Some really good feedback in todays video, appreciate you guys dropping your comments! 1) I can see why selling on discord isnt fair so starting Episode 3, I will not put my PCs on the For Sale Section. (Episode 2 is already filmed unfortunately) 2) I have changed my name and profile pic on Facebook so people dont recognize me anymore, not that this made a different in the transactions in the first place. If you guys have any other suggestions please leave them down below!
Hey, I would recommend trying out some budget builds for your flipping series. When I clicked on this video I was expecting a starting budget of $300-500 and 3600/2060 etc builds with some used parts. Personally I don’t think starting $1170 in the hole was a great idea, it worked out great this time with awesome profits but I would have loved to see some cheaper builds that balanced performance and aesthetics for the price featuring a used CPU and GPU, and trying out some tried and true budget cases and coolers. That’s what starting out flipping PCs is really like imo, if you’re starting with a low amount of money and slowly building that up with good price management strategies. Personally, for my first flip (over a year ago now) I started with $110 and built an i5 4570/RX 570 flip. after a lot of effort I’ve worked my way up to planning out mid-high end AM5 flips with the funds I have. Sorry for the text wall, but I feel like that’s something you should try out in a future episode if this is becoming a series (which I would love to see)
Yeah the lowballing to start off is an interesting choice, $200 less on a week old listing is not a great place to start and would normally result in a block, if the seller didn’t need to sell ASAP and didn’t recognize Ed then it might have gone differently. I don’t think the lowballing is something that should continue on the channel
The whole point is to sell it realistically in the end… was really curious to see how long it would take for you to sell it on marketplace. Not realistic at all selling it on your discord.
To a point I agree, but the discord is a community of PC users. It's the literal place to sell PC parts... You don't go to Burger King to buy a car tire.
I feel like it's a cool series although he shouldn't sell the pcs on discord or ebay using his actual name. Could he make an alias for himself so that people buy the pc for what it is and not the person selling it? I hope I get my point accross but it's looking like a good series so far
Selling it on Discord is just another marketplace for people wanting to buy PCs. I will however change my name on Facebook to something else so people don’t recognize me. I already have an alias on offer up. Thanks for the input tho ❤
@@TechSource on your own discord I would say its still really biased and the buys really get influenced by you being the one who sells it. I think you should even if continuing it at all do it like LTT even though I gotta say its from the beginning the same base concept which isn't smth bad though
@@TechSource Yeah, Just making sure that the people buying the Pc aren't doing so because a big youtuber is selling it therefore paying extra because its yours. It would be rare to see someone selling that Pc for $1700 used when it's worth $1900 brand new. I would like to see the series be as realistic as possible of course so that's why i'm trying to give feedback. (no hate on the comments though I love the channel)
@@TechSource if they know it’s you selling it people know they’re getting a good working system rather than a neutral marketplace though. It was a very nice PC Build but most likely would’ve sold for $1500 for an average person
Please continue with this series!!!!! I absolutely love it and the fact that it is going to your daughter is so wholesome and makes it even more meaningful
definitely make this a series. and perhaps try to list the pcs on discord and facebook using a different user so that people wouldn't recognize you as easily and thus make the series more interesting!
Seeing you making a new series is nice and All this for paying off your daughters school is nice please keep making this series you can experiment with new case colors and Aio’s etc
Agreed, only redeeming part is that it’s going to such a responsible cause. Can’t blame a fella for wanting to better his daughter’s life. That said, relying on his reputation seems almost cheating. Defeats the purpose of the “series” if it does happen.
Really liked this video and I think you should consider it. Saving the money for tuition is really nice of you. I have always hesitated on buying a PC from Facebook marketplace, it would be awesome if you could also let the viewers know how to avoid certain scams and sketchy listings with this series. Overall, a very amazing video!
Very very cool video, it shows how much the production quality of a bigger UA-camr makes a difference. You’re a great videomaker Ed! I’d say definitely try to sell the next one online on the “public” space, like eBay. Then yes going anonymous would also be really cool :)
I love this as a series. I was actually thinking of ways to make money so I can build myself a pc and if this becomes a series, you I can learn from you on how I can flip pcs myself! Thanks!
Ordered myself a prebuild cause I haven't been into PC's for a very long time. Kinda stoked to see the difference between console and pc after nearly 20 years.
that first one was a criminally good deal. Id be surprised if that wasnt a setup for the video. No shot he just right away accepts half of what the parts are worth
hey man, really hope you make this a series. i personally just started with this and i hope to maybe get some experience from your vids too. love the content! keep it up!
Yes, A series would be cool can learn a lot about negotiation and tech too help others flip there systems on different platforms or accessories and troubleshooting when things go wrong! Thanks for this video love all your posts very helpful!!
Cool concept and all, and I actually run the same type of flip content on my channel. However, in my experience it's VERY hard to sell a PC on the raw/used market for over $1000. People who have that kind of available cash likely won't buy used / unknown and or be unwilling to put up that kind of cash in general. You have a massive advantage of having a massive following and people knowing who you are and can trust what you are putting out there. That's great for making some flip cash but unrealistic for small timers like me or anybody else willing to try their hand at flipping too. Great content as usual but not at all a realistic expectation for 99.99% of the rest of us.
Gotta agree since i wanna try do pc flipping or just flipping individual components but for high end systems you gotta be a established brand before you can sell high end pcs so the most i can do are budget lower end pc for 500-1000
YOU SHOULD SET UP A SMALL PC IN THE BAK OF THE TESLA , BIG ASS ROLLING BATTERY GOOD FOR SOMETHING, HOOK UP USED PARTS JUST TO TRY IT AND MAKE SURE U DONT GET SCAMMED RIGHT THERE AND THEN
Good to see someone out in the streets buying parts. I do the same and it makes for some fun adventures! Too many kids buy with a click of the mouse 😅😅😅.
push that 240 up to the top.. gauranty the air bubble not at the pump.. I recognized the pickup location.. I lived a few blocks west on Nordhoff from Reseda blvd in the late 50's
I really liked the video. I think the only thing that I would have enjoyed to see is you cleaning it up and putting a “pro touch” on it. That fan config was stressing me out, would have loved to see a few extra minutes of you making that better.

I know you don’t really like used PC Parts, but that’s where the money is for pc flipping (I’ve been flipping PCs for around 7 years)
benchmark Fortnite, those are the kinds of people that buy these kinds of pcs and stuff

Should I make this into a new series? Yay or Nay?
