i like that your intros aren't 5 minutes long. some people's intros are usually half the video. you get straight to the point and don't ramble on about every little thing. it makes you not just bearable, but enjoyable to watch.
You are awesome, as usual. Please do a video on keeping/growing/maintaining kitchen grown herbs. For a couple of years I've been scoping out yours in those white porcelain bowls. My thyme & flat leaf parsley keeps dying. Help me Sarah, please.
T. D My family and I hate curly parsley and love flat leaf, and someone had given us a curly parsley plant and my dad was like, "Ugh well it'll die like any other plant in this house," (cause we're all terrible at taking care of plants) and that thing lived for two months! I swear no one ever even watered it. Meanwhile we do everything possible to keep the flat leaf parsley alive, and it wilts and dies in like a week. So frustrating!
I have to tell you...you are such an encourager 😊 I am so thankful for your blog and the fact that I get notified when you have a new blog , (otherwise I would miss most of the stuff). Every time I check out your new blog it’s always something I can use... I love your ideas , I love that you eat healthy, and I love that your heart is to encourage and help others in there eating journey... God bless you and your family... thank you for the sacrifice you make with your time and great recipes 👍🏼
Dear Domestic Geek...quite frankly...you and your videos are supercalifragelisticexpialidocious. Thank you for all that you do. Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and successful year!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Your meal prep videos are helping me get the new year off to a great start. I just had the stuffed chili peppers from last week's video for lunch and oh yum!
When it comes to cooked grains, you have to be careful not to store them for too long. A bacteria in the rice does'nt die while its cooking, so they can develop while the rice is in the refrigerator . Love your videos!
I've seen this video litterly ten times 😂😂 whenever I plan to meal prep/plan, I always use this video as a guide. It really helps during the week to have all the stuff half done so I can cook fresh mwal everyday, because as a fulltimw working momma I need to make it fast, because otherwide it does not happen at all. Thanks Sara, you are the best!! 😘
I love how u still creative and bringing new contents ❤❤I start watching almost 3years ago and my way of eating have changed a lot Th an you so mucccchhhhhh.❤😍
I already went through my first week of meal prepping...it was back breaking cuz I have a very very small kitcken with a mini sink!!! It was aweful...but I did it and since I'm alone, I dont have to be dirtying dishes every day..👌 I'm still trying to wean off of sugar, damm what an addiction😨 I'm down to just chocolate, very little! It's so hard....
I love the idea of prepping the ingredients for recipes! When you have to sit there and prep everything for a recipe before you can start cooking, it's hard to stay motivated. That idea would definitely get me cooking more during the week. 😁
Kocinera at least do the prep in the morning if you can so at dinner time you are only cooking. That helps to keep me from going crazy and drowning in dishes
Thank you so much. I like how your meal preps are for different meals each day. All the others want me to eat the same thing for the week. Blah! My biggest problem is I don't like leftovers. I would rather not eat than to eat leftovers. So I like how you prepare the veggies for the meal and not the entire meal. I think I might be able to do this meal prep thing.
Just what i needed 🙌i now know where my daily struggle lies. I eat healthy but almost same things each day which gets so boring and i believe causes cravings for not necessarily healthy but easy accessible foods😓 thank you😊👍
Please don’t stop making these videos. Are very helpful and motivational. Also post videos on How to cook using multi cookers or instant pot if you may... Bless you!
Hey Sarah : Did you know ... strawberry tops are perfectly edible [if organic, much safer]. The leaves and stem part of the strawberry contain benefits that are good for your health. Make sure the leaves are bright green without any discoloration.
I was always frustrated with most meal prep vids and webpages is they make full meals. I literally get sick from eating the same thing over and over, so that won't work for me. I make up 4 servings of 2 grains, 1 or 2 legumes, roast vegetables and garlic (I am vegan btw), but just got a steamer, so I plan to do some steaming to broccoli and cauliflower and such too, but steaming is so quick so that can happen as I am making up my food. Thanks for adding more vegan ideas to your channel.
Thank you, Sara! This is exactly what I do when I am not lazy lol. But, we never refrigerate onions longer than 24 hours here, I personally never do that. I heard it is bad for your health. We do freeze them, however. I live in Europe
I am a new subscriber and you and your recipes are the answer to my healthy eating problems! I cant wait to try out all of your ideas! Thank you sooo much!!
I love this video! It really makes the daunting meal prep idea seem less daunting!! ☺️ Do you have or could you do a video on your favorite meal prep containers or non-food essentials?
I just discovered your channel. I just loved this video. It inspired me so much!! Thank you! Please do more of these and maybe what you eat in a day video!!!
I absolutely love your meal prep videos! I'm getting some great ideas. It's so nice that you give variations and suggestions for vegetarians. Thank you!
it's funny, I watch a lot of meal prep videos on your channel an on Alyssia's channel ... but I usually just pick a recipe to cook out of them ;) this video, which is less about the recipes, and more about the prep, really helped me realize that I should get back in the habit of prepping some things I used to make (like the lettuce!) and start prepping some things I've never prepped, like fresh fruit, a side of versatile grains, maybe even try that chicken, and the prepped veggies (because I am trying to eat more of those, and I usually fall short on being too lazy to cut them :P ). Terrific video Sara, I might just go and get my veggies for a mushroom soup I'm planning to cook this week ready later on today ;)
Happy New Year to u. New Year for new healthy recipes we appreciate the new ideas and great suggestions. There few new ones I will be trying. God bless 👐👐💯❤🌞👑👏😇🌟👍🍽🏩☕🌐
I thought that too but I'm pretty sure Sara's Canadian? I don't know if maybe they don't have an issue there, or if they get their lettuce from the same growers that we would in America.
Oh wow I guess so then! Yeah, I saw a news article circulating last week about it. I hate romaine anyway, I'm a kale/arugula/bibb lettuce gal, so I wasn't too bothered by it.
AcadienGirl 89 is there a U.S. recall for spinach? I bought a bag at Costco and found a large leaf with brown stuff all over it (Hopefully mud, possibly poop?) Is it safe to eat?
The inside of ur refridgerator looks beautiful. One day i hope to be able to eat more like you. I think i got a good mix going. I think i just need to experiment with more veggies to see what my family likes. Thanks for the tips. Great video as always. 👍
Hi Sarah, love all your ideas. Your a great cook girl 😊, I saw a video where they were showing a different way to boil eggs, they put the eggs in a muffin pan (with water) an cooked them in the oven 😃 for about 15 min I think 😄 but I thought it was interesting. 🎆 Happy New Year Sarah.
An idea that can help u remember how long the meal prep last, u can a label of the date and length of time. The label doesn't need to be fancy, just needs to be taped down well.
I think prepping your meals is a great idea, but there's one thing I don't really get yet: you always say those things last between 2 to 3 days (or 4, sometimes), so what do you do for the rest of the week? Do you just prep for Monday to Thursday or so and then cook freshly on Fridays and Saturdays? Maybe that's a really stupid question, but I'm curious to know if I just missed something here :D
oh and also: what about the vitamins and stuff, is cutting your veggies in advance and storing them in the fridge for a few days not gonna get rid of some of them?
Angur Boda Many nutritionists say that there is some loss (I don't believe it is something drastic like losing half the vitamins and minerals) of nutrients after peeling and cutting produce - but if u weigh the convenience of it making u more likely to cook your own food (which is usually healthier than restaurant food) and thus eat said vegetables, against not cooking due to laziness come dinner time, it's obviously way better to go the first route.
It's a good question. The once a week shopping and cooking is just a guideline to keep you on track. Although I shop on the weekend for most items, I don't buy tons of every type of produce for the next 7 days because I know some of it will look sad probably by Thursday. I'd rather buy a little more during the week if needed. I also store a few fresh foods in the freezer like berries or sliced ginger and I also make stews and other dishes that freeze well for later use. Here is a helpful link: www.pastrywiz.com/storage/produce.htm .
@JULOC05, @ks Yeah, the freezer would be an option. I hate it though, I don't have a microwave to defrost and always forget taking something out the freezer before leaving for work or so to cook it in the evening. So, unfortunately no option for me :D I am proud to say though I cook all my meals myself (except if I'm invited or something of course), sometimes not entirely from scratch, but often enough. So the weekly meal prep would just save some time and effort after a hard working day.
You should do healthy lunch ideas for your hubby? I switch it up between egg salad, turkey sandwiches, and chicken rice teriyaki bowls. But I'd love more options!
Hey, i love that you use mostly containers for storing your preps. In the cases you don't - do you re-use the plastic bags (if there are only fruits/vegetables inside)? I guess there is a lot of plastic waste otherwise
Hi, Sara Lynn. You are really on a roll. I am excited for your behind the scenes video. What's your best tip for buying the best grapes for a salad? Have a good day, Sara Lynn.
All of my fruits and vegetables and I roast the vegetables that I want to roast on a big sheet tray with a little bit of oil salt pepper garlic The Usual Suspects. The ones I want to steam or put in soup or Curry I prepare by cutting and putting in a glass dish with a lid. So at least my fruits and vegetables are ready because I cannot cut and do all of that I also dropped a ton of garlic and onions. I should say I have my caregiver do all of this the right now I don't have a caregiver so I will do it this weekend alone.
i like that your intros aren't 5 minutes long. some people's intros are usually half the video. you get straight to the point and don't ramble on about every little thing. it makes you not just bearable, but enjoyable to watch.
You are awesome, as usual. Please do a video on keeping/growing/maintaining kitchen grown herbs. For a couple of years I've been scoping out yours in those white porcelain bowls. My thyme & flat leaf parsley keeps dying. Help me Sarah, please.
iirc she did an herb-themed video a couple months ago! Maybe there's some info in that one that would prove useful.
THRILLHO thanks
T. D My family and I hate curly parsley and love flat leaf, and someone had given us a curly parsley plant and my dad was like, "Ugh well it'll die like any other plant in this house," (cause we're all terrible at taking care of plants) and that thing lived for two months! Jeff Ward, such a great suggestion.I too love using herbs but hate buying the pre packaged bags.
ColorfulConfessions I planted some flat leaf parsley in a flower box outside which grew very well. Its best to grow it in a semi shade area.
You’re the only UA-camr that I’ve switched on the notification bell for!!

Love love LOVE these simple tips
Careful eating Romain lettuce there has be a recall for ecoli contamination since December.
I thought that too but I'm pretty sure Sara's Canadian? I don't know if maybe they don't have an issue there, or if they get their lettuce from the same growers that we would in America.
ColorfulConfessions I'm in Canada and I seen it was also in Ontario which I think it's the province she's from. So this is also in America?
Oh wow I guess so then! Yeah, I saw a news article circulating last week about it. I hate romaine anyway, I'm a kale/arugula/bibb lettuce gal, so I wasn't too bothered by it.

Michelle J I'm not up to date with the U.S I just watch what the Canadian food inspection agency puts out for warnings.
Wow! I want to be as organized as you are. Thank you for sharing.😍

I loved this video, it's so helpful and what I needed.
My fav GEEK ever!!!
Everything delicious but that shirt!!!!! Beautiful
Found your channel trying to budget my groceries and not wasting any of them because I usually buy too much
My Problem with meal prep for a Week is that I dont know how long the food is good to eat
Alica Sadiki I was thinking exactally that
I agree, it would be boring to never eat fresh food for too long, as you would first cook it then reheat it later. It will allways be leftovers.
An idea that can help u remember how long the meal prep last, u can a label of the date and length of time. The label doesn't need to be fancy, just needs to be taped down well.
You can portion the meals and freeze them. Then let the meal defrost in the fridge overnight or during the day. Microwave when ready to eat.
We are family of three and for us it lasts about 3 days. I prep more meals though :)
I think prepping your meals is a great idea, but there's one thing I don't really get yet: you always say those things last between 2 to 3 days (or 4, sometimes), so what do you do for the rest of the week? Love your meal prep ❤️could you list the glass containers that you used I’m in love with the 3 bottles for the dressing 😊
Thanks for this video. I needed this.
