Today, Tim unboxes the Patek Philippe 5207P. Introduced at Baselworld in 2008, the 5207 is a remarkable celebration of the best of Patek Philippe. Patek Philippe's flagship model at the time of its launch, the 5207P built on the legacy of the 5016, and brought together a tourbillon, instantaneous perpetual calendar, and minute repeater in one elegant case. Sporting a stunning gold tone dial and built into an exceptionally wearable hand engraved platinum case, this Patek Philippe Grand Complications is undeniable, and would make a worthy addition to any collection.

Patek: you pay extra for better detailing.
Lange: we put the same care and attention in every piece we make regardless of price.
Exactly. This watch is nice, but not worth 850k. IMO
Wow! When you spend that much on a box, they throw in a free watch.
😂
You’d think if you wore that watch to the museum they would just let you in for free lol.
I think they would pay the wearer money just to look at it. What a magnificent piece.
@@cookedit lol no kidding!
Trash feeds totally uncalled for as this platform is not for idiots like you.Extreme valuable information is not reqd.
No, they would accuse you of Cipolla’s 5 Laws.
Super cool, I can't imagine owning a $850k watch, much less actually wearing it outside of my dwelling. Beautifully done
What you do if you can afford this watch is build a walk-in safe, wear the watch and walk around inside the safe.
Incredible. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. Everything about this watch is a journey of wonder... Someone is going to have it in their collection, and I hope they wear and enjoy it for many years. Tim's presentation is on par with the subject: engaging & flawless! 🇬🇧
Thank you for this kind feedback!
Best,
Tim
I honestly hope it's not purchased by some asshole that wears it once a year and keeps it in a safe.........
@@mrbookends I'm with you. I wear my two-tone YM every day. I often sleep and shower while wearing it. I take it off if I'm motorcycling or working on the bike. I enjoy it.
@@mrbookends Well, considering this watch completely lacks waterproofness, it's likely that it won't be worn unless the owner can easily afford it. Maybe to special events, but even then you have to wash your hands a few times a day and risk damaging it. It's the kind of watch you would play with at home.
@@mrbookends this watch aint no daily beater. This watch requires a security gaurd.
What a beautiful package. The intent is clearly to be a one owner watch handed down through generations.
There used to be an ad some years back in the Robb Report for PPstating "You never really own a Patek Philippe you just safeguard it for the next generation "So you're comment is spot on!
Funny- the one I bought off a blanket in Chinatown came in a paper bag.
Pure class and workmanship right there. Stunning
Beauty! I love how they successfully attempt to drive more value to “box and papers?”.
One day I'll own the caseback
i would take a lot of 10K watches over PP models like the 5711 but my GOD, that is a spectacular piece!😍
Now THAT'S an Unboxing...Impressive!!!
for average watch aficionado this is just to enjoy watch hobby dont be dragged into thinking thats your ultimate grail that you will take a loan on your house and cash your 401k to eventually get it. It is great unboxing video from Tim to enjoy but most likely for us average watch hobbyists and peasants it ends here, afterwards we go back to our affordable luxury like Omega and Rolex.
Thanks for sharing this unboxing…I’m pretty sure I won’t ever be able to do this myself. I’ll be doing my own unboxing of a Cartier Santos over the next few months…😉
OUTSTANDING VIDEO! And great knowledge Tim - very impressive.
Awesome Unboxing Tim, thanks 👍🏽👍🏽
my grandfather, 93 years, has recently bought a Patek. Its up to his taste, he likes it.
THIS is my ‘grail’ watch. I have a 5205g and I love it, and this follows that same design language. It’s my favourite Patek design and this is the absolute pinnacle.
Gratulations!
The change of date and day is also instantaneous in your 5205 ?
For $850k I will fly to your location and follow you around and every time you stop or pause I will kneel down before you and tell you that you are awesome and better than the hoi polloi and remind you that you are noble and wise. May your light shine on me forever!
This watch was originally purchased in Bogotá, Colombia. We all know what kind of person bought this watch 😉
A narco? Lol, I didn't knew the original owner was from Bogotá... I'm ashamed to say I'm from this crappy country.
At that price, it should actually come in a platinum box 😄
Ha!
The price of the watch is actually equal to 53 POUNDS or just over 24 Kilograms of platinum in todays prices. That is so stupid.
I’ll take 2, Tim. Thanks! 😅
Fantastic piece of watchmaking. Impressive.
Stunning watch, grotesque price.
Awesome unboxing!
Stunning!
What can I say? Stunning color combination (gold/champagne color of the dial and silver color of the case) with brown leather strap. Patek has discontinued this particular ref and we have to wait for a similar color combination. Instead we have the classic, cold , all blue ref 5702G.
There is one thing I don't like about this watch. Large, too large PP inscription on the dial.
Just change it (look at the inscription on the old Patek) the watch will be stunning.
User's manual is amazing as well.
This is one of the coldest watches in the world. Every thing thats dope about the 5270 in a simpler dial. Perpetual Calander, Moon Face, Day/Night, Leapyear. Aside from that a hidden tourbillon, and minute repeater for the hell of it. Hand engraving...on platinum? Havent seen that before. Honey Gold dial on a Patek. Havent seen that before. This watch is SERIOUS.
This is so much fun.
Tim your content and knowledge is next level! But please buy a wider angle lens for these unboxing’s 🙏
Thank you! We're working on an upgrade for the light box and camera. My current setup never was designed for anything larger than an individual watch, so we're struggling with exceptionally large boxes like this one. Sean's working on a solution that will allow me to record large boxes on the same platform used for the watches.
Best,
Tim
Wow! Amazing! Nothing compares to Swiss craftsmanship.
THE SWISS RULE!
Keep these coming.
Cool idea but I personally prefer weekend watches or waking up to watches 😀
I had to shoot half a month worth of advance material before promoting our offices in East Asia. There was only time for one full-length inventory show before I departed, but more will follow now that I'm back in the office. Those inventory shows require far more administrative checkouts, internal book keeping, and physical handling challenges, so there was just one ready when I left for the offices in Singapore and HK.
Best,
Tim
@WatchBox Reviews hi Tim. Thank you for the response. I can appreciate how busy you are. To be clear, I like this idea a lot, though I absolutely love the inventory shows given the variety. I think you do a great job with all formats you create
Nice unboxing, Tim 👏
Wow, thanks for sharing.
15:23 The ultimate limitation of the prestige watch: It performs its basic function with no greater precision than my Hamilton grade 992B or a Casio watch purchased at a big box store for less than $50.
The casio will be more precise.
And you think anyone buys a piece like that to tell the time?
You clearly don't understand the mindset of very wealthy people.
That's like saying that the disadvantage of buying a Rolls Royce is that you could get a bus.
@@M123OCT I would love this watch I really would but that's not true, a rolls is inifintely and objectively better.
@@revoltoff Better than a bus? Sure. Is it better than a Fiat 500 though?
The Fiat is easier to park, easier to maneuver, more fuel efficient, easier to live with.
Why would anybody buy a Rolls Royce if you can get a Fiat 500? What, the craftsmanship? The luxury? The smoothness of the ride?
@@bloodymarvelous4790 You get a chauffeur that's 24/7 with you.
Wow how I wish I had 850k to splash on this sick piece😍😍
Ain’t no way. 850k? That’s insane. The box should be made of platinum and precious jewel’s.
do all pateks come with pusher tools and hang tags upon purchase or is that sold seperately?
And bought at the Bauer jewelry shop in Bogota, Colombia. It is one of the oldest and most reliable jewelry shops in the country. Wonder who in Colombia would buy such a piece…
I have some idea what kind of guy he was...🙄🤐😮
Amazing watch
I just bought an $850 watch and felt like I was being spendy, LOL.
Hamilton Jazzmaster Viewmatic auto. Pocket change.
I'm speechless!
I have question it is manual wind? It is do not have power reserve indicator so how much wind is needed every day? What do you think what is better income Patek Philipe or F P Journe? I think F P Journe is overpriced....
I'm sure that box alone is more than my house 🏠😂
Beautiful and wonderful craftsmanship. But I wouldn’t buy one even if I could afford to do so.
define "could afford"?
Thanks, but I already have two. Nice video.
Man. That little pile of metal is more expensive than my house 😂
A watch that the service costs as much as several watches id be proud to own, the wealthy do have fun toys.
Purely immoral
Sorry, I still can’t warm up to the Aquanaut. It looks to me like a very well finished Timex 🤷♂️ still much prefer Patek’s other core lines.
The hands look just like my Seiko cocktail that I got on sale for $225 😂😂😂😂
Awesome video, for me it’s a dream will never come true
The thrill of unboxing a Patek Philippe is something every enthusiast should experience. Bravo Tim.
perfection
It's not the Price , it's the fact you can only wear that watch in a very limited area , without being in danger.
Stunning watch and a little engineering marvel but $850k is just ridiculous.
No it’s not if you are billionaire
If you think $850K is too much for this few made for few people in the world then compare it with $500 million Saudi king paid for a printing! It is a well priced for those few.
if you are trying to preserve the identity of the person who sold it, you've done a bad job. you realize Patek is able to identify the exact watch using date and results of the observatory testing
Iv a watch that can just tell the time 😂for €20 iv had it for the last 15 years still perfect an works correctly. If I was a billionaire I wouldn’t be buying anything like this. To be honest it’s a beautiful watch😁
Is the little key platinum too?
Very good quality cardboard
Remember the SNL video from 1980 about inflation with Dan Akroyd as Jimmy Carter saying in the year 2000 everyone will be a millionaire, suits will be $4,000, and cars will be $600,000 (everyone laughed) well folks, here's an $850,000 watch.
widać, ze elficka robota
What was the Blue tape covering on the Christal I'm confused 🤔
Patek tourbillon watches have dial-size serial numbers.
Best,
Tim
Be careful there; you’re getting painters tape residue on the paperwork! lol
Its crazy holding most people's life paycheck in your hands 🤯🤯🤯
That box could cover up the moon if you hold it right, thats a big, big box.
A nice piece with an awesome movement but I'd rather have the nautilus.
Hermoso reloj. Un lujo y gusto de pocos
prob a noob question but whats the purpose of covering the serials? What can people do with that information?
You've obviously never opened the box to a longines heritage 1967 diver that box is absolutely huge..
Jeeeez Patek Philippe 😬😬😬🥶
Quite reasonable? I just send in my Ulysses Nardin perpetual (which is the superior movement) and they did a full service for around 1,100€.
What It’s expensive also a beautiful package
Excellent video and a fabulous timepiece, no doubt. Just as a reminder : purchasing luxury watches *as an investment* is in general a very bad proposition, no matter the brand or model you can never sell them for as much as you paid for them, plus as mentioned in the review, watches require periodic maintenance.
Besides retail Rolex
A lot of money for a watch, most people can only dream of owning one, but while unnaffordable to most, it's better value than those trendy toys from Richard Milk.
Someone with a lot of cash in Colombia is the original owner.
Only saw one in the brochure Patek sent me. My gawd the price.... Is that true
SERIOUSLY!!! That is not a "MASSIVE BOX" They did nothing to protect the inner box from the outer.
Why are there blue tapes on the watch face?
I wonder how many centuries this piece will see
Great video. Why the blue tape on the crystal? Seems like it just says Tourbillon underneath, but obviously I'm missing something...
Hi! Tape is used to cover serial numbers, to prevent counterfeits and protect the identity of previous owners.
--Team WatchBox
@@the1916companywatchreviews Tough to counterfeit that but I get it. So they print the serial number (can't be the name of the "previous owner") on the dial? Never seen that before...
Офигенно!!!
how much do u think insurance on this watch is?
Wow.
Yup!!
Service ratio is .006.
Means you can fix a $100 watch for $.60. Sign me up. 😅
Did you have the money to buy that watch?
Hello there,
I really want to know about this wristwatch, BYBLOS GENEVE 909010.
Would you guys be able to help me out?
Please let me know
Thanks in advance
Why the bits of tape on the front and back ?
Cool but a little bit spendy. Do they make a quartz model for maybe 250K?
Great , but you paid 850K $ and then are you excited cuz the folder is full leather and the box have the finest finishing? 😊
i think you should have given that little poker touch about the unboxing moment. you just opened the box as if it came from Amazon. rules of desire require the appropriate timing.
isnt that one the watch that Ryan Gosling used on "Drive"
Definitely don't throw out the packaging here!
Insane amount of money for this simple watch
Simple? Its a grand comp.
watching this video with my casio f91w on my wrist
How's the lume?
Should I trade my house for this watch? What would my wife say 😂
Me Ill trade my wife for this watch anytime LOL
850, US what amount :) or Canada Dollars, thousand??
People will cherish anything that costs more. So the lesson: charge more.
what's up with the blue masking tape?
Still the purpose is to show the time which even a phone can show or a normal clock
Can I get a deal if I buy 2 at once?
