Makoto Misumi was just an average teenager who suddenly was summoned to another world as a "hero." But the goddess of this world called him ugly and took his hero status away from him, then sent him to the ends of the world. He meets dragons, spiders, orcs, dwarves, and many other non-human races in the wastelands. Makoto manages to show promise in the use of magic and fighting, which he wouldn't have been able to do in his former world. He has numerous encounters, but will he be able to survive this new world? A fantasy where a guy who gods and humanity had abandoned tries to reset his life in this new world is about to begin!

When she saw him fight that Dragon Slayer girl (I can't remember her name, but she was the one who caused him to form that lake in the crater after trying to drop him from orbit; the one who formed a contract with that other dragon, like Tomoe, and became a general in the demons' armies?) again, and she saw him actually beat her pretty casually, "Karen" here became utterly terrified of him.

It's heavily hinted at later on that he's there as the eventual replacement for the Goddess because the Earth deities, especially Athena (who had her appearance stolen by her) and the Japanese deities, are getting sick of her tihS.
Her also snagging the other two heroes after rejecting the MC also broke the agreement they had with her, so she's basically signed her own D warrant.

Makoto later manages to CREATE a new thing in that world. It's not like just magic where you summon fire or something, he actually forced his mind over the world itself to create an item. This item were the silver hands, capable of destroying magic and other things between them, and even rip through space itself.
Also he does later resume his archery training to increase his Mana Capacity
He knew she was not real Karen because she did not act like one. The real Karen was killed for being a real Karen

Sofia didnt told rona all the details because she wants to hunt Makoto by herself, without interference. Rona didnt knew what he looked like and his intentions, only that he was a merchant called Kuzunoha and communicated via magical writing. So, she knew about him but not much.

The goddess gave him an incomplete form of what they briefly call "wisdom", which is simply the ability to understand all communication and be understood by all beings. In Makoto's case, she just blocked Common. Anyone who knows another language will be able to understand him, as shown by the scholarly mage kid, but those who only know Common can't. On the flipside, Makoto can even understand things that aren't recognized as languages: spell incantations are actually gibberish to everyone else, but he hears them as what they mean instead.
This series would be cool if the MC wasn’t a perpetual pansy, who gets stepped on in every conversation he has

She literally just got a beat down from him where he didn't even move, can see through her disguise skill and isn't even phased by her threat. After all of that she still chooses to be hostile, talk about no sense of preservation.
To be fait, it's like looking at a 3 foot tall person with zero muscles as a professional MMA fighter, but that short person is a thousand times stronger than you for reasons
He's going to continue being underestimated unless he takes his rings off. It's just impossible to guess how strong he is with them on.

In this case, there are two types of people who are smart enough to discover her true identity. Those with the power to defend themselves and those who can't. Since most people judge by size alone, this mistake will happen.
you realise that she was holding back (would stand out if she used her real power), but even if she wasn't she still wouldn't beat Makoto, she would probably last long enough to do some damage to the surroundings tho.

Spoilers:
The best part that might be shown in upcoming episodes, is that Rona believes that Shiki (aka Larva, his previous name) is manipulating Makoto, alongside the forest ogres. Because if you guys remember in season 1, Adono (one of the ogres) had a connection with the demons and Shiki was possessing mondo (aqua and eris master) and killed Adono, because he knew of his connection with Rona.
Shiki and Rona go way back, they used to trade information but she always left him in trouble. It was a acquaintances/enemies relationship back and forth, that’s why Shiki knew her name, who she was and the interesting dynamic they had in the episode. She even warns Makoto about Larva and the ogres, that they can betray him at any moment and that Larva is possessing the body of the man called “Shiki” and using Makoto for his own reasons and benefits.
Which is funny, because she doesn’t know that the lich called Larva actually formed a contract with Makoto, it’s his servant and is now called Shiki

I can tell by her personality that works as a spy but she doesn’t work clean and efficient more like reckless and efficient using every means to get what she wants regardless of anything 😑

Yeah, another thing they cut out from the anime is the explanation for this. Basically, Karen’s “allies” had enough of her and killed but Rona took her place.
