allow for more workability.
