Makoto Misumi was just an average teenager who suddenly was summoned to another world as a "hero." But the goddess of this world called him ugly and took his hero status away from him, then sent him to the ends of the world. He meets dragons, spiders, orcs, dwarves, and many other non-human races in the wastelands. Makoto manages to show promise in the use of magic and fighting, which he wouldn't have been able to do in his former world. He has numerous encounters, but will he be able to survive this new world? A fantasy where a guy who gods and humanity had abandoned tries to reset his life in this new world is about to begin!

The line "Frustration should be experienced sooner rather than later" is actually a good policy. There's always "The Wall", where talent fails and genuine effort is needed to progress. A person with no talent has hit The Wall early and learned to overcome it, so they're used to it. A talented person, meanwhile, hits The Wall later in life and struggles with it because they never had to deal with it until now. The sooner you hit The Wall, the sooner you get used to climbing over it or breaking through it.
There's a similar saying I love. "fail now so you won't fail when it matters". It's a great mindset to have when you're not afraid to struggle and fail. The only true failure is when you don't get back up.
No it's not, it's isekai bs. these scenes are about the self-insert hero lording it over the NPCs, not actually utilizing it as a teachable moment.
If the focus was on teaching tere'd be equal emphasis on keeping up motivation and encouraging the correct method.

Yep. Happened to me, and countless other people called gifted kids in school. Never had to try to get good grades in elementary and middle school, but when I got to high school, simply being "gifted" wasn't enough. Having good discipline and study skills got you farther than any ability could.

It was the educational 16 mm films that the passive teachers used when I was a child. Zoom can be a useful teaching tool but it was simply a tool that teachers had not figured out how to use. Ironically, in the mid-nineties, I was asked by the Computer Science chair about whether or not we could study how to use computers in education, I replied that there's probably a lot that could be done but the secret would be to create tools that are simple enough for the teachers to develop the curriculum needed and I didn't see that as an easy task as the teachers would vary widely in computer literacy plus all the tools that existed at the time was based on markedly inferior technologies so even a survey of current industry practices would not give us much in the research. Still, the department chair thought it would be worth a few low probability grant proposals even though what we lacked was enticing a researcher and grad students to the numerous grant concepts we were already postulating.
I like how as Makoto’s correcting flaws, he’s also acknowledging their decent tactics and pointing out how they can make those tactics even better to make up for the strength gap.

@@shaderunner7.0 In the LN, he wonders if her weapon handling is slightly sub-par because she splits between two weapons, rather than specialising in one, but he was definitely being stricter on her bow handling.

I really like the attention to detail in the characters, like how Makoto is tougher on Yuno for using a bow, because that's what he's mastered and is proud of.

Often referred to as voiceless incantations with these stories. They usually nerf it by saying it's not as efficient in mana use though it allows quicker casting and simultaneous casting as well as breaking limits and constraints.

@@johnwang9914 what i love about the tsukimichi world (just to put name on it) is that there is not really any disavantage except not receiving the goddess blessing (double the spell effect if you flatter her enough through an unending incantation) which is also optional so basically is just harder to the point where only one of the students really gets the hang of it

It’s because that’s how the “goddess” told them to fight, Makoto teaches them to fight much better later on, but this season probably won’t cover it.

We most likely won't get complete OST until season 2 finishes airing, since there are often new pieces in subsequent eps. We might get some after first half, though.

he's a demigod. those students combined effort would MAYBE tickle him a bit. but considering that his outfit was on defense and it was made by an elder dwarf I would say highly unlikely...

I suggest you look at the Greatbow & Greatarrows from the Dark Souls trilogy. Each "arrow" is literally the size of a large spear. Radahn's Bow & Greatarrows in Elden Ring are pretty much the same.

Makoto is one of the rare characters who actually know what they're doing. He's a lot like Cid from Shadow in Eminence who has actual experience. Back on Earth Makoto often got sick and was weak because of the world's pressure on him. His body didn't acclimate to the world correctly like his parents and sisters did. Of course this is partially because of his already innate strong magic, it was like a poison. So after consulting experts, such as psychic mediums and other priests who actually did know of the existence of magic it was decided that he would 'get his body moving.'. So he was put under a training regimen such as normal exercises but also martial arts and general combat. Of course, because of his physique he was still bad at it so it was tough for him to keep up with it. This is partially why he took up archery. But when he was brought to this world, as the moon god said the pressure that was being placed on him was lifted. Think of it like taking training weights off. So believe me when I say that Makoto definitely knows his stuff when it comes to combat.
at the begining Makoto had no combat experience he just had martial arts technics (his fights prove it, the bow being an exeption) as for his magic power his wind element was sealed otherwise he would have died trained or not

The reason isekai usually suck is because the genre is filled with soulless uninspired works written to capitalize on the hype. Of course for isekai to have become so popular in the first place means there are also some diamonds out there buried amongst the garbage.

Because it doesn't pretends to be something that it isn't.
The story isn't convoluted, the dialogues aren't pseudo philosophical and the characters overly emotional or utterly stupid. It's just a nice fantasy with cool fights in it. Simplicity is always pleasant to watch.

I haven't seen the anime yet but can someone tell me why he talks with magic text?
The Goddess that summoned him thought he was too ugly, so she dumped him in the wasteland to die. She “Blessed” him to only understand and speak beast speech.
The Goddess who summoned Makoto didn't like his face, so she told him to get lost into the wilderness and not bother her hyumans.
The Goddess gave Makoto the ability to speak all languages other than hyuman common as her only parting gift before discarding him.
Makoto later learned to write but not speak common, so Makoto uses the equivalent of a Minor Image illusory cantrip to speak. 💬
Possible Spoilers
The reason why he can't speak Hyuman is because when he was brought to this world the goddess granted him the ability to SPEAK every language EXCEPT hyuman. But she never said anything about learning the language. But when he did learn the language he was still unable to speak to hyumans. it's somewhat of a magic restriction placed on him by the goddess. But since he was still able to learn the language and it's grammar he settled on just using word magic to communicate with Hyumans.

he was cursed by the goddess so he cannot speak "common" tongue which is the language that Hyumans speak, so the text bubble is a work around

I think it was mentioned in the beginning of the 1st season when he was abandoned by the goddess that he was granted the ability to speak all the languages EXCEPT for Hyumans. But she never said anything about learning the language, but when he did he still couldn't speak to Hyumans so he settled on using Text speech.

because the goddess didnt give him the ability to comunicate with other hyumans, as she did with the heroes. she did give him the ability to comunicate with beasts and beastkin.

this does make season two look cool as heck but honeslty its slow as hell hardly any fighting lacks the comedy from the first one
