The sound of the white gold and enamel dial repeater is just so pure! Never heard that in a minute repeater watch, ever!

I initially was all about that cathedral, because, well, it is a cathedral. But with all good songs, after listening to it several times you notice new sounds. Thus, I realized how amazing the last piece is, the sound is just crystal clear. Regardless, I've set up the quarter chimes of both as my e-mail and text alarms, respectively!
What opportunity you are giving to us Tim, to see and hear thoose amazing watches!!
It was my pleasure to share these. When given such an opportunity, I couldn't miss the chance to document it for other collectors. I'm not a player for these, financially, and I suspect most of the viewers aren't. But we can all enjoy the showcase, and now that this video lives forever on UA-cam, we can enjoy these Pateks whenever we please!

This collection is worth more than any high end collectable luxury sports car (at auction prices!). Close to 3 million dollars right there. Perhaps one years worth FULL salary of a high end attorney or surgeon just for one timepiece. Very few watchmakers in the world know how to build and service them. Truly works of art. I doubt real collectors would wear something like this more than a half dozen times a year.

Well l had to return to hear the music, and l will again & again you never get tired of these sounds, for me it goes number 5 ,then number three as the ones l would pick to own, in my dreams of course . Tim...we all need a cigarette now! That's a "Holy Crap" collection. Half a million dollars of incredibleness arrayed on that table. This video is a tour de force, a veritable blitzkrieg through acoustical haute horology. I'm pretty sure I had multiple eargasms.
You're not going to believe this, but the **average** price of the watches on the table is $500,000+. Average. For each one...

Just curious, are there any Patek wrist watches featuring westmister chimes beside the grandmaster chime? I find it an incredibly more satisfying way of making a watch chime.

Tim, why does the white dial 5078 have a slightly deeper/lower-pitch sound compared to its sister with the black dial? I'm 100 sure of that!
The white dial -001 watch features an enamel dial vs. lacquered black on the -010. Enamel is more dense than lacquer, and enamel dials are executed on a *much* more dense white gold dial base. That extra density changes the pitch, and it's the major reason why I included both examples of the same reference in this video; they *are* different.

I dont understand what Does a minute repeater do? And is it useful?
It will tell the time with chimes, typically hours, quarters, and minutes. It can be useful if the watch does not have lume and the room is dark. Not a necessity but always fun to experience.

Astonishing watches, but I admit I failed to make significant connection beyond the displayed 12:59 time and the number of dings and dongs. Apart for the visually impaired people, I doubt it makes a lot of real life sense, even if this is not the main objective at this price point.
hervé Chretien the first deeper single chimes are the hour the double chimes are for 1/4 hours and the last higher pitched chimes are single minute. So 12:59 is 12deeper singles 3 doubles(3*15=45) and 14 single higher pitched (45+14=59) hope this helps
